Iceman Wants Ghost Rider Role

Shawn Ashmore says he would love to make a standalone Iceman movie, and also intimated that he’d be keen to play Ghost Rider should the opportunity arise.

We spoke with the X-Men star while he was promoting Quantum Break at GamesCom, and asked if he’d like to see he most famous character take centre stage in a spin-off.

“An Iceman solo movie? If Fox would make it then I would do it. I love that character, I love the Marvel universe, especially the last couple of films. I was so excited about Days of Future Past when I heard about that – reading the script, realising the script – it was so exciting for me, so if that was ever an opportunity? Absolutely.”

However, Ashmore says he’s very aware that standalone movies might not be right for the series. “The other thing about the X-Men is I think is that they work best as a team” he explained. “What I always loved about the X-Men is that it wasn’t about solo characters. I think that the characters really come to life when you put them in the context of the school with Xavier, with the team – that’s what I always loved about the X-Men. So I’m not sure if that would ever happen. It would be exciting if it did, but there is something to be said about the team.”

"Doubt this will change any minds at EA, but what the hell," tweets McGee, "sign the petition for a new Alice game!"

The petition has so far gathered over 11,000 supporters.

Disney Details The Hulk Playmation Starter Set

Disney has showcased what’s inside the Playmation Incredible Hulk Starter Set.

Each set comes with a pair of Hulk hands, a power activator, and an exclusive Loki smart-figure.

The Playmation Avengers range is a series of wearable toys designed to let kids create their own adventures. Think back to when you were a kid. You’re in a big open field, running around with mates pretending to shoot things with imaginary guns (probably made out of sticks). That’s what Disney is aiming for, albeit with modern smart technology.

The press release explains the starter set as so: “Users can put on Gamma Gear to defeat enemies, pound the ground to create a shockwave, and run through increasingly larger obstacles (think tanks and helicopters) while earning new powers in the process.”
