Game of Thrones’ Season 5 Premiere Was the Most Watched Episode Ever
About 8 million people watched the Season 5 premiere of Game of Thrones, making it the most watched Game of Thrones episode ever.
The data comes from Nielsen (via Variety). Last year's Season 4 premiere garnered 6.84 million viewers -- about 1.16 million (or 17%) shy of this year's episode, The Wars to Come.
That's about 800,000 more views than any other Game of Thrones episode, as well.
Game of Thrones is back, so return to IGN every Sunday for a full episode review. For now, catch up with our review of Game of Thrones Season 5, Episode 1: The Wars to Come.
Nordic Games Buys Rights to Men of Valor
The Men of Valor property is now a part of the Nordic Games Publishing lineup.
Nordic Games has acquired the historical shooter property from 2015 Games, which developed the first and only game in the series. "With the addition of this IP, our shooter portfolio becomes enriched with a real classic," said Reinhard Pollice, business and product development director at Nordic Games, in a statement. “It feels great to have a piece of FPS history under our umbrella."
This isn't the first time Nordic Games has purchased a property from another publisher or developer. Nordic also bought the rights to Darksiders, Red Faction, MX vs. ATV and more from THQ for $4.9 million USD in 2013.

The Toughest Monsters You’ve Ever Fought
We recently played quite a bit of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, this month's IGN First. The game's world boasts a wide variety of monsters, so you'll have to stay on your toes.
Some aren't as difficult as others, though, and we started thinking about the most fearsome baddies we've faced in all of gaming. We were curious about which enemies had the worst reputations, so we took to Twitter to ask you: What's the toughest monster you've ever fought?

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Makes Monsters Feel Real
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is wonderfully obsessed with monsters, despite focussing on a protagonist who’s main calling is the extermination of such hideous beasts. It raids various mythology, theology, folklore nature, and literature, with a keen eye for the weird and hideous; it steals from all of them and blends them together, producing a rich and unusual bestiary.
One of the first encounters comes in the game’s prologue, and it’s with a particularly angry Griffin. For us, the half-lion, half-eagle chimera is a well-known remnant of Greek literature, but for Geralt, it’s a terrifying creature and a pest, whose origin can possibly be traced back to the Conjunction, a cataclysmic event in which such unnatural creations where trapped in his reality. Some dispute this, believing Griffins to be indigenous creatures, but I think this idea of the Conjunction in the fiction of The Witcher is such a brilliant one. There’s a book in the original game which contains a description of this event:
Daredevil: Deborah Ann Woll Delves into Karen Page’s Dark Path
Warning: References to Daredevil through episode 5 follow...
If you're like us, you're probably well on your way through a binge watching marathon of Netflix's Daredevil - if you haven't already finished. Prior to the full release of the series, IGN was able to screen the first five episodes and sit down for a chat with the series' leads. During our conversation with Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), we touched on some things that would be spoilers for those who hadn't yet seen - at the very least - the first few installments in the Netflix series.
If you've made it through episode 5 you're in a safe place here. If you've watched the entire season, these topics still remain relevant through the season finale.
