Christie Talks Star Wars and Game of Thrones

Actress Gwendoline Christie, known for her role as Brienne of Tarth in Games of Thrones, recently spoke about her portrayal of Captain Phasma in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and the challenges that come with the role.

“I found it to be a really interesting acting challenge, not just because of what I felt this character was representing — and it was just what I felt, and we talked about it a little bit, but it was never like a manifesto, ‘this is what it must be’ — and it was exciting to me to have that weight of responsibility taken away, of having to be a certain way as a woman, to have to be mindful in a way that isn’t always useful," she told Variety. "To have that stripped away was very liberating, and it meant that as an actor I had to focus on other things. I had to focus on what my body was communicating and what exactly my voice is communicating.”

The Winter Soldier Takes Aim at BvS Director

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder isn't making many friends with folks working in the Marvel Cinematic Universe after he talked smack about Ant-Man, calling it "the flavor of the week."

Now actor Sebastian Stan, who plays Bucky Barnes in Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War, has come to Marvel's defense, lobbying his own criticisms at Snyder and his DC Comics movies.

"Yeah, I’m sitting here and I’m listening to you and I’m thinking, 'Do I want to fire some shots at DC right now, at Zack Snyder?' I read some of those comments where he said something about Batman and Superman, I can’t remember where I read that, somewhere," Stan told Collider.

Snyder Says Batman v Superman Is Man of Steel 2

The likelihood of Henry Cavill getting another standalone Superman film doesn't look all too promising, as Zack Snyder has confirmed that Batman v Superman is essentially Man of Steel 2.

"I think in a way Batman v Superman is Man of Steel 2," Snyder told Canoe.

It's important to note that while this doesn't necessarily rule out the possibility of another Superman-centric film, Snyder's comment clearly speaks to the fact that it's not currently a priority at the studio. After all, Warner Bros. reportedly wants more Batman and less Superman in BvS.

FOX’s Scream Queens is This Week’s TV Highlight

And. Here. We. Go.

It's time for TV to explode all over the damn place. Let slip the dogs of network TV as this week is all about big premieres. Heroes returns to NBC after years away, Gotham is back on FOX for a second season, CBS debuts its Limitless series, ABC updates The Muppets, and so much more.

So it's way more difficult to pick a TV highlight this time around. But we did it, and we went with a brand new series - FOX's Scream Queens. You can check out our review of Scream Queen's double-sized premiere here, as American Horror Story's Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan dial up the comedy for a new camp horror series revolving around a snooty sorority and devil-masked serial killer set on bumping off both members and pledges one by one. Starring OG scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis, Emma Roberts (riding the wave formed by her bitch role on AHS: Coven), Abigail Breslin, Skyler Samuels, Keke Palmer, and many more, Scream Queens pays homage to classic horror while mixing in slapstick elements one might find in a Zucker Brothers movie.
