New Gotham Trailer: Is Barbara Becoming Harley Quinn?
Check out this new lengthy trailer centered on the criminally insane supervillain group introduced on Gotham's Season 2 premiere. Consisting of Barbara (Erin Richards), Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) and several newly introduced characters, The Maniax were formed by billionaire "philanthropist" Theo Galavan (James Frain) for the express purpose of reigning chaos down on Gotham.
Also, could the video be teasing Barbara becoming this show's Harley Quinn? At the 1:27 mark, note the red, black, and white outfit. Because it certainly feels like Jerome and Barbara are being groomed for Joker and Harley. Though she's not exactly enamored with him right now.
Expand Release Date Announced
Minimalist puzzle/adventure game Expand will be released on September 30 on PC.
Developed by Australian duo Christopher Johnson and composer Christopher Larkin, Expand's minimal visual style belies a complex game of emotion and introspection. Players will guide a pink square around a circular, constantly shifting monochrome world in an experience that will last two or three hours.
"We essentially created Expand to highlight how a beautiful world can be created using only simple variations on game rules and environments," says Johnson.
Expand will be available on Steam, itch.io, and the Humble Store for $6 USD, and bundled with the soundtrack for $10. A 20% launch discount is also planned.
5 Things J.K. Rowling Revealed About Harry Potter’s Family
We may never get another Harry Potter novel, but that hasn’t stopped author J.K. Rowling from offering bits of information about the magical world that has entranced so many. Today on Pottermore, Rowling posted a short written history titled The Potter Family, which revealed a few fascinating facts about the lineage of The Boy Who Lived.
Harry’s oldest recorded descendent is a wizard named Linfred, who Muggles viewed as an eccentric old man who was always “pottering about in his garden with all his funny plants.” In reality he was inventing potions -- like Skele-gro and Pepperup Potion -- but they nonetheless nicknamed him “the Potterer,” which over time became just Potter.
Naughty Dog Clarifies The Last of Us 2 Chatter
Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, writer and creative director on The Last of Us, has shed a little more light on the status of a potential sequel to the studio’s acclaimed 2013 survival horror masterpiece.
In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine (via GamesRadar) Druckmann explained that a prototype for The Last of Us 2 was being put together (amongst several other ideas).
hen Bruce (Straley, game director ) and I moved over to Uncharted 4, we were brainstorming ideas for The Last Of Us 2 with new characters; ideas for TLOU 2 with Joel and Ellie; ideas for a sci-fi game; ideas for a fantasy game, and building prototypes for each one of those ideas. And just as we were getting close to settling or narrowing that list down, we were asked to work on Uncharted 4.”
Arkham Knight Catwoman’s Revenge DLC Announced
Warner Bros. has revealed Batman: Arkham Knight’s next batch of DLC coming in October.
Catwoman’s Revenge is a story pack pitting players in the role of Catwoman, seeking revenge against the Riddler, according to the Arkham Knight YouTube page. The feline anti-heroine was teased at the end of the Batman: Arkham Knight September update trailer released earlier today.
The October update will also include a handful of classic Batman TV series content, such as the 1960s TV series Batmobile and Catwoman and Robin skins, and two racetracks inspired by the classic TV series.
Heroes Creator on Why It Made Sense to Revive the Series
After five years, Heroes is returning to NBC this Thursday via Heroes Reborn, a new 13-episode series. Once more guiding the series is Heroes creator Tim Kring, and I sat down with him to discuss bringing the series back.
Kring chatted about why he wasn’t surprised Heroes was revived, his approach to the story and how he thinks they can avoid some of the pitfalls they encountered the first time around.
IGN: When Heroes came on the radar as possibly coming back on NBC, was it an out of nowhere surprise to you?
Tim Kring: The honest answer is no. There had been talk all along, in various ways. Some of that was just that there was a recognition of what the audience really was out there for the show. Even when the show was cancelled, there were many people who were aware of what was happening with the audience. The last full year we were on the air was 2009 and we were the number one most downloaded show in the world back then. We were one of the most DVR’d shows, we were certainly one of the most streamed shows in the world. I think that year we sold two million units of DVDs, which is a lot. I remember reading that article at the end of 2009, in December when they do those kind of year-end wrap ups of things. I think it was March of 2010, a few months later, we were cancelled. So reconciling this idea that a show that had sold two million units of DVDs and was one of the most downloaded shows in the world, one of the most streamed shows in the word, one of the most DVR’d shows, was also cancelled, was something that was talked a lot about internally.
Security Firm Zerodium Offers $1 Million Bounty for iOS 9 Jailbreaks
Zerodium, a company that acquires exploits, is prepared to pay $1 million USD to those that can provide a good enough iOS 9 jailbreak.
The company is hosting what it calls "The Million Dollar iOS 9 Bug Bounty," with the main intent being to buy an "exclusive, browser-based, and untethered jailbreak" for Apple's latest mobile operating system. In a post explaining the challenge, Zerodium states that, while iOS 9 is the most secured version of iOS Apple's developed so far, it's still subject to vulnerabilities. And the high bounty is meant to represent the difficulties people will run into as they try to find any flaws.
PAMELA Is a Sci-Fi Open-World Survival Horror
Six-person indie team NVYVE Studios has revealed a trailer for its upcoming survival horror FPS game PAMELA, revealing a utopian future ravaged by mankind's misguided pursuit of perfection.
Jeff van Dyck, who works as composer for the Total War series as well as audio director for Alien: Isolation, contributed a haunting theme to the Rebirth trailer, which reveals a number of the game's locations and reveals the titular omnipresent AI overseer.
PAMELA begins as the player is awoken from cryosleep in fallen utopia Eden. You'll fight for survival alongside AI Pamela as you both explore a once-vibrant city now overtaken by monsters known as the Afflicted. You can wield, customise, and upgrade weapons and equipment to help you explore the environment, and you'll also be able to enhance your body with bio-augmentations to give you an advantage over your enemies. You'll want to be careful with your choices, though, as every decision comes with consequences.
