AMD’s Market Share Dips Below 20 Percent
When it comes to share of the consumer discreet graphics card market, AMD is being overpowered by rival Nvidia.
According to a chart from an internal Nvidia report on market share for the two companies, Nvidia controls a whopping 82% of the graphics card market, with AMD continuing to lose ground. AMD cards now hold an 18% slice of the graphics card pie.
A representative from Mercury Research, a PC semi-conductor and components market research firm confirmed the numbers with us, saying the numbers in the report represent raw numbers from the firm.

Nintendo Open to Movie Adaptations, Says Miyamoto
While Nintendo has been rather protective of its franchises in the past, the house of Mario is warming up to the idea of producing movies based on its iconic stable of characters.
In an interview with Fortune, legendary game designer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that while the the company has been given many opportunities to enter the film business in the past, it's been reluctant to pursue such an endeavor.
"We’ve had, over the years, a number of people who have come to us and said 'Why don’t we make a movie together—or we make a movie and you make a game and we’ll release them at the same time?'" Miyamoto said. "I’ve always felt video games, being an interactive medium, and movies, being a passive medium, mean the two are quite different."

Half-Line is a Mashup Between Hotline Miami and Half-Life 2
An independent developer has found a unique way to unite his love of Hotline Miami, Half-Life 2, and game development.
Called Half-Line, the game takes after Hotline Miami's isometric and fast-paced game style with the aesthetic and atmosphere of Half-Life 2. Creator Thomas Kole calls it "a video game mashup between Half-Life 2 and Hotline Miami," saying he "made this game as a declaration of
love for these 2 games, and as an experiment in game design."
Half-Line features eight levels designed after the different regions in Half-Life 2, along with a level editor and "relentless Gravity Gun fun."
All Bets are Off in From Dusk Till Dawn: Season 2
IGN has a new and exclusive behind-the-scenes featurette of the El Rey Network's From Dusk Till Dawn TV series, including info on the upcoming season as well as brand new footage.
So, what's in store for Season 2? Traveling between Mexico and Texas, the series will continue to follow Santánico (Eiza González) and Richie (Zane Holtz), who are outside Houston doing their best Bonnie and Clyde impersonation; Seth (D.J. Cotrona) and Kate (Madison Davenport) are scraping by South of the Border; and Freddie Gonzalez (Jesse Garcia) is protecting his wife and young daughter in the suburbs; Carlos Madrigal (Wilmer Valderrama) and Scott Fuller (Brandon Soo Hoo) emerge from the Titty Twister, changed men -- and they will all come together once again, this time facing off against an even bigger threat.
Galactus and Mole Man Were Originally in FF
A lot has been revealed about the recent Fantastic Four movie, including word that studio intervention and a litany of cut scenes helped to render it the critically and financially disappointing product that it is. And now, it's been revealed that an original draft of the script included appearances from both Galactus and the Mole Man, among many other details.
In an analysis of the initial script, Birth Movies Death found a number of elements that were planned for the film, but eventually fell victim to being cut out.
Nintendo Files Patent for Console With No Optical Drive
Nintendo has filed a patent for a console that has no optical disk drive.
The patent, spotted by NeoGAF user Rosti, shows a rough schematic of a console that, according to the patent filing's abstract, "is not provided with an optical disk drive" for reading game data from a disc.
Instead, the patent shows games stored on a hard drive, and further cites "high-speed communication such as ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) or optical communication," such as high-speed fiber internet, as a delivery method for game data. The patent says this will allow a server "to distribute a game program to a game apparatus," and cites the benefit to the consumer of not needing to purchase "a recording medium."
