Mike Tyson, CGI Bruce Lee to Feature in Ip Man 3

Former heavyweight boxing champ Mike Tyson is joining the cast of Ip Man 3, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Principal photography for the film has begun today in Shanghai, China.

Pegasus Motion Pictures chairman and Ip Man 3 producer Raymond Wong told THR that the idea to bring Tyson aboard dates back two years, after Tyson opened up an account on Chinese microblogging platform Weibo and asked, “Who is the best fighter in China?”

“Someone answered him 'Donnie Yen,’ and that gave me an idea,” said Wong. “For the third installment in the Ip Man series, we want to have an explosive fight, and Mike Tyson versus Donnie Yen fits the bill.”

Mars Might Host Carbon Monoxide Munching Microbes

The search for alien life on Mars is still on, and one scientist has a novel idea about what Martian organisms might eat: carbon monoxide.

According to a PNAS-published (Procedings of the National Academy of Sciences) article by Louisiana State University biologist Gary King, the atmosphere on Mars contains enough CO to leech into the soil and feed microorganisms. Many scientists think Mars might be home to life living under its polar ice caps or in salty water beneath the soil, but the recent discovery of two terrestrial microbes living off carbon monoxide gives new insight into just how such a creature might survive.

Powers: Developing Wolfe’s Fighting Style

Note: This article contains spoilers for the most recent episode of Powers.

The most powerful Power we've met in PlayStation Network's Powers is Wolfe. Portrayed by Eddie Izzard, the character is animalistic and complex. He seemingly doesn't want to hurt others, but then literally rips into them with incredible ferocity. There isn't anything poetic about the way he cannibalizes others, and the act strengthens his powers. And his abilities blur into each other to become one massive power. During a set visit to Powers, Izzard took out his phone to look up a note he made about Wolfe's specific powers. He couldn't locate the list but said, "It can be just a myriad of powers. That's why it's a confusing truckload. It's just dangerous. It's just all the powers."

Tatooine Namesake Now Backdrop to ISIS Campaign

The Tunisian town that inspired the name of Luke Skywalker's home planet has become a focal point in a very real war.

Tataouine, a remote community from which George Lucas took the name of the desert planet Tatooine in his Star Wars saga, has become a backdrop in Tunisia's struggle to prevent the terrorist organization ISIS from gaining a foothold there.

"This struggling town on the fringes of the Sahara still draws a few fans of the movie but now finds itself part of a real conflict, as a way-station for jihadists crossing the Libyan border 60 miles to the east," reports CNN. "Two arms caches have also been found in the region this month ... Tunisians say their country is at a crossroads as it tries to fend off the jihadist contagion seeping across North Africa. Their democracy is young and vulnerable."

Moon Colonization Might be Possible After All

Harsh conditions make living on the surface of Earth's moon unlikely, but a team of researchers have discovered it may be possible to live underground.

A recent theoretical study presented by Purdue University's Jay Melosh at the Lunar and Planetary Science Conference posits there might be large tube-shaped volcanic features beneath the moon's surface.

"There has been some discussion of whether lava tubes might exist on the moon," Melosh said. "Some evidence, like the sinuous rilles observed on the surface, suggest that if lunar lava tubes exist they might be really big."
