WWE SummerSlam Live Blog

It's SummerSlam time!

Welcome to IGN's live-blog for WWE SummerSlam. All four hours of it. Plus, probably a touch of pre-show. This is going to be a long one, so strap yourselves in.

Jon Stewart's acting as host, John Cena is chasing Ric Flair's world title record, Undertaker's looking for revenge against Brock Lesnar, and Arrow's Stephen Amell is hoping to not get too banged up before he returns to his stunt-heavy TV series. The WWE put a lot of effort into making this event feel big, though after Saturday's NXT card - particularly Bayley vs. Sasha - the main roster's now in the "earn this" seat. So let's see if Super-SummerSlam can deliver!

Dolph Ziggler Talks Lana, SummerSlam and WWE 2K16

This past week on RAW, Dolph Ziggler returned to save the skin of his best girl Lana from the nefarious clutches of Rusev and Summer Rae. Now Ziggler and Rusev are officially booked to meet one-on-one this Sunday at SummerSlam (look for IGN's SummerSlam live blog!).

I had the chance to speak to Ziggler at 2K's SummerSlam Kickoff Event and ask him what it's been like to work a romance angle with Lana, the chances of tagging with her in the future, his thoughts about SummerSlam, and Arnold Schwarzenegger being a part of WWE 2K16.

IGN: What's it been like to work a romance storyline on the show?

Dolph Ziggler: Oh, come on. I've usually got some girl on my arm.

New Gotham Trailer Goes Big on Joker Teases

FOX has released a new trailer for Gotham, heavily teasing the rise of the Joker over the course of the show's second season.

While Cameron Monaghan's villainous character has not officially been confirmed to be the Joker, FOX's new "Villains Rising" trailer certainly plays up that possibility, featuring several instances in which his character emits cackles of insane laughter.

Last month, Monaghan teased Jerome's eventual evolution into the Clown Prince of Crime, posting a mugshot of his character sporting a very familiar grin. When we asked executive producer Bruno Heller about this tease, he refused to reveal Jerome's identity, but did confirm that "the story

Holiday Baby Groot and SHIELD Lola Pop! Figures

Funko has announced two more Marvel-themed Vinyl Pop! figures, featuring baby Groot and Agent Coulson.

Nerdist reports that both figures will be coming later this year. The little Groot is holiday-themed, with a red bow around a green pot. He's themed after the dancing Groot featured in Guardians of the Galaxy, and similar to last year's more vanilla iteration.

Coulson is part of the "Pop! Rides" line, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. director riding his car Lola.

Americans Naming Babies After This Star Wars Character

Each year, the United States Social Security Administration releases a list of the top 1000 baby names for the year, and for the first time ever, "Anakin" broke into the list at #957.

According to Yahoo, Anakin was the given name of 218 baby boys born in 2014. That doesn't seem like a lot, but it's probably 218 more Anakins than you've ever met.

Names like Noah, Liam, and Mason top the list of boy's baby names on the Social Security Administration's website, so Anakin has a long way to go before it breaks into common use. Right now, Anakin sits nestled between Baylor at 958 and Zaid at 956. To be fair, those names would also work as Star Wars character names.

How to Watch Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive’s unpredictable pace and strategic nuance can make it a tough game for new viewers to appreciate. That’s why we’ve broken down the rules of Valve’s hit shooter for people who are more interested in spectating than they are playing.

With this quick guide, you’ll be able to keep up with the action the next time you watch a pro game.

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a tactical, team-based, objective-driven first-person shooter that rewards cooperation and game sense over a positive kill/death ratio. In competitive CS:GO, two teams of five face off as Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists, or Ts and CTs for short.

WWE’s Seth Rollins Talks SummerSlam, 2K16 and Jon Stewart

Seth Rollins has had quite a year in the WWE. After splitting off on his own from the highly popular trio he was a part of, The Shield, Rollins would find increasing success and in 2015, became the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion at the culmination of WrestleMania 31. At this weekend’s SummerSlam -- look for IGN’s live-blog during the event on Sunday! -- Rollins will face John Cena in a match that has both of their titles (Cena is the current United States Champion) on the line.

I had the chance to speak to Rollins at the big SummerSlam kickoff event this week, which was also celebrating the upcoming release of WWE 2K16. Rollins and I discussed his SummerSlam match, what it’s like being in a video game and more – including the fact that big wrestling fan Jon Stewart, who Rollins had a comedic feud storyline with earlier this year, will be returning to WWE as the host of SummerSlam.
