Could Miles Morales be Marvel’s Spider-Man?

If a new rumor is anything to go by, the Spider-Man we see in Marvel's Cinematic Universe will not be Peter Parker.

Reliable source Jeff Sneider (from the trade site TheWrap) made the claim during an appearance on Meet the Movie Press podcast.

"This is not set in stone guys, but I’m telling you right now, Spider-Man’s not going to be white", said Sneider. "Spider-Man’s not going to be white. I am 95% sure. Spider-Man’s most likely going to be black. But there’s a chance he could also be Latino. 95% sure, not white."

Although Sneider did not specifically mention Miles Morales - a teen of Black Hispanic descent who took over the Spidey role in 2011's Ultimate Comics: Spider-Man series, and the obvious choice for a non-white Spidey character - he was firm in his belief that the next Spider-Man would not be Peter Parker.

Kentucky Police Blame Elsa for Cold Weather

Thanks to one of the most brutal winters on record, police departments have decided it's high time to punish Frozen's Queen Elsa for her crimes. While the Harlan, Kentucky police have issued a warrant for the snow queen, she was arrested in Hanahan, South Carolina.

Last week, the Harlan City Policed Department put out an all points bulletin on its Facebook page, announcing that it had issued an arrest warrant for the Queen of Arendelle. Harlan just so happens to be the primary setting for FX's Justified, so we'd like to believe US Marshal Raylan Givens was involved.

Sony Files Twisted Metal Trademark in Europe

A trademark filing by Sony in Europe for Twisted Metal has been discovered.

Website junkiemonkeys.com unearthed the trademark filing on the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market website. The filing is for a community trade mark, or CTM, for classes 9, 28, and 41, which are computer games, toys, and electronic game services provided by the internet, respectively.

The last Twisted Metal game was 2012's PS3 game of the same title. The series debuted in 1995 on the original PlayStation with Twisted Metal. Which is a bit confusing. Other games in the series that aren't simply named "Twisted Metal" include 2001's Twisted Metal: Black for PS2 and 2005's Twisted Metal: Head On for the PlayStation Portable .

Late Comics Fan’s Batman Obituary

According to his obituary, 31-year-old Stephen Merrill passed away on February 12 by an "uppercut from Batman."

According to the ABC, Merrill died suddenly and his family didn't yet have an official cause of death when they made funeral arrangements. Florida publication The Ledger required the obituary to include a cause of death, so Merrill's close friend Brandon Moxam suggested listing the cause of death as an "uppercut from Batman."
