The Walking Dead Actor Talks Eye-Popping VFX Moment

The Walking Dead TV show brought to life one of its most surprising moments from Robert Kirkman's comics in its Season 6 midseason premiere, "No Way Out," and Chandler Riggs couldn't wait for it to happen.

Spoilers for The Walking Dead TV show and comics continue below.

In the midseason premiere, Rick & co. are covered and walker guts trying to navigate the huge horde of zombies that has overrun Alexandria. While they're surrounded by the undead, the Andersons slowly are picked off by the walkers and there's nothing the people around them can do to stop it.

First Sam (Major Dodson) draws their attention when he is paralyzed by fear and then his mother Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge) gets attacked. When her son Ron (Austin Abrams) turns his gun on Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Carl (Chandler Riggs) in anger, Michonne (Danai Gurira) spears him with her katana -- but not before his gun goes off and he shoots a gaping hole in Carl's face.
