Bungie Previews the Arsenal in Destiny: The Taken King

Bungie is offering fans a sneak preview of the weapons in upcoming Destiny expansion The Taken King, which features the largest armory seen since the game's original release.

The preview covers a small selection of arsenal from the Hakke, Omolon, and Suros the product lines. Weapons types teased range across scout rifles, hand cannons, sniper rifles, shotguns, rocket launchers and pulse rifles.

"This inspection doesn’t cover the entire product line that Hakke, Omolon, and Suros have to offer," David "DeeJ" Dague writes, "We’re holding back a number of armament categories for you to discover for yourself as the Taken War escalates. The models you’re looking at will seed a vast array of options you’ll use to equip your Guardian.

Here’s Half-Life Being Played on a Smartwatch

We recently heard HTC is bringing the Half-Life franchise to virtual reality headset Vive, and now you can play the Valve’s classic shooter on smartwatches thanks to a tutorial by modder Dave Bennett.

According to the tutorial, the game is running on an Android-powered LG G Watch using the SDLash app that emulates the GoldSource engine. Bennett notes that the exercise is a proof of concept and is far ideal control-wise. Performance was better than expected, hitting a high of 30 frames per second down to a low of 2FPS.

“Of course, things such as the lava graphics and special lighting caused a huge drop in fps,” Bennett writes. “Also, trying to play a game on Android wear is a nightmare within itself. The app offers touchscreen controls, but on a 1.65 inch screen, they are almost impossible to use. Also, swiping to the left causes the screen to go back to the previous window. “

Michael Jackson Could Have Played Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars

The King of Pop reportedly desired the role of Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. Ahmed Best, the actor who starred as Jar Jar, said he had beaten Michael Jackson out for the infamous role in the Star Wars prequel films, according to a Vice interview.

The actor related an incident where he, Natalie Portman (Padme Amadala) and Star Wars director George Lucas met Jackson and his wife at the time Lisa Marie

backstage after a concert at Wembley arena.

“George introduced me as ‘Jar Jar’ and I was like, That’s kind of weird,” Best said. “Michael was like, ‘Oh. OK.’ I thought, What is going on?”

IGN SPOTLIGHT

It Follows

After a positive debut at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival, It Follows received a wider release earlier this year to significant critical acclaim. A hauntingly original and genuinely unsettling take on the slasher genre, It Follows is basically The Ring with sex. The curse here is a slow-moving but relentless killer apparition who appears – but is only visible to you – when you sleep with someone already cursed, who’s now passed on the curse to you. The only way to escape is to sleep with someone new, who will in turn be stalked.

6 Wrestlers Who Never Recovered After a John Cena Feud

With WWE's Battleground now over and its dust finally settling, it appears that John Cena's multi-PPV feud with Kevin Owens has come to a close. And as U.S. Champ Cena likely heads back up into the main event to face Seth Rollins at SummerSlam for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship (though that match is not officially announced yet as we publish this piece), it's hard not to worry for Owens, who now might not only hop down to the mid-card, but perhaps even off RAW entirely as he has an NXT TakeOver main event against Finn Balor to focus on.

Why be actively worried for Owens though? He's a veteran of the business and an incredible talent. Why are we fretting for his future? Well, because some of the up-and-comers who have feuded with Cena have gone on to do... not much else. Now, to be fair, feuds with Cena helped make the likes of Edge and Randy Orton, who both benefitted greatly from working main events with the guy. And back when WWE had two world titles, twice as many guys were able to orbit the main event picture.

First Hands-On with Doom Multiplayer

Editor’s Note: Because of how crowded the Doom area was at QuakeCon, I was only able to play one match of multiplayer. These are my early impressions. I’ll update the story tomorrow after I’ve had more time with the game.

I was pretty sure game developers were running out of ways to creatively kill people in video games. Then I played some Doom multiplayer at QuakeCon 2015.

Here’s a thing that can happen during a round of Team Deathmatch.

In the loadout menu, you can choose to carry around a personal teleporter instead of a trusty frag grenade. After throwing the device, you tap your equipment button again to warp yourself to its location. If you’re lucky or skilled enough to land the teleporter directly beneath an enemy, well… something’s gotta give – and it’s the fleshy body of the unfortunate person you just warped into.
