Demon’s Souls Remaster Could Still Happen

A Demon's Souls remaster could still happen, but it won't be developed by From Software, according to series creator Hidetaka Miyazaki.

Speaking to GameSpot, Miyazaki noted that From Software isn't in charge of deciding if Demon's Souls will get a remake because the studio doesn't own the IP.

"The Dark Souls series is Bandai Namco Entertainment's IP, and Demon's Souls and Bloodborne is Sony Interactive Entertainment's IP," he said. "Hence, the decision to do a remake or remastering is under their jurisdiction."

"For me and for From Software, I don't think we'll be involved with their happening, but it could happen through another developer."

Necropolis Console Release Delayed

The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of Necropolis have been delayed.

While the co-op roguelike from developer Harebrained Schemes was slated for release on July 12, only the PC and Mac version will be available on that date, a studio rep told Eurogamer. The PS4 and Xbox One versions have been pushed to "later this summer," and it will be "several weeks" before the console code is ready.

Necropolis was originally slated to release for PC in March, but was delayed to line up with the console launch after Harebrained Schemes landed a publishing deal with Bandai Namco. While a simultaneous launch across all three platforms is no longer happening, the developer confirmed that "Bandai is definitely still publishing the console versions of the game."

Pokemon Go International Launch Being Paused

Pokemon Go has begun rolling out around the world this week, but any further debuts in territories that have yet to get the game have been "paused" while developer Niantic Labs addresses the game's server issues.

Speaking with Business Insider, Niantic CEO John Hanke said that the developer is aware of the server problems preventing players from launching the game and are currently hard at work finding solutions to those issues. However, while Niantic focuses on those repairs, the game's release in other regions like the U.K. and the Netherlands has been "paused until we're comfortable," according to Hanke.

The Wait for Marvel’s ‘Cage’ Is Almost Over

A decade after it was first announced, Genndy Tartakovsky's mini-series Cage will finally see print. Marvel announced today (via BirthMoviesDeath) that the first issue will be released in October, just in time for the debut of Netflix's Luke Cage series.

The Samurai Jack creator wrote and drew this four-issue project, which pays homage to the hero's '70s roots and blaxploitation cinema. As you can see from the preview art, it offers a very colorful and flamboyant take on the Marvel Universe.

The Syfy Stigma Needs to Go Away

It's been said many times that we live in a golden age of TV. It's also been said we live in the age of too much TV. With every network, streaming service and even gaming console getting in on the original programming game, it's hard to parse out what is worth watching unless it bursts through the pop culture bubble. Even then, if something burns you once, there's little incentive to give it another try; there's enough else out there to watch.

Sci-Fi Channel burned sci-fi fans hard when it became "Syfy" back in 2009, around the time Battlestar Galactica was airing its series finale. Out went quality programming like Ron Moore's critically acclaimed series, and in came reality shows, lighter sci-fi and Sharknado. People went elsewhere to find the types of series they were searching for in the post-BSG void, and Syfy became something of a joke compared to what it once stood for.

Pegg Disagrees with Takei on Gay Sulu

Simon Pegg—co-writer of Star Trek Beyond—agrees with original Hikaru Sulu actor George Takei that it's unfortunate it has taken so long for Star Trek to feature an LGBTQ character. However, he "respectfully disagrees" in regards to Takei's opinion on Star Trek Beyond's reveal that Sulu is gay.

Takei feels the decision to make Sulu openly gay in Star Trek Beyond is disrespectful to creator Gene Roddenberry's vision for the Star Trek universe. After hearing Takei's public response, Pegg is standing by the Star Trek Beyond character.

6 Reasons Mr. Robot is Awesome

USA's summertime hacker hit Mr. Robot, from creator Sam Esmail, returns for its second season on Wednesday, July 13th with a double-episode premiere.

As a unique, paranoid look into the world of stealth cyber-warfare, Mr. Robot took TV by storm last year with an offbeat, on-target look at a engineer/vigilante who gets roped into into a movement -- by the mysterious title character -- bent on toppling one of the world's largest multi-national conglomerates, E Corp (or "Evil Corp", as the show's protagonist, Elliot, perceives it).

If you're mulling over whether or not to catch up on Season 1 before the new run of episodes kicks off -- it can be streamed on Amazon Prime -- here are the reasons why you should flip into a full-blown Mr. Robot binge.
