No Plans for Amiibo Support in Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

In an interview with IGN, The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes director Hiromasa Shikata confirmed there's currently no plans to support amiibo in the upcoming co-op Zelda game.

"I think it's really something as simple as this game isn't a natural fit for it," Shikata explained. "I think

because we're focused on giving players the ability to choose different outfits to impact their experience within the game. We didn't think amiibo added anything other than what games with it are already doing."

"There's no reason to shoehorn it in," he concluded.

Michael Keaton, J.K. Simmons Exit Kong: Skull Island

Both Michael Keaton and J.K. Simmons are no longer involved in Legendary Pictures' upcoming reboot Kong: Skull Island.

According to Deadline, scheduling conflicts are the primary reason for the departure of both Keaton and Simmons. That said, Tom Hiddleston is still aboard to star in the film, despite its recent production delay to just before year's end.

Legendary doesn't want to delay filming any further, and as such is currently seeking to fill the void left by the departures of both actors as soon as possible.

Allison Road Keeps the Horror of PT Alive

Allison Road is an upcoming horror game described by the creator as an homage to Silent Hills and its standalone teaser PT. As you can see from the new prototype gameplay trailer above, however, Allison Road is very much its own game.

Perhaps the thing Allison Road shares the most with PT is its photorealistic style, which is all thanks to the power of Unreal Engine 4. There's also a ghost girl that looks like a spawn of PT's Lisa.

Gameplay-wise, Allison Road seems to have more in common with Gone Home, but scary. As shown in the early gameplay video, players are tasked with exploring a house, examining objects and trying to uncover the mystery of what happened there.

GameFace’s VR Headset Wants to Do It All

For our first look at GameFace Lab’s virtual-reality headset, CEO Ed Mason began our demo with a blitz of specs: the self-contained unit has a Nvidia Tegra chip and an 75Hz OLED display with 140 degree field of view, runs on a battery pack that lasts for up to 7 hours, supports Android Lollipop 5.0, and can be used with peripherals like the Nod Ring or Nvidia’s Shield controller.

It’ll also support Steam VR – the same cable that connects the unit to a battery pack can be used with an HDMI / USB adapter that allows the headset to be plugged into a PC for data and power draw. The model I saw was an early prototype, though, so it lacked the Lighthouse sensors necessary for a PC demo.

You Can Play The Division at Comic-Con Next Weekend

Ubisoft has revealed its plans for Comic-Con 2015, which will include Tom Clancy's The Division in playable form.

The open-world role-playing shooter will be featured in the Xbox lounge at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, where folks will get some hands-on time with the game's Dark Zone multiplayer ahead of its beta, which is coming later this year.

Additionally, Ubi is bringing back the Assassin's Creed Experience for its second year, which includes an obstacle course themed after Victorian-era London.

The publisher will also be having an Assassin's Creed Syndicate panel on July 10 at 2pm PT to discuss the making of the series' next installment. Both Paul Amos and Victoria Atkin, the actors who play Jacob and Evie Frye, will be in attendance, alongside creative director Marc-Alexis Cote.

Battlecry Aims to Mix Your Favorite Action Games Together

Compared to Bethesda’s bigger titles, Battlecry received only a modest chunk of time at its first-ever E3 press conference, giving the team a chance to announce a new playable faction and an upcoming beta. Fortunately, that wasn’t Battlecry’s only chance to shine. The game was actually playable on the show floor, so I went and sunk a few solid rounds into it before grilling the developers for something a bit more substantial than what they shared on stage.

As we noted when we saw the game prior to last year’s E3, its distinct aesthetic recalls certain aspects of Bethesda portfolio-mate Dishonored (which was developed just across town in Austin, TX): the vaguely Victorian uniforms of the Royal Warriors, the steampunk-influenced environments, and, perhaps most obviously, the use of blades and bolts over bullets. Structurally, however, Battlecry more closely resembles Team Fortress 2 in that each character class comes with completely different weapons, abilities, and attributes, which means teamwork drastically improves your life expectancy.
