Hulu Orders Seth Rogen’s Future Man to Pilot
Hulu has ordered a pilot for Seth Rogen’s time-traveling gamer comedy Future Man.
According to TheWrap, the show focuses on a world-ranked gamer who finds out from time travelers that he is the key to stopping a super-race invasion.
Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg will serve as executive producers and direct the pilot, with a script written by Ariel Schaffir and Kyle Hunter.
Hunter and Schaffir also worked with Rogen and Goldberg on The Interview and This Is the End.
In recent months, Hulu has acquired FOX’s canceled The Mindy Project, and is set to premiere its own original series The Way. At the recent TCA press tour, Hulu revealed it will debut new its new series with weekly episodes as opposed to releasing them in entire seasons at once like Netflix does.
Jackman May Star in The Odyssey
Wolverine star Hugh Jackman is reportedly in early talks for a starring role in the upcoming film adaptation of Homer's The Odyssey.
According to TheWrap, a representative for the Oscar-nominated actor has told the outlet that yes, Jackman is in talks with Lionsgate, but it's merely a "conversation at this point." As such, negotiations are in the "very early stages and nothing is confirmed."
Lionsgate's big-budget production is being helmed by Francis Lawrence, the director famous for his work on the trio of sequels to Gary Ross' Hunger Games film adaptation. The fourth and final movie based on Suzanne Collins' popular young adult novel series, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2, releases this November.
17 Best Metal Gear Solid Bosses
Hideo Kojima's Metal Gear Solid series is known for a lot of things, one of which being its incredible boss encounters. In the lead up to The Phantom Pain, we thought it'd be fun to takle a look back at the most memorable fights we had throughout the series. Whether the fight itself was fun or the character just stuck in our mind as particularly awesome, here are 17 of our favorite Metal Gear Solid bosses.
A fun, but often forgotten idea from a special collaboration between Konami, Kojima Productions, and Capcom, Gear REX is a Monster Hunter-esque take on Metal Gear Solid's iconic bipedal tank. Mechanically, the fight itself wasn’t quite as memorable since Gear REX could have been substituted for “Gear bullet-sponge,” but just look at that visual! It’s wide head and majestic stance made it a living and intimidating interpretation of a fan favorite boss. As a result, we felt it had to be a part of this list. -- Jose Otero
Fear the Walking Dead’s Hope to Avoid “Idiot” Characters
This Sunday, AMC is launching their spinoff/prequel to the smash hit The Walking Dead with Fear the Walking Dead and I recently sat down with the show’s executive producer, Dave Erickson, to discuss the series.
A former writer for Sons of Anarchy and Low Winter Sun, Erickson told me his approach to the show and the characters, starting with the blended family unit Fear the Walking Dead centers on, and how to navigate the sometimes-tricky prequel terrain of the audience being ahead of the characters, in terms of their knowledge of the situation.

IGN: Does launching this off of The Walking Dead sometimes feel like a bit of a double-edged sword? You’re coming off of something so successful, which is great because you’re going to get a lot of instant attention, but at the same time does it raise the pressure on feeling, “We’ve got to deliver something interesting here?”
Headphones & Hollywood Sound: Scoring Scalebound
“There have been games where I feel like the game experience itself is great”, Hideki Kamiya says, as the conversation turns to the music in his latest game, Scalebound. “But because of the lack of something in the music, I couldn’t fully appreciate what this game is trying to do.”
For Kamiya, music is one of the most evocative parts of any game experience, both as a player and creator. “I feel that music has helped me in so many ways, and supported the creation of my games as a whole.”
It’s an attitude reflected in his work. Kamiya’s soundtracks are always big, ambitious, and often wonderfully bizarre. “It’s about bringing something unique and original...not what you would normally expect”, he says of his approach. Indeed, very few would have expected that looping J-pop remix of Sinatra’s Fly Me To The Moon in 2009’s action game Bayonetta, or a theme tune - complete with fist-pumping cheeseball lyrics - born from an ‘80s kids cartoon in The Wonderful 101. Both weird fits theoretically; in actuality, perfect.
Grand Theft Auto Franchise Has Shipped Over 220 Million Units
Take-Two Interactive has confirmed lifetime shipments of the Grand Theft Auto franchise have passed the 220 million mark.
The figure comes out of a shareholder outreach presentation, in which the parent company of developer Rockstar also reiterated 54 million of these were thanks to Grand Theft Auto V alone.
It's important to note the exact phrase used: '"sold-in". Sold-in means sold to retailers, as opposed to sold through, which represents the final sale to consumers.
“Stone Cold” Steve Austin Talks WWE 2K16 and SummerSlam
When it was announced that the legendary "Stone Cold" Steve Austin would be on the cover of WWE 2K16, fan reaction was a bit mixed. Many felt that the ass-kicking, beer-swigging mega-star of the Attitude Era was the perfect choice while some thought the honor should have gone to a newer superstar. And while Stone Cold himself certainly sees both sides of the argument, he knows that when "you get that call from Vince to be on the cover, you don't turn it down."

Live-Action First-Person Shooter Appears on Chatroulette
Chatroulette users were invited to play a live-action, first-person shooter zombie game.
The video -- which has already been viewed almost 1.5 million times -- shows unsuspecting Chatroulette users controlling the actions of a real-action, first-person-perspective video game protagonist. The environment boasts zombies, real-time sound effects, shotguns, crowbars, button-prompts, and turrets.
"We created a live action first-person zombie shooter in our garden -- then invited unsuspecting people on Chatroulette, Omegle and Skype," states the description on the RealmPictures YouTube page.
Final Fantasy 14 Has Over 5 Million Registered Accounts
Square Enix has announced its MMO Final Fantasy XIV officially has over 5 million registered accounts.
The figure includes players from around the globe, including those in Europe, North America, Japan and China, while excluding anyone who has a free trial account. Final Fantasy XIV is one of the few MMOs left on the market to still charge a monthly subscription fee, which makes this all the more impressive.
Considering the MMO was written off following a disastrous launch, it's an immense achievement the game has been turned around to be so successful and something Square Enix should be proud of. We recently got a chance to talk to the man behind the redesign, Naoki Yoshida, and he didn't hold back in telling us about the difficulties faced along the way.
