Female Footballer to Feature on FIFA 16 Cover in Australia

In a first for the franchise EA is inviting FIFA fans to vote for a local player they want to see on the cover of FIFA 16 in certain regions.

From June 16 to July 5, FIFA players can help decide who will join global cover athlete Lionel Messi on the cover of the game in Australia, France, Latin America, Mexico, and the UK. Each of the five participating regions have a number of eligible players to select from.

For the Australian cover the three candidates are currently competing in 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup: Steph Catley, who first represented her country in 2012 and is making her Matildas debut at the Women’s World Cup, Matildas vice-captain Kyah Simon, who represented Australia for the first time back in 2007, and AFC 2014 Women’s Player of the Year Katrina Gorry, who made her debut for Australia in 2012. Eligible players for the other territories should be revealed shortly.

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Has Me Pumped for Gears 4

Gears of War: Ultimate Edition is almost exactly as I remember it. This, as you may imagine, was hardly a revelation. I am still terrible, it is still beautiful, and competitive multiplayer is still terrific.

Two matches of multiplayer was enough to remind me how much Gears of War has changed -- and how much I miss the way things were.

Check out some Gears of War: Ultimate Edition multiplayer gameplay

If Gears of War's HD update is missing anything, it's the refined controls from Gears of Wars: Judgment. The refinements to its combat are much more subtle. Cover is slightly less sticky than it used to be, but still sticky enough to underscore exactly how drastically the series has improved over the past decade. The over-the-shoulder aiming is adjusted just enough to make me miss every single Gnasher shot I tried to land. Every last one. Nobody in my matches pulled off the classic Gnasher trick of sending a sprinting foe splashing across the ground in a half-dozen pieces out of a roadie run. I thought i was going crazy. The Coalition's Rod Fergusson told me it was one of many minor tweaks to Ultimate Edition.

Uncharted 4: Brand New Gameplay Revealed

Closing out Sony's E3 2015 press conference (and after a slightly cringe-inducing false start), a brand-new stretch of Uncharted 4: A Thief's End gameplay was demonstrated.

The action-heavy level saw series hero Nathan Drake reunited with his mentor Sully, who teamed up for a shootout in the crowded hillside market stalls of what appeared to be a South American city, before they both sped off in a downhill chase in a mud-covered jeep.

Drake displayed some brand new combat moves, including a spectacular flying punch that saw him knock an enemy down and catch their discarded gun in the one movement.

The world itself looks far more open than fans have come to expect from previous Uncharted games, and the level of environmental destruction appears to have been ratcheted up to new heights – particularly in the market stall section of the demo which saw almost everything splintering into pieces under a hail of bullets.

Star Wars: Battlefront – First Co-op Multiplayer Details

A new Star Wars: Battlefront trailer debuted on Sony’s E3 press conference stage today, and the footage for DICE’s new shooter detailed what’s to come in the two-player cooperative missions.

Watch the trailer above.

The objective-based "Survival" multiplayer mode showcased two Rebel Alliance soldiers fighting off waves of AI Stormtroopers, including a special cloaked unit, as well as AT-STs, while defending a control point on Tatooine. Playable hero units such as Luke Skywalker will feature in co-op as well. The quick look concluded with an Imperial Star Destroyer sinking onto the surface of the planet -- similar to the imagery we saw in the first trailer.
