Cruise, Edge of Tomorrow Director Eye Sci-Fi Film
Tom Cruise is reportedly joining director Doug Liman in developing the sci-fi film Luna Park, and is also eyeing a starring role in it.
Cruise and Liman are currently waiting on a new draft of the script and nothing is set in stone yet, but Variety suggests this is an auspicious sign for a project that had long been in development limbo.
Liman's passion project was initially prepared to move forward in 2011 with Chris Evans and Andrew Garfield in leading roles. It was greenlit by Paramount, but production halted when Skydance Pictures bailed, due to its budget surpassing $100 million USD.

New Dark Souls 3 Info Sheds Light On Magic, Multiplayer
Dark Souls director Hidetaka Miyazaki has revealed some new details on the upcoming Dark Souls 3, including info on how systems like fast travel, multiplayer, magic and more will work.
Speaking to Game Informer, Miyazaki explained that Dark Souls 3 will allow players to fast travel from the start, similar to the way it worked in Dark Souls 2. Also like the second game, Dark Souls 3 will let players reallocate their stats so they can easily experiment with new builds or undo unwanted leveling choices. Miyazaki isn't sure if this will be done via an item similar to Dark Souls 2's Soul Vessel, but assures, "there will be a method for players to re-assign souls."
Hands-On with Apple’s New iPhones
As expected, today Apple officially introduced the newest members of its smartphone line, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus. While the two appear identical to their predecessors, Apple has thrown in a number of hardware and software features to differentiate themselves from last year's models. Two of the biggest changes coming to the 2015 iPhone line is the 3D Touch feature and an upgraded 12-megapixel iSight camera—as well as the new Rose Gold option, if that's your style.
3D Touch takes the Force Touch feature present on the latest MacBook and Apple Watch to the next level, and the results are rather intuitive. Utilizing pressure sensors, the phone can detect how hard you press on the screen to reveal additional contextual menus or options. From the home screen, for example, if you push on the camera icon it'll bring up additional quick launching options like going straight to the front-facing camera for a quick selfie. 3D Touch is a whole different tool from within apps, with specialized features built into each program.
Apple TV Apps Limited to Just 200 MB
Apps for Apple's newly updated Apple TV are limited to a mere 200 MB, and anything above that size limit must be streamed from Apple's cloud storage service, iCloud.
According to the app programming guide for tvOS, Apple's operating system for its all-in-one set-top box, "there is no persistent local storage for apps on Apple TV." That means every app developed for the Apple TV has to be able to store data in iCloud, and also "retrieve it in a way that provides a great customer experience."
Apple has a system in place to help developers master the streaming requirements in place for tvOS, and includes a list of "main ways apps can benefit" from being streamed from iCloud. Among the list of benefits are remote storage of rarely-used resources, such as an app tutorial, and "remote storage of in-app purchases."
Star Wars Comic Reveals Big Link to The Force Awakens
Warning: beware of spoilers for Star Wars: Shattered Empire #1!
In today’s Star Wars: Shattered Empire #1 by writer Greg Rucka and artist Marco Checchetto, we met Poe Dameron’s parents: Rebel soldier Kes Dameron and A-Wing pilot Shara Bey. Poe Dameron is an X-Wing pilot in the upcoming Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie, played by actor Oscar Isaac.
Seeing how this comic is part of Disney’s “Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens” campaign that will bridge the gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, it makes sense that it would start out by creating a strong link to the December release.
BvS: Zack Snyder Denies His Son Is Playing Robin
Director Zack Snyder has denied recent rumors that his son Eli is playing Robin the Boy Wonder in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
"It's funny because every now and then someone will touch on something that's kind of true, but the next thing they say makes me realize that they took a wild guess," Synder told Yahoo! Movies. "They'll say something, and I'll say, 'Oh snap, they must have seen the script.' And then they'll say, 'And this happens!' And then I'll go, 'They have no idea what they're talking about.'"
6 of the Most Over-the-Top Video Game Characters of All Time
While there are dozens of examples of subtle, well-realized characters in games, there are also characters who blaze beyond, and are so over-the-top that they have all the subtlety of a boot to the head.
Lots of games tread the relatively safe waters of cliche. That may have more to do with games needing only the scantest of details to put into perspective why the on-screen avatar is doing whatever he or she is being asked to do. But there are also higher-order games that take their characters and crank up the volume. Here are 6 of the greatest over-the-top video game characters ever created.
Duke Nukem only came here to do two things: personify the one-dimensional action heroes of 1980s films, and borrow a famous line from John Carpenter's They Live. And he's out of famous lines. Not content to be just a muscle-bound, cigar-chomping murder machine, Duke hides a 20-pound maul of machismo behind his wrap-around sunglasses. He can use a urinal, just like a real man, and his primary interactions with women all involve paying them to pay attention to him. At the end of the futuristic Duke Nukem Forever, Duke pulled a Kanye and announced his candidacy for president. If elected, it would make him the 69th president of the United States.
