What Vin Diesel Wants to Happen to Groot in Guardians 2

Vin Diesel swung by IGN this week to give us his best Groot impression whilst promoting The Last Witch Hunter and while we had him the Guardians of the Galaxy star told us what he'd like to see in the sequel and that's a gigantic Groot!

"I've talked to James Gunn about that. I can't give it away but I would love to see gigantic Groot"

We saw a cute little baby Groot in Guardians of the Galaxy but for the sequel, Diesel would love to see just how big they could the character that he lends his voice to.

"I'd love to throw him into a forest and see how much mass that he consumes after devouring all the trees."

The Marvel movies have for a long time called New York City home and Diesel says that would be the perfect place to see him flex his bark.

Del Toro: Crimson Peak Is a Gothic Romance, Not Horror

Guillermo del Toro’s new film, Crimson Peak, opens this weekend. The trailers tease a story filled with ghosts, a big, creepy house and some decidedly dangerous knife play, all of which is very much delivered by the film. But del Toro would still like to make one thing clear - Crimson Peak is not a horror film, at least in the traditional sense.

When I spoke to del Toro last month about the Crimson Peak maze that is part of Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights event, the director also explained to me his approach to the movie, why it’s very much intended to be taken as a gothic romance, and working with the cast, which includes Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Charlie Hunnam and Jessica Chastain.

Insidious 3 Director Discusses Possibilities for Insidious 4

Having written both Saw and Insidious, Leigh Whannell is pretty much the most successful horror screenwriter working in film today. His directorial debut – Insidious: Chapter 3 – is out now on Blu-ray and DVD, so we caught up with him to discuss how difficult the second film was, why Saw should have stopped at three, and what should have happened in E.T. 2.

JUST BEWARE OF INSIDIOUS 3 SPOILERS AHEAD...

IGN: Why did you want to make Insidious 3?

Leigh Whannell: As you know with sequels, the impetus to make it usually comes from the producer, who is sitting there saying ‘Hey that last film made a lot of money – let’s make another one!’ So it’s not like I was knocking on the producer’s door saying ‘Come on, let’s make another one!’ And he was saying ‘I don’t know – our integrity is at stake!’ It was them coming to me and saying ‘OK, do you want to make another film?’ I think the thing that was interesting to me – first and foremost – was the opportunity to direct. I knew that James

Classic Characters Could Return for Jurassic World 2

Bryce Dallas Howard can imagine several versions of the Jurassic World 2 in which past characters – such Alan Grant and Ian Malcolm – return to tackle the growing dinosaur problem.

When IGN asked her which character she would most like to see in the untitled sequel, she was very diplomatic: “All of them. I should just say all of them. It’s just so exciting… these characters, for the most part, you would image that they’re still around, they’re still working, and they have opinions about what’s happening and may or may not need to get involved in what’s happening.

"I could see versions of the film where a lot of the characters come back, and just as a fan of the franchise, I would be totally stoked on that. It’s so cool BD

EA Has No Interest or Time for HD Remakes

Electronic Arts has little interest in re-releasing its old games, so don’t expect that Mass Effect Trilogy remake to release any time soon. When publishers release old games on new platforms, EA COO Peter Moore told IGN, “It feels like pushing stuff out because you’ve run out of ideas.”

Moore explained why EA isn’t into this approach to releasing games. “Remakes, because of who we are, and this broad portfolio of intellectual property...you add all that together, I don’t know where we find the time to do remakes,” Moore said. “We’re a company that just likes to push forward.”
