USA’s Colony is the “Photo-Negative” of The Walking Dead
Premiering January 14th on USA, with WWE Smackdown as its lead-in, is Colony, a new sci-fi series from Carlton Cuse (Lost, The Strain, Bates Motel) starring Lost's Josh Holloway and The Walking Dead's Sarah Wayne Callies.
Colony is a drama set in the very near future Los Angeles, centering on one family's struggle to survive and bring liberty back to an alien occupied city. While some choose to collaborate with the occupation and benefit from the new order, others rebel, and they suffer the consequences.
Cuse, Holloway, and Callies all appeared at the TCA Press Tour to answer questions about their new series, and about how the show might compare to the likes of Lost and The Walking Dead.
Australian Matthew Simmons is 2015 International GT Academy Champ
26-year-old courier Matthew Simmons from Brisbane, Australia has been crowned champion at the 2015 Nissan PlayStation International GT Academy. Simmons fended off competition from 29 other Gran Turismo players from around the world to emerge as victor and will now begin training in the Nissan Driver Development Programme for a race seat in the 2016 Dubai 24 Hours.
The 2015 GT Academy International Race Camp, which kicked off last week at Silverstone in the UK, featured finalists from the United States, Australia, Mexico, North Africa, and Turkey. The racers were eventually narrowed down to five for the final event: an eight-lap race of Silverstone’s national circuit in specially prepared 370Z NISMO race cars.
Prison Break: Sarah Wayne Callies Hopes to Return
Few details are known yet about the return of Prison Break except that series creator Paul Scheuring is currently working on a script and FOX seems confident it is very likely going to get ordered directly to series.
While we know Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell are attached to return, no other casting has been revealed, but one big part of the show during its original run was Sara Tancredi, played by Sarah Wayne Callies.
Callies, who would go on to star in The Walking Dead after Prison Break, has a new series, Colony, coming in January on USA, from Lost’s Carlton Cuse. Promoting Colony today at the TCA press tour, Callies was asked how she might juggle both that series and Prison Break and her first reply was, “No one’s asked me yet, so I don’t know!”

J.J. Abrams Not Directing Star Wars: Episode IX
We've known for some time that Rian Johnson will be stepping in to direct Star Wars: Episode VIII after J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens comes out. However, back in March, we heard that Disney might want Abrams to come back for Episode IX.
Despite the rumor, Abrams recently confirmed he will not be directing the third and final film of the new trilogy. "No, I'm not going to direct Episode IX, as much as I am deeply envious of anyone who gets to work with this group of people on the future movies," the filmmaker told Entertainment Weekly.
You Have to Wait 9 days to Unlock Everything in Mario Maker
A new trailer for Super Mario Maker reveals how you'll unlock the creation tools through daily play.
The video shows how you'll start the game with a limited set of items in your toolbox to populate the world. Playing for at least five minutes the first day will unlock another tier of tools on the second day, and so on, for a total of nine tiers. That means creators won't be able to use the full suite until a more than a week after launch.
It also shows off some of the other features, like the randomized 100 and 10 Mario Challenges, sound effects and music block customization, and Amiibo compatibility.
The gated progress won't mean that levels with later elements will be entirely unavailable. It's launching with about 60 pre-made levels--including one from Rayman creator Michel Ancel--and presumably those will utilize the full toolset.
