Dark Souls 3: 5 Things We Know and 5 Things We Want to Know

After almost two months with nothing but the hands-off E3 demo to refer to, it felt great to finally play Dark Souls 3 last week. It's as tough and engaging as ever, but unfortunately, access to attributes, stats, inventory, and other info panels were barred off, and everything was super simplified to streamline the preview process. There was no way to check up on things like equipment load and poise, how the heavily speculated bonfire mechanic will be implemented, or even how hollowing and humanity work.

While the demo did an otherwise incredible job showing off the web-like level design, tone, and grandeur of Dark Souls 3's world, it left a lot to be desired in the way of Dark Souls' more technical aspects. It’s still very early, so that’s forgivable, but until we learn more, here’s a list of the things we know and the things we want to know about Dark Souls 3.

Anchorman’s McKay Bringing Archie to Broadway

The long-running Archie comics series may soon find its way onto the Broadway stage.

Writer-director Adam McKay (Talladega Nights, Anchorman) has been hired to write a musical based on the classic Archie comics, which will be presented by McKay's comedy producer Funny or Die in partnership with Archie Comics.

McKay is only contracted to write, and details surrounding other creative team members remain unknown. While we don't know the main story thrust of the stage play, Variety reports McKay describing it as "bright, colorful, and slightly demented."

Kinberg on Plotting the Future of Stars Wars

Simon Kinberg, the writer-producer behind projects like X-Men: Days of Future Past and this Friday’s Fantastic Four, has shared a few details on the collaborative process involved in shaping the future of such an epic and beloved film franchise as Star Wars. Because, yep, he's involved in that too.

Kinberg spent a week working with writers Michael Arndt (Toy Story 3) and Lawrence Kasdan (The Empire Strikes Back, Raiders of the Lost Ark, and so much more), presumably some time before production began on The Force Awakens, figuring out the structure for the new Star Wars trilogy and standalone spin-offs.

"Like a TV writers room, we spent a week with a whiteboard and some pens and were in a conference room all day talking about

YouTube Says So Long to 301+ View Counts

YouTube is retiring the "301+ views" placeholder view count. The placeholder would appear on popular videos until their number of views could be verified.

In its place, YouTube is implementing a new system that counts and verifies views as they come in, meaning the thrill of the 301+ count is a thing of the past.

Dota 2’s Adorable Figurines Are as Awesome as Amiibo

Each year at The International, Valve sells adorable Dota 2 Demi-Hero figurines that give even the best amiibo a run for its money -- and this year's Bloodseeker, Death Prophet, Bounty Hunter, Outworld Devourer, and Venomancer might even outdo last year's gorgeous toys.

They're $30 apiece at the Dota 2 Secret Shop at TI5 this year. Take a look at each of them below, plus the bonus, hyper-rare gold variant for Death Prophet

You can watch TI5 replays and live on IGN.

Rainbow Six Siege Turns Counter Terrorism Into a Spectator Sport

It’s in the second round of my hands-on with Rainbow Six Siege’s Heresford Base map that things come unstuck. The first round on defence was a breeze; myself and my four squad mates having survived an assault on our heavily fortified armory stronghold with barely a bullet lodged in our body armour. So when roles were reversed in round two, and perhaps thanks in part to the false sense of security afforded by the beefy ballistic shield I’d equipped to my load out, I clambered foolishly through an un-boarded window only to land feet-first in a tangled barbwire trap - distracted for just long enough to be flanked from the side and quickly dispatched. One-shot. Dead.

I should have known that I would be ambushed, and perhaps I would have had I taken some time beforehand to watch some games on the map using Rainbow Six Siege’s spectator cam mode. While Ubisoft’s upcoming tactical squad shooter only supports up to 10 players per game, five per side, an eleventh player can join purely as a passive participant to watch and learn the tactics of more experienced players.
