Power Rangers Movie Casts its Red Ranger

The upcoming Power Rangers movie has found its Red Ranger in the form of newcomer Dacre Montgomery.

The news was announced by the production's Twitter account, and marks the second official casting to be announced - the first was Naomi Scott as the Pink Ranger.

Telltale’s Game of Thrones Episode 6 Gets a Release Date

Telltale has announced the season finale in its Game of Thrones series will be available on consoles and PC from November 17.

Episode 6 - The Ice Dragon will be available to download on the same day as the full season hits shelves as a retail disc. Additionally, the first episode in the season is now free to download on both consoles and mobile devices to help anyone who's yet to try the games out get a taster.

"The epic conclusion to the season is the most ambitious and diversely presented episode we've ever produced," said Kevin Bruner, CEO and Co-Founder of Telltale Games. "The fate of House Forrester has been in the hands of players all season long, and the finale will be tailored to provide a uniquely harrowing conclusion for each and every player based on the decisions they've made in the game thus far."

Linkin Park Set to Close Out BlizzCon 2015

Blizzard has announced Linkin Park will be closing this year's BlizzCon with a performance on Saturday, November 7.

Though those attending the convention will get the best experience, the company has confirmed anyone with a Virtual Ticket will be able to watch the performance as it happens online.

“We’re beyond excited to welcome SoCal natives Linkin Park to close out BlizzCon with a bang on Saturday night,” said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. “We can’t think of a better way to bring two full days of gaming and action-packed eSports matches to an epic conclusion than with a band that’ll carry the weekend’s electricity through to the very end.”

PS4 Price Cut Comes to the UK and Australia Today

Sony has cut the price of its 500GB PlayStation 4 model in both the UK and Australia.

Widely speculated to be on the way for some time, today's stealth move makes the news official. As of this morning, a 500GB PS4 in the UK will now cost you £300, down from £350, and comes hot on the heels of a drop in other parts of the world.

Just last month, Sony announced a PS4 price drop for those in Japan at Tokyo Game Show, leading one to believe a similar discount for other territories was on the horizon. Sure enough, North America received one a few weeks later.

Unusually Fast and Unexpected Asteroid to Zoom past Earth on Halloween

An unusually fast 320 meter asteroid will buzz Earth on October 31 at 10:12 a.m. PDT, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory announced.

Discovered just 10 days ago, asteroid 2015 TB145 will safely pass Earth within roughly 490,000 km (304,471 miles, 1.3 Lunar distances or 0.00326 au) at a velocity of 35 km/s.

“The asteroid is in an extremely eccentric (~0.86) and high inclination (~40 deg) orbit,” NASA states. “It has a Tisserand parameter of 2.937 hinting that it may be cometary in nature.”

The stadium-sized asteroid poses no threat to Earth. Near Earth Objects (NEO) often frequent the planet’s immediate neighbourhood, with more than 30 NEOs scheduled to approach by the end of the month, five of those within 4.9 million km.

Twitch App for PlayStation Live on PlayStation 4

After confirming its impending launch at TwitchCon last month, Twitch today announced that the fully-featured Twitch streaming app for PlayStation is now live on PlayStation 4.

The PlayStation app allows users to broadcast content and watch and follow any broadcaster or game on Twitch, regardless of platform. It also includes full chat integration on PlayStation 4.

The Twitch app will launch on PS3 and PS Vita within the next two months, the latter of which can be used on PS TV.

Doom’s First Closed Alpha Hits This Weekend, Invites Rolling out Now

Invites for the closed Doom multiplayer alpha are rolling out now ahead of its launch this weekend, according to an announcement on the official Doom twitter account.

 

Sign-ups for the closed alpha opened up last week for those who bought Wolfenstein: The New Order on or before May 26, 2014.

Dr. Ken Gets Full Season Order

ABC has ordered a back nine episodes for Dr. Ken, locking in the sitcom starring Ken Jeong's for a full 22-episode season.

The show now joins the the network's new drama Quantico, as well as NBC's Blindspot and Fox's Rosewood as the fourth new series to score a back nine episodes, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This also makes Dr. Ken the first new comedy of the fall to secure a full season order.

Dr. Ken is based on show creator Ken Jeong’s own real life experiences as a physician before he became a Hollywood star. Earlier this year, we got a chance to speak with him about his new sitcom as well as the future of Community.

Paramount Pushes Next Friday the 13th Movie to 2017

Jason's going to have to wait until 2017 to go on his next killing spree.

Paramount has bumped the next installment of its seemingly immortal Friday the 13th series from May 13, 2016 to January 13, 2017, reports Deadline. The last 13th movie came out in 2009, and it's the third time its successor has been pushed.

In other horror news, the third film in the studio's Ring franchise - aptly titled Rings - has a new release date: April 1, 2016.  F. Javier Gutiérrez's film had originally been scheduled to hit theaters November 13.
