Flash Movie Costume Reportedly More ‘Tech-Based’

The Warner Bros. movie version of The Flash isn't going to be copying the sleek costume used in The CW series of the same name.

Reports suggest that the Seth Grahame-Smith directed film will feature a suit along the lines of one of Flash's costumes in the fighting game Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Den of Geek claims the suit will be designed to have more of an armored, "tech-based" look than the clean-cut suit worn by actor Grant Gustin on TV.

Bryan Cranston Wants to Play a “Nasty” Marvel Movie Villain

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston would like his next sinister role to be that of a "nasty" villain in one of Marvel's next superhero movies.

"You know what I’d like to do? I’d like to do some big superhero villain in some Marvel classic," Cranston told Metro. However, instead of playing a recognizable big bad from the comics, the Walter White actor said he would like to "create one from scratch," adding, "I don’t know what I would do but it would be nasty."

Before Jesse Eisenberg was cast as Lex Luther in Zack Synder's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Cranston expressed interested in playing the DC Comics' supervillain. While that ultimately didn't work out, perhaps he'll have better luck with Marvel instead.

Batman Begins: Why Nolan’s Monologue Wasn’t Included

The first teaser trailer for Batman Begins featured a dark and ominous monologue that didn't make it into the final film, and writer Jonathan Nolan has spoken out to address why.

In a post on Reddit regarding the trailer (via io9), director Christopher Nolan's brother explained: "I wrote this in a couple hours in my brother’s trailer while he was shooting the scene in which Bruce is arrested for stealing Wayne corp supplies on his 'journey.' Remains some of my favorite writing from these films. Was written specifically for the trailer. Wouldn’t have worked in the film."

3 Things Marvel’s Movies Need to Fix

Marvel Studios’ movies featuring the Avengers characters are an undeniable success. They’re crowd-pleasers that make a ton of money at the box office, and even the worst of them -- Iron Man 2, The Incredible Hulk, Thor: The Dark World -- aren’t really that bad, all things considered. The best of the best -- The Avengers, Iron Man, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy -- are shining examples of how to make a satisfying superhero movie. While Marvel’s record is a strong one, there are still some areas where they seem to consistently drop the ball.

It’s said that “a hero is only as good as their villain,” but Marvel has actually shown that’s not the case. Their heroes operate astonishingly well despite the fact that nearly every villain has been agonizingly mediocre -- except Tom Hiddleston’s devilishly charming Loki, of course. They speak in broad terms about why they’re evil, they have an uncompelling grudge against the hero, and they offer little insight into what makes them tick.

Live Action Cruella de Vil Movie Coming From Fifty Shades of Grey Screenwriter

Disney's live-action 101 Dalmations adaptation, titled Cruella, has reportedly secured a screenwriter known for a different kind of cruelty.

Hollywood Reporter (via EW) reports that screenwriter Kelly Marcel has been brought on to write the film. Marcel has worked for Disney before, as her first script was for Saving Mr. Banks, but more recently she adapted the book Fifty Shades of Grey.

The film aims to continue Disney's recent spate of success with live-action adaptations of classic cartoons. It created hits with Maleficent and Cinderella, which likely led to the studio's decision to fast-track Cruella. As the title implies, it will focus more on the fur-obsessed villain, Cruella de Vil. Maleficent made the title character more sympathetic, so we'll have to see if Disney similarly ret-cons Cruella to soften her image. Cruella de Vil was previously brought to life by Glenn Close in Disney's live action 101 Dalmatians film and its sequel, 102 Dalmatians.

TWD: Andrew Lincoln on Season 6 Threats, Morgan’s Role

The Walking Dead returns on Sunday, October 11th with a 90-minute episode, and star Andrew Lincoln says the series has raised the bar across the board. Comparing the Season 6 premiere to a "monster movie," he claims this is the most ambitious and biggest season to date, with every episode feeling like a season finale.

I spoke with Lincoln on the phone while he was preparing for The Walking Dead's premiere event at Madison Square Garden in New York City. There they'll screen the premiere to an arena full of fans, cast members and crew before heading back to Atlanta to continue shooting Season 6. Lincoln was excited about the event, and told me about bumping into co-star Lennie James, who plays Morgan, earlier at their hotel. This will be James' first The Walking Dead premiere after appearing in several episodes during the show's run, and he was excited about the whole experience.
