Spelunky High Score World Record Broken
Spelunky has a new world record high score: $3,404,400.
The record was broken today by longtime Spelunky score runner Kinnijup, who just narrowly beat the previous record of $3,399,600 set by twigglefly in June.
You can watch part one of the full world record run below, with part two available on Twitch.
$3.4 million is a remarkable achievement considering that Spelunky creator Derek Yu thought even a score of $3 million was impossible as recently as last year. Kinnijup’s score record comes after a big summer for Spelunky, with new world records by SpelunkyGod (beating the game’s main path in 1:41) and dtea (beating the game’s more challenging Hell route in 3:44) both achieved in August. All of Spelunky’s world records are indexed on fan-run site Moss Tier.
Asus’s Water-cooled Laptop Looks Insane
We first saw Asus's insane water-cooled GX700 laptop at IFA this year and it looked insane. The top of the line gaming machine will run an Intel Skylake processor with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 980. No, I didn't forget to add an 'M' to the end of that; the laptop actually runs a desktop graphics card.
With all that power comes the need to cooling and that's where Asus's crazy docking station for the GX700 comes into play. Dock your laptop into the massive water-cooling station and water will be pumped through its heat sinks to drop the temps of both the processor and graphics card. Asus promises around 12% drop in temps when the GX700 is docked. We still don't have pricing or availability for the GX700 but will update as soon as we hear.
Mr. Robot Creator, Cast Tease Season 2
Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail took to the stage at New York Comic Con on Friday, October 9th with the entire core cast including Rami Malik, Carly Chaikin, Portia Doubleday, Christian Slater and Martin Wallström.
While Esmail was careful to keep the audience -- and, apparently, the cast -- in the dark (more on that in a moment) about what would happen in Season 2, he did drop just a few hints to whet the appetites of fans of the breakout psychological techno drama, which IGN gave an 8.8.
Major spoilers for Season 1 follow!
Perhaps the only question answered definitively was one that was never really in doubt. When Slater was asked if his Mr. Robot persona would return, the actor said he had no idea and that his original deal didn’t ensure a multiple season commitment. Esmail immediately countered with a decisive “He’s. Coming. Back.”
Batman Artist Greg Capullo Taking a Break in 2016
Longtime Batman artist Greg Capullo will be taking a break from drawing the Dark Knight in 2016.
Newsarama reports Capullo is putting his DC work on pause to work on a creator-owned project with Kick-Ass creator Mark Millar.
"Greg is going to take a break after Batman #51," current Batman writer Scott Snyder said during his spotlight panel at NYCC. "It's going to be very short. He and I have known this for some time.
SHIELD Debuts New Episode and Teases More Inhumans
At New York Comic Con tonight, Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb and Agent Coulson himself, Clark Gregg, introduced a new episode of Agents of SHIELD.
Beforehand, there was a quick Q&A, during which the subject of the Inhumans role in Season 2 came up. Gregg observed that the show was following what happens when people show up with these abilities, who seem somehow different, and some people want to “Legislate or militarily eradicate.” Added Gregg, “That seems topical to me.”
One fan asked if anyone else, besides Daisy, could be revealed as a latent Inhuman, now that Terrigen has been released. Loeb coyly replied, “We don’t know who or what any of our team is,” but noted that it will be “exciting” to discover more.
Rumor: Marvel Studios Cancels Inhumans Movie
We must stress right up front that this is a RUMOR, pure and simple, and if/when the Marvel Studios camp responds to our request for confirmation, denial or comment, we shall certainly update this report. So without further ado ...
Bleeding Cool claims to have heard from sources while at New York Comic-Con that Marvel Studios has canceled the Inhumans movie, which is currently scheduled for a summer 2019 release. (It should be noted that Marvel's TV and Comics divisions are at NYCC, while its movie wing is sitting it out.) So why would Marvel Studios possibly cancel Inhumans when it has all the earmarks of being another Guardians of the Galaxy sci-fi comedy hit for the studio?

Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed Movie Like Batman Begins
Ubisoft Motion Pictures CEO Jean-Julien Baronnet recently said the big screen adaptation of their Assassin's Creed game franchise will not be unlike two very specific and beloved genre movies.
According to the French magazine Premiere (rough English translation via /Film), Baronnet said, "
accepted very quickly. And it was the only actor which we thought was obvious. So we started with the actor, which is incongruous. Even more incongruous, he engaged us with nothing. There was no script, no studio or anything. We told him we were going to build the project together, we have a huge brand and we want to make a make a film with references to feature films like Batman Begins and Blade Runner. That is why we tend to. He was promised that he could work with the writers, we would associate it with all key creative choices."

Hasbro Announces The Prime Wars, Will Unify Transformers Universes
In an effort to create a more "cohesive" and "immersive" story, Hasbro will be uniting the universes shared by the Transformers toys and other entertainment media.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, company executives are planning to create a multi-year narrative shared by virtually all aspects of the Transformers property called The Prime Wars Trilogy.
This trilogy is currently being explored through the toys, Machinima digital series, and licensed video games, and working with this shared story arc is intended to provide a unified "framework" for the franchise.
