Heroes Reborn Character Posters
This September, Heroes returns to NBC in a revamped form with the new sequel series, Heroes Reborn. Jack Coleman is back as Noah Bennet, and there will be appearances by several original characters, including Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka), Matt Parkman (Greg Grunberg), Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) and The Haitian (Jimmy Jean-Louis). However, we’ll also be meeting and focusing on a ton of new characters, and IGN has your first look at two of them.
Check out the special animated motion posters below to see Judith Shekoni (Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 2) as Joanne and Robbie Kay (Once Upon a Time) as Tommy.
Awkward teen Tommy just wants to be normal and win the girl of his dreams, Emily (Gatlin Green), but normalcy is virtually impossible after learning of a new ability that terrifies him.
Who Is Marvel’s ‘Totally Awesome’ Hulk?
A lot will be changing in the Marvel Universe after Secret Wars. One of the bigger changes is that there will be an entirely new Hulk in the pages of Greg Pak and Frank Cho's Totally Awesome Hulk. We don't know much about this new character other than that he's not Bruce Banner, he seems to be younger and more immature, there's something strange going on with his left hand and he actually enjoys being the Hulk.
David Cross Discusses Efforts to Make Destiny Funny
From the sounds of it, Destiny could have been a much funnier game. That's because comedians David Cross and Brian Posehn apparently spent "a couple of days" writing witty one-lines for Ghost.
Cross stopped by IGN's London office to discuss his career - more of which can be heard on the IGN UK podcast this Friday - and when talk turned to games, the Arrested Development star opened up about his work on Bungie's shooter.
"Brian Posehn and I got asked and jumped at the chance," he explained. "We were flown up to Bellevue, Washington to do a punch-up on the Ghost character in Destiny about a year ago. We were both very excited about it. They did not use a single, solitary thing that we wrote, which is a shame because we wrote some stuff that – you know, we’re gamers, and they… – I would imagine somebody somewhere said, 'We can’t inject this levity or humour into it.'
Original Voice of Ryo Coming Back to Shenmue 3
Corey Marshall, the voice actor who played Ryo in the English versions of Shenmue 1 & 2, has been confirmed for Shenmue 3.
The announcement came via a post on the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter page. "We would all like to thank Corey-san for coming back, and especially for all the support he has given to Shenmue over the years," the update says.
Additionally, some of the pledge tiers have been updated for backers to get a personalized message from Ryo.
"Do not miss this opportunity to get a very special message from Ryo himself. Maybe one those classic Ryo one-liners?" says the announcement. This message will be for people who pledge at least $1,000 to the Kickstarter campaign. Following last week's update, we know more rewards will be announced later this week.
Miiverse Set For Redesign and New Features This Summer
Nintendo has announced Miiverse will be getting a redesign and new features this summer.
The Wii U and 3DS social network will look different after the update, while users will also be able to save up to 100 screenshots in personal albums that won't be visible to other users.
A new Play Journal feature will also allow you to record your thoughts on games as you play them. It's accessed by opening Miiverse when you're playing, doing so will also take a screenshot to show what was happening in the game when you did so, unless the game doesn't support screenshots. The Play Journal is a replacement for posting to your activity feed, so you won't be able to do this any longer once the redesign launches.
Nintendo Responds to Negative Metroid Prime Reaction
Nintendo has acknowledged fan reaction to Metroid Prime: Federation Force has been largely negative, saying "there's no sugar-coating it."
Speaking to Mashable, Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aime acknowledged that fans were disappointed not to see a traditional Metroid Prime game make an appearance - especially given how high fan demand has been - but that the company was adamant it had to avoid older franchises becoming stale.
"We're taking our great IP and transforming them and making them new again - making them fresh and appealing for the fan who feels they know the franchise," he said. "But we're giving them new things to enjoy.
