Comic Book Reviews for January 14, 2015
With the Star Wars license going from Dark Horse back to Marvel, the House of Ideas has begun publishing Star Wars comics again. This week marks their big first issue, Star Wars #1 by Jason Aaron and John Cassaday. Produced by Marvel's top talent and rumored to sell a million copies, this is pretty much The Force Awakens for the comic world.
It's such a big release that we decided to try something new for the review here on IGN. There's the normal written review, but we also produced the first-ever video review for a comic book on IGN -- something normally reserved for video games and movies. Please check it out and let us know what you think in the comments, as it's something we'd like to do more of in the future.
’80s Miami Vice-inspired Indie Racing Game Revealed
Developer Super System Softworks has revealed a retro-inspired arcade racing game for PC, Mac, and Linux, tentatively scheduled for a December 2015 release.
Drift Stage is a racing game that relies on drifting gameplay mechanics, and elicits a distinct '80s style, according to the Drift Stage website. The game’s Miami Vice-inspired pastel colored graphics and synth-pop soundtrack draw inspiration from classic arcade games like OutRun 2 and Ridge Racer.
The developer is aiming to make a game that is “easy to learn and immediately fun” with very simple controls, while also offering challenge and depth to advanced players.

Captain America 2 Writers on Adapting Civil War for the MCU
During the TCA (Television Critics Association) press tour today, IGN joined a small group of journalists to chat with Captain America: The First Avenger/Captain America: The Winter Soldier screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely about returning to write the third film, Captain America: Civil War (and their TV series Agent Carter, but more on that later).
Naturally, with Marvel's formidable secrecy, there were few specifics they could give on the film, which -- like the comic book story it's based on -- will involve Captain America and Iron Man at odds with one another. However, they did touch on the Black Panther casting, the relationship between Tony Stark and Peggy Carter, balancing the Civil War comic storyline with the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the film's tone.
Capcom Pushes Back Resident Evil: Revelations 2 Release One Week
Capcom is delaying its upcoming episodic horror adventure, Resident Evil: Revelations 2, by one week for “polishing work and gameplay optimisation.”
Originally scheduled for a February 17 release, the first episode is now scheduled to launch on February 25 worldwide (that's February 24 for North America) for Xbox One, Xbox 360, Steam, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4.
Capcom confirmed that release schedule for Resident Evil: Revelations 2 for the remaining three episodes will roll out weekly on March 4, March 11 and March 18, respectively. A retail release consisting of all four episodes will launch on March 20 in Europe and March 18 in North America.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Rhys-Davies will play King Eventine, the grandfather of Amberle who has ruled over Arborlon for decades. The Walking Dead Adds New Series Regular
The Walking Dead has added yet another series regular, as Ross Marquand is set to join the cast.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Marquand (Down and Dangerous) will appear in AMC's hit zombie series sometime in the second half of Season 5, and will likely return for The Walking Dead's previously announced sixth season.
While AMC isn't ready to share details on Marquand's character, early speculation suggests that he may play Aaron, an Alexandria resident from The Walking Dead comic series. It's a safe bet as the series' creator, Robert Kirkman, said they'll be introducing a "very prominent gay character from the comic" in the second half of Season 5.
