New Comic Event Is 28 Days Later with Super Powers

Valiant Comics just announced via live Twitch stream that a new four-part event comic called Bloodshot U.S.A. by writer Jeff Lemire and artist Doug Braithwaite will release in October.

Check out the teaser revealed on Twitch:

FUTURE_004_BLOODSHOT USA BLOODSHOT U.S.A. TEASER by Kano

The event will see a 28 Days Later style story where Project Rising Sun (the creators of Bloodshot) infected the New York City populace with experimental nanites, and now they’ve been activated, giving ordinary citizens the same abilities as Bloodshot and turning them into dangerous, violent and near-invulnerable creatures bent on destroying everything in their path. Naturally, this gets Bloodshot’s attention, and he teams up with a group of other victims of Project Rising Sun to try to save the day. There will also be some other Valiant characters who show up and get infected, but it wasn’t revealed who, so we’ll just let our imaginations run wild with Ninjak-Bloodshots and Zephyr-Bloodshots.

Wrestling Wrap Up: The New Day Travel Back in Time

What is up, fellow humans? How was your week of pro-wrestling entertainment? Did it meet all your levels of liking?

2HoBfy6to3G1

Once again, because I really didn't see anything better this week, I'm kicking off this madness with Lucha Underground. A promotion (well, a "TV show about a promotion" really) that's currently doing more with less and creating a truly unique, special environment of bloodshed and creativity. Mil Muertes challenged Matanza for the LU Championship last week and they met in a Grave(r) Consequences match. Which is a more ornate Casket Match, complete with Day of the Dead decor and such.

According to Deadline, the movie is "billed as a sci-fi thriller" that producer Larry Kasanoff says is "not at all what you think," but will instead "be a cool surprise."

China and the United States are said to be co-producing the $80 million project under Kasanoff and Bruno Wu's new company Threshold Global Studios. Filming is expected to begin next year in China, as well as other locations, and will feature a Chinese cast.

Angry Birds Movie Cast Shares the Secrets to Great Voice Acting

There is an art to voice acting, and three of the lead stars of The Angry Birds Movie -- Josh Gad, Jason Sudeikis and Maya Rudolph -- have been practicing it for a long time.

When it came time to sit down with them to talk about the upcoming animated movie, we asked the trio for their pointers on what they think makes a great voice acting performance. Here are their seven tips for getting their characters' voices right.

"There's this quality about him that's out of control that I really loved," Gad said of his character, the yellow speedster Chuck. "I had a friend growing up who was literally like this. His name is Dave. We used to call him 'Motormouth.' That's called bullying now. We don't do that anymore. But he's one of my close friends, so I kind of ratcheted the personality based on him as a kid, how I projected him. So, you know, it was really for fun, for animation or live-action. That's what it comes down to, finding the right springboard."

SHIELD Moving to 10pm on ABC’s New Fall Schedule

ABC has revealed their new fall schedule and in a notable move, Agents of SHIELD will now air at 10:00pm on Tuesdays. While Netflix's Marvel series skew dark and more adult, SHIELD has always been seen as much more in line with the more mainstream Marvel movies, so putting it on at such a late hour, when many kids simply won't be awake, is surprising. SHIELD originally aired at 8:00pm, before moving to 9:00pm. The series has not been the big hit ABC likely hoped, though it has done well enough to be renewed for a fourth season this fall.

Speaking to press today, ABC president Channing Dungey said SHIELD's move to a later timeslot will allow them "to go a little bit edgier, go a little darker and take some risks." However, she said the shift was "less about moving SHIELD to 10 and more feeling we had a big bench of comedies. The schedule kind of fell into place in that way."
