Our Hands-On With Total War: Warhammer Was Incredible
Fantasy is practically made for massive battles. It thrives on them. Earth-rending magical powers and mountainous creatures of teeth and flesh ripping across a sea of shining armor as opposing forces flow and break against each other. There’s nothing like seeing the spectacle of it all unfolding at once.
And that’s exactly what I saw when I got my hands on Total War: Warhammer, Creative Assembly’s next entry in its tactical strategy series and its biggest and most elaborate Total War yet. The huge, tactical troop engagements of Total War have been a high point of real-time tactical gameplay, focusing on armies of history. That recipe spiked with Warhammer’s lore and fantasy is a no-brainer, and it gels so well together that I’m surprised we haven’t seen it done before now.

Pacific Rim 2 on Hold, Possibly Canceled
Guillermo del Toro's sequel to Pacific Rim has reportedly been put on hold, and subsequently may never see the light of day.
According to THR, the much anticipated follow-up to del Toro's big budget monster movie "isn't a sure thing." Sources claim Legendary Pictures has halted production on Pacific Rim 2 indefinitely, delaying the film beyond its planned August 2017 release, if it gets made at all.
Just last week we heard production on the film may have been delayed, moving the shoot date from November of this year to sometime in 2016. Now however, it appears the sequel -- reportedly titled Pacific Rim: Maelstrom -- is in a bit more trouble than initially believed.

The Celebrities of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate
“I think what’s important about the historical characters in this game and this era is that not only does this time have really new inventions and weird facial hair and cool hats, but there’s also a lot of eccentric people with big personalities. This era introduces the concept that we know of today as being a celebrity.”
These words from Mel MacCoubrey, the Assistant Director of Narrative Design at Ubisoft Quebec, seem to perfectly encapsulate the tone of the folks who populate the world Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s London. As Jacob and Evie set forth to liberate the seven Boroughs from the tight grasp of the Templar, they’re going to come across a motley crew recognizable figures who helped shape not only Victorian London, but the modern world as we know it. This was the era when the tabloids and scandal sheets started, so it’s only fitting that we get a peek inside the lives of some of these people.
