Peanuts Movie: Snoopy’s Grand Adventure Game Announced

Activision has announced The Peanuts Movie: Snoopy's Grand Adventure will be released on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Xbox 360 and 3DS on November 6.

The side-scrolling platformer is being developed to release alongside the upcoming The Peanuts Movie, which is also out later this year.

Gameplay will revolve around Snoopy tracking down Charlie Brown and other Peanuts characters in an elaborate game of hide-and-seek. As he traverses various different worlds, Snoopy will uncover costumes based on his various different guises from Peanuts' 65 year history, each of which will imbue him with unique skills, like the ability to fly.

Co-op play allows a second gamer to jump in as Woodstock, distracting foes and opening new paths in a manner that seems similar to what we've seen in recent Rayman games.

Batman: Arkham Knight Batgirl DLC Trailer and Story Revealed

Warner Bros. has released the first trailer for the upcoming Batgirl DLC set to be released for Batman: Arkham Knight.

The DLC, titled Batgirl: A Matter of Family is set before the events of Arkham Asylum and marks the first time gamers have been able to take control of Batgirl in the series. It's worth noting the DLC is made by Arkham Origins developer WB Games Montreal, not series creator Rocksteady.

"When The Joker kidnaps Commissioner Gordon and holds him hostage at the Seagate Amusement Park, Batgirl and Robin must fight against the odds to save him and avoid falling victim to The Joker's sinister plan," reads the official synopsis. "Trained by Batman, Batgirl's combat combines with unparalleled hacking abilities to take down enemies, control objects and solve puzzles."

2 Heroes Reborn Games Will Act as Prequels

Two Heroes Reborn video games will be released this September to accompany the upcoming 13-episode mini-series on NBC.

Heroes Reborn, airing September 24, takes place five years after the end of the first show when Claire Bennet revealed her powers to the world, making the public aware of super-powered people. From what we’ve learned about Heroes Reborn, apparently the public didn’t respond too positively, so now people with powers are feared and hunted.

The two games act as a prequel to Heroes Reborn and share an overarching story by two writers on the show, overseen by Heroes creator Tim Kring. Key characters and plots will link the two games, so while you can play them separately, Heroes lovers can play both to get a richer experience.

It’s Japan vs USA, Once More With Robots

Hot on the heels of their Women's World Cup clash, Japan and the US may be in for another fight, this time with giant robots.

Having completed work on its Mark 2 model, US-based robotics company MegaBots issued a challenge late last month:

"Suidobashi, you have a giant robot, we have a giant robot. You know what needs to happen."

In the red, white, and blue corner - via CNN - the MegaBots Mark 2 weighs in at a staggering six tonnes, fires 3-pound paint cannonballs at speeds of over 100 miles per-hour, and requires two pilots. It’s said MegaBots plans to create a UFC-style sports league, albeit with robots instead of people. Think Robot Wars, only with mechs instead of motorised vacuums.

Open-world dinosaur survival game ARK: Survival Evolved has managed to sell 1 million copies, despite still being in Steam Early Access.

Final Design for BBC Micro Bit Revealed

The BBC has revealed what will be the final design for its Micro Bit computer, the small device which will be given free to around one million children in the UK this October.

The pocket sized computer is building on the legacy of the original BBC Micro, however this one will be free for all kids in Year 7 or equivalent this year.

According to the post on the BBC website, the Micro Bit has a fully programmable array of 25 red LED lights, two buttons, and a motion sensor. These were not shown on a prototype in March, and although there are now more features, it also means that a battery pack will be needed for it to be a standalone product.

New Xbox One Patch Released

Microsoft has announced the contents of its latest Xbox One update.

The patch, which began rolling out in select areas earlier today, may not sound particularly exciting as it doesn't bring with it any user-facing changes, but Major Nelson has revealed it preps the console for both Windows 10 game streaming and backwards compatibility.

"Later today Xbox One owners will be getting a system update," he explained. "This update prepares for game streaming to Windows 10 (launching July 29th) and our upcoming Backward Compatibility feature launching in a few months. There are no new user-facing features in this release as the team focuses on the New Xbox One Experience that will be available later this year."
