US Drone Owners Will Soon Have to Register Their Devices

UPDATE: The US Department of Transportation has confirmed it will move ahead with the creation of a task force to develop recommendations for the registration of drones. According to a release from the agency, the registration of unmanned aerial vehicles will "help build a culture of accountability and responsibility" and cited incidents at major sporting events, flights near manned aircraft and interference with wildfire operations as reasons for the decision. No time line was given in the statement.

Edge of Tomorrow’s Doug Liman May Direct Gambit

Doug Liman is reportedly in the running to direct Channing Tatum in the upcoming Gambit film.

According to Deadline, "recent Hollywood chatter has Doug Liman on an inside track to direct Channing Tatum in Gambit." The outlet also notes there are rumblings Liman may be returning to direct Tom Cruise in a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow as well.

TheWrap has heard similar information in regards to Liman's involvement in Gambit, with film reporter Jeff Sneider posting the following statement on Twitter.

Goosebumps Bumps Martian From No. 1 at Box Office

Goosebumps had a successful debut this weekend, coming in first place at the domestic box office with an estimated $23.5 million.

The family-friendly fright-fest starring Jack Black managed to push last week's leader The Martian down to second, which raked in $21.5 million.

For those unfamiliar, Goosebumps is based on R.L. Stine's series of popular spooky books for kids.

Bridge of Spies from director Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Hanks debuted in third with a modest $15.4 million.

Meanwhile, Crimson Peak followed in fourth, earning an underwhelming $12.8 million, now serving as director Guillermo del Toro's lowest opening ever for a major studio.

25 DC Comics Coloring Book Variant Covers

The first batch of "Coloring Book" variant covers from DC Comics have been unveiled.

A total of 25 different uncolored lineart variant covers will be coming in January 2016, and DC has lifted the veil on each and every one of them. As you'd expect, iconic heroes like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman are all featured.

Annabelle 2 Moving Ahead

Last year's horror film Annabelle is getting a sequel by way of New Line Cinema.

Gary Dauberman, whose prior work includes Crime of the Century and Vessels, will be returning to write the script, The Tracking Board reports. Aside from Dauberman, however, no one else is currently attached to the project.

Annabelle was directed by John R. Leonetti and served as a spinoff to The Conjuring. It centered around a possessed doll, aptly named Annabelle, which ultimately ended up in the possession of paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren.

Force Awakens Poster Revealed; Trailer/Ticket On-Sale Info

Lucasfilm has officially confirmed the rumors about the final trailer and ticket on-sale info for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, while debuting the poster for the film, which you can see below. The poster offers our first official look (outside of some behind-the-scenes footage) of Carrie Fisher's return as Leia, though Mark Hamill as Luke Skywalker is notably still absent from any marketing for the film.

YouTube Gaming Now Features Streaming From Mobile

YouTube has revealed its first major update for YouTube Gaming, which adds the ability to stream gameplay directly from your mobile phone.

According the company's announcement (via TechCrunch), Android users can use Mobile Capture to stream while they play an array of mobile titles, a feature fans of Blizzard's digital card game Hearthstone will likely find handy.

YouTube Gaming is also adding further pressure to its competitor Twitch by offering a similar partnership program, where users can subscribe to their favorite streams and support them via monthly donations.

Fargo Producer Talks Legion and Bringing X-Men to TV

Noah Hawley, executive producer and showrunner on FX's acclaimed Fargo, has shed light on the process of bringing the X-Men universe to television with his new project Legion.

FX came to Hawley to spearhead the series, which centers around the schizophrenic son of Professor X. As for why he wanted to create a show specifically about this character, Hawley told TV Insider: "What I really like about him is, here's a character who is schizophrenic on some level, a character struggling with mental illness. Is he crazy or does he have these powers? The answer is, kind of both.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Lets You Weaponize Chickens

Lara Croft is getting the ability to use chickens as explosive devices in Rise of the Tomb Raider.

The Holy Fire Card Pack comes as part of the Apex Predator pre-order bonus through GameStop. One of the perks in the card pack is the Chicken Bomb, in which chickens can be thrown like hand grenades to break through barriers or kill enemies.

Other fire-related perks include Blazing Inferno, which grants Lara unlimited fire arrows, Backfire, which causes enemies to burst into flame if they land a melee attack, and Holy Fire, which causes enemies to explode when killed by melee attacks.

The Apex Predator Pack with a character skin and the Venom Hand Cannon gun.

Recently, Microsoft confirmed the game will have microtransactions and detailed DLC coming in the Season Pass.
