5 Spider-Man Comics That Homecoming Could Adapt
We finally have the title for the new Spider-Man movie -- Spider-Man: Homecoming -- so now it's time to use our comic book nerd powers to divine what the story will be about.
We don't know much about Homecoming other than the title and the fact that it'll be the first Spider-Man film to unfold in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which means we'll see Tom Holland's Spidey interacting with the Avengers and other MCU characters. That alone is enough to get us excited for the new movie.
While we wait until 2017 (ugh!), let's look back at five Spider-Man comics that featured the Avengers and could very well have an influence on Homecoming.
Pokemon Live-Action Movie May Be in the Works
The Pokemon Company is reportedly looking to get a live-action film made based on its popular creature collecting franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, "a top-secret auction" for the film rights to Pokemon is currently underway and "nearing completion," with Legendary Entertainment pushing hard to secure franchise. Sources claim Warner Bros. is very interested as well, and has "pursued the property aggressively." Sony is reportedly also in the running.
The Pokemon Company has allegedly been "courting Hollywood to launch a big-budget live-action movie" with Warner Bros. being an early favorite—which makes sense given the two previously worked together to release several animated Pokemon films. However, sources now say it looks like Legendary will come out of the auction on top.

Mirror’s Edge Devs Interested in VR
Mirror's Edge seems simultaneously like both the best and worst game for VR. On the one hand, its first-person movement seems tailor-made for the gut-wrench thrill of VR. On the other, it would definitely make you throw up.
During our huge preview of the new game, we put that dichotomy to Mirror's Edge Catalyst's lead designer Erik Odelsahl and lead producer Amo Mostofi, and asked if they'd ever considered a VR version of the game.
"You're right," said Mostofi, "I think this game has so much potential, it's the best and the worst, but from our end, we never specifically looked at Mirror's Edge as a VR vessel
I think if we are ever going to do anything with VR, we would want to build something specifically for VR."

GameStop Executive Thinks New Console Launches “Seem Imminent”
GameStop COO, Tony Bartel has commented on the recent rash of rumours about new or upgraded consoles from PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo, saying new hardware launches "seem imminent".
As reported by Gamespot, Bartel made the comments at yesterday's GameStop Investor/Analyst Day, explaining that the company was not fully accounting for potential new consoles or VR hardware in its presentation:
"Although we have not modeled extensive growth for new innovation in this presentation, we are very pleased to see the introduction of technology like virtual reality and rumored new console launches, some of which seem imminent."
The Original Cut of Batman v Superman Was Four Hours Long
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice editor, David Brenner, has revealed that the first cut of Zack Snyder's film was around four hours long.
In an interview with Pro Video Coalition, Brenner said that a version with "absolutely everything" was "a nearly four hour cut".
Brenner puts that down to the sheer number of storylines that need to be accounted for, particularly in the early section of the film:
"Generally, BvS was a unique challenge in that we had not one but two protagonists, each with an alter-ego. So there was Clark Kent, Superman, Bruce Wayne and Batman. And then surrounding them are Lois Lane, Lex Luthor, Wallace Keefe, Perry White, Martha Kent, Holly Hunter’s character (Senator Finch), and still more characters orbiting them."
Thor 3 Rumor: Tessa Thompson Will Play Valkyrie
Days after it was announced that Veronica Mars' Tessa Thompson would be joining Thor: Ragnarok, her mystery role may have been revealed.
According to the Latino Review, Thompson may be playing Valkyrie. In the comics Valkyrie, or Brunnhilde, was the leader of Odin's Valkyrior, who brought dying warriors to Valhalla.
Valkyrie was a longtime member of The Defenders after they freed her from the control of the villain Enchantress.
