Sony Takes the Top Console Spot Again
Sony's PS4 continues to be the console leader in sales for North America, beating out both the Xbox One and the Wii U.
The PS4 Batman SKU helped push both the PS4 and Batman to the tops of the hardware and software sales for the month. Overall, hardware sales were up 18% over the same period last year.
Hardware sales for June came in at $869 million, with sales of video game hardware totalling $313 million, up 21% from June 2014. The major factor in June's strong sales were, according to NPD, was the success of the games launched in June, "which collectively rose close to 300 percent in dollar sales compared to June 2014 launches."
Batman v Superman: 5 Things We Learned at SDCC
Since there was no sign of Marvel Studios in Comic-Con's Hall H last weekend, the show was DC and Warner Bros.' for the taking. Sure, Fox was also present with X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool and Fantastic Four footage to show off. But really, we've been doing the X-Men thing for years, whereas the DC Cinematic Universe is brand-freaking-new. And super exciting. As such, the Batman v Superman panel presentation was bound to be a highlight of the show.
With Ben Affleck (Batman), Henry Cavill (Superman), Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Jesse Eisenberg (Lex Luthor), Amy Adams (Lois Lane), Jeremy Irons (Alfred), Holly Hunter and director Zack Snyder all on hand -- plus the new trailer that was shown -- lots of nuggets of information about Batman v Superman came to the surface. Here are some of the most interesting thing we learned about Dawn of Justice at SDCC...

Simply called the 30th Anniversary Trilogy, the first of these collections features all three movies and a bonus disc (available on both DVD and Blu-ray) containing a myriad of interviews, documentaries, and animated shorts about the making and characters of the movies.
The second collection combines all 26 episodes of Back to the Future: The Complete Animated Series on DVD for the first time ever. Finally, the third collection - known as Back to the Future: The Complete Adventures - combines the contents of the first two together with an additional 64-page book and light up Flux Capacitor-themed packaging, as seen in the photo below.
New Deadpool Images Hit
New images from the upcoming Ryan Reynolds-starring Deadpool movie have been released, and they give us a better look at the Merc with a Mouth and his friends (and enemies) in action.
Deadpool, Negasonic Teenage Warhead, and Ajax are among the many characters shown. Check out the images below to see them all.
Images of Megasonic Teenage Warhead and Ajax have been previously released as well, giving us more looks at the people Deadpool will interact with in the very R-rated upcoming film.
WWE’s Edge to Play Atom-Smasher on The Flash
Former WWE wrestler Adam Copeland, AKA "Edge", will be guest starring on The Flash as DC Comics' Atom Smasher in Season 2.
"One of the most powerful enemies we encounter this season, Atom Smasher has come to Central City to kill The Flash," the CW told Comicbook.com. "His incredible strength and ability to grow to enormous size makes him more than a match for Flash and the entire S.T.A.R. Labs team will have to come together to find a way to defeat him."
In the comics, Atom Smasher is the alter ego of Al Rothstein, and was a longtime hero - only to go much darker following the death of his mother. Rothstein was name-dropped in Season 1 among the victims of the particle accelerator explosion, among many other DC characters.
Sleepy Hollow / Bones Crossover Coming Next Season
FOX is planning crossover episodes between supernatural drama Sleepy Hollow and crime comedy-drama Bones.
According to EW, the crossover will be across two episodes - one on each show.
This is pretty unusual, given that the two shows are radically different and that Bones has never been a genre show. But both shows not only air on FOX but are produced and owned by the same studio, 20th Century Fox, which makes a mash-up like this possible.

Major DC Hero Transforms in Justice League #42
Warning: this article contains spoilers for Justice League #42!
DC has been teasing that the current Justice League storyline, The Darkseid War, will deliver major changes to many members of this superhero team. Readers saw their first example of that in Justice League #42 yesterday, as Bruce Wayne ascended from Batman to Bat-god.
The transformation occurred as the Justice League were confronted by Metron, the New God who observes all events in the universe from his Mobius Chair. Metron found himself subdued by Wonder Woman's lasso and interrogated, leaving Batman free to sit on the Mobius Chair. Instantly, the chair imbued Batman with the same cosmic awareness and transformed him into a New God.

Largest Winged Dinosaur Discovered
Researchers have found the largest winged dinosaur on record in China.
The Guardian reports that the new species has been named Zhenyuanlong suni, and the fossil is so well-preserved that scientists have been able to reconstruct the placement of its plumage. It measures two full meters in length. Despite its impressive wingspan, though, researchers say it probably wasn't able to fly.
