How Halo 5 Will Run at 60 FPS

Josh Holmes, the Studio Head for Halo 5: Guardians, explained on Xbox Wire how the game will consistently run at 60 frames per second.

"From the beginning, we set ourselves the goal of delivering consistent 60 FPS gameplay across all modes of play," Holmes said. "Delivering on this goal meant re-engineering the gameplay systems at the core of our engine."

Halo 5 uses a "progressive resolution system" that scales the games resolution (up to 1080p) based on what's on screen at the time. For example, large outdoor scenes with tons of vehicles and characters are more difficult to render than a few characters in a hallway.

Disney Developing Mary Poppins Sequel

Disney is working on a sequel to its classic Mary Poppins musical, with Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides director Rob Marshall at the helm.

The new Mary Poppins won't be a reboot of the original 1964 Disney movie, but instead will be set 20 years after the events of that film. The new movie will take storylines from the P.L. Travers’ books "focusing on the magical nanny’s continued adventures with the Banks family."

According to Entertainment Weekly, John DeLuca and Marc Platt will produce the film. DeLuca and Platt worked with Marshall on Into the Woods.

Marshall previously adapted the Broadway hit Chicago to the big screen. Chicago went on to take home that year's Best Picture award at the Academy Awards and had a box office take of $306 million worldwide.

Mara also said that she believes a Fantastic Four sequel is unlikely, even though writer-producer Simon Kinberg says he's moving ahead with a follow-up film. "That’s the thing that makes me most bummed because we have no idea if we’ll ever make another one,” she said.
