Microsoft Shutting Down Zune Services Soon

Microsoft is shutting down all of its Zune services in November.

On a company support page, the company reveals that on November 15, people will no longer be able to stream or add new media from the Zune music service. There's also the warning that anything containing DRM may not play if its respective license can’t be renewed. Aside from that, however, the Zune will still function as intended, and all of its content will be left intact.

As for existing Zune music subscriptions, they'll be converted to Groove Music Passes, unless someone decides to cancel beforehand or wait until their current subscription ends; in some cases, you'll be eligible for a refund. Those that choose to use Groove Music, and provided they're 3-month or yearly members, will see their subscriptions reset between October 15 and November 15.

Why DC’s TV Shows Don’t Share the Movie Universe

While DC Entertainment boss Diane Nelson admits Marvel's shared universe "has worked beautifully," she doesn't believe it's the best strategy for her company.

Speaking at Variety's Entertainment and Technology Summit, Nelson explained that one singular DC universe “could end up handcuffing our creators into trying to work with the same storyline or force them to hold back characters or introduce certain characters. Ultimately it hinders the ability for someone like

Bruno Heller to come in and create Gotham."

In addition, Nelson stated that DC and Warner Bros. are delivering a diverse and wide range of content with their shows, which wouldn't be feasible with a shared universe. She pointed to the differences between Gotham and Supergirl, along with Cartoon Network's Teen Titans Go, for example.

Five Nights at Freddy’s RPG in the Works

The next Five Nights at Freddy's game won't be Five Nights at Freddy's 5, but a role-playing game called Five Nights at Freddy's World.

FNaF World will let players create RPG-style parties using what creator Scott Cawthon refers to as "adventure" designs of characters from the past four games and their existing variations: classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare. Despite the familiar characters, FNaF will not be a horror game.

According to an announcement from Cawthon on the Five Nights at Freddy's 4 Steam page, the FNaF story is "complete" and neither the Halloween update nor this upcoming FNaF game will add to it, so we can only speculate about what FNaF World is about.

Why Did Universal Let Kong: Skull Island Go to Warners?

Now that Legendary Pictures has officially moved their King Kong prequel Kong: Skull Island from Universal Pictures to Warner Bros. Pictures in order to pave the way for an eventual King Kong vs. Godzilla movie, the reasons and internal politics behind the studio change are coming to light.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Legendary Pictures honcho Thomas Tull "wanted Universal to kick in 25 percent of the new film's budget, and sources say some at the studio were excited about the idea of a new Kong movie. But 'when you're taking a big swing like that,' says an insider, 'you'd better have your (expletive) together.' And Universal was not convinced that such was the state of Legendary's project."
