Rachel McAdams’ Doctor Strange Role Revealed?

Rumor has it that Rachel McAdams will not be playing Doctor Strange's supernatural love interest Clea in the new Marvel movie, but rather a far more earthbound character.

According to Latino-Review, the True Detective star will portray night-shift nurse Christine Palmer, a character from the Marvel comic Night Nurse.

"Palmer is the primary protagonist of Night Nurse #4 from 1973," as the site explains. "Palmer's background involved being a surgical assistant, which would make a good counter-point to Dr. Stephen Strange's surgeon."

Black Ops 3 Parkour Racing ‘Free Run’ Mode Revealed

Treyarch has revealed an all-new mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops III in which players can race through parkour-like obstacle courses.

Free Run mode pits players against each other and the clock as they run, jump, and even shoot at targets.

“This mode as a whole is all about managing your thrust meter and the budget that thrust meter gives you,” said the developer in a video uploaded to YouTube.

Players will need to time jumps on the ground and off of walls and any mistake will reset the player but adversely affect their time trials.

Ali Larter Confronts The Diabolical

Ali Larter is no stranger to otherworldly phenomena, having faced the undead in the Resident Evil movies and a super-powered existence on Heroes, among other memorable genre movie and TV projects. But now she finds herself up against a strange force in her new horror film The Diabolical, which debuts today in theaters, on VOD, and on iTunes.

Larter plays a single mom with two kids who is haunted by a freaky series of disturbances in her home which seemingly prevent her and her family from leaving. Even the paranormal investigators called to the case are too weirded out, so it’s up to her, her kids, and her boyfriend to figure out what exactly The Diabolical is! I chatted with Larter recently about the film, so read on for our discussion below.

What If Jurassic World Was Made in 1978 Instead?

You have to check out this fan-made mashup of older disaster epics, sci-fi flicks and monster movies for what Jurassic World would have been like had it been produced in 1978.

The YouTube channel "ChiefBrodyRules" created the trailer below, which stars Charlton Heston, Michael Caine, Richard Pryor and Raquel Welch.

Among the movies poached from for this trailer include several Heston classics (The Omega Man, Planet of the Apes, Earthquake, Two-Minute Warning) and Caine's The Swarm, as well as everything from Jaws and Westworld to The Towering Inferno, Baby Secret Of The Lost Legend, One Million Years B.C., and 1976's King Kong.

Former EverQuest Dev Launches New Studio

EverQuest designer Ryan Barker has moved on from the long-running MMO to open his own independent studio, Stonethunder Games.

In addition to Barker, Stonethunder is staffed by EverQuest II and Splatterhouse artist Steve Merghart, as well as composer Russell Hugo. "My time in the industry has given me some great friends who are even greater creatives," Barker told GamesIndustry. "I'm ecstatic that I'm able to work with them on a project much more personally."

Unlike Barker's prior work at Sony Online Entertainment, the projects at Stonethunder will be much smaller in scope. "After fifteen years of EverQuest, it was time to move on to something else," he continued. "Projects don't get bigger than EverQuest, and I can safely say that our upcoming projects will all be decidedly smaller in comparison. In fact, our first game will fit right on your phone."

Syfy Cancels Defiance

Update: Trion CEO Scott Hartsman, who runs the developer behind the Defiance MMORPG, issued the following comment to IGN regarding the series' cancelation:

We’ve had a great time working closely with the team of stellar writers, designers, producers, and actors on the Defiance TV show.  Like many of you, we’ve all enjoyed the stories they told week in and week out.  Let’s treat this as a fond farewell, in celebration of a successful three year run of a show that broke a lot of new ground and brought an incredible quality experience to its viewers.

As for the game and its future, Defiance is Trion’s IP and the game will continue exactly as before.  The show has always been a fantastic and interesting partner, but the two were always meant to be able to stand on their own, which is why the show was primarily set in St. Louis and the game in the SF Bay Area.
