Nicolas Cage Wants to Play an ‘Absolutely Terrifying’ Egghead Against Pattinson’s Batman

Nicolas Cage wants to oppose Robert Pattinson in a future Batman film, and his dream role is a fascinating deep cut. In an interview with an Austin news channel at SXSW, Cage was asked if there are any roles he still wants to play. The actor responded, saying he'd like to play a very specific DC supervillain.

"We have this new [movie with] Robert Pattinson as The Batman, which I'm excited to see. I haven't seen it yet but I think he would be terrific." Cage said. "The villain that Vincent Price played on the 60s show, Egghead, I think I want to have a go at Egghead. I think I can make him absolutely terrifying. And I have a concept for Egghead. So let them know over at Warner Bros., I'm down for Egghead."

Egghead is a master criminal who happens to be one of the smartest men in the world, and he actually figures out Batman's identity in the series. He only eats grade triple-A white eggs, and he never pays for anything. In the 1960s Batman television show starring Adam West as the Caped Crusader, Egghead appeared in six episodes. The character has also appeared in Batman: The Brave and the Bold animated series, and had a cameo in The Lego Batman Movie.

Robert Pattinson's Batman already encountered The Riddler, Penguin, and Catwoman in The Batman, and Director Matt Reeves has already teased another familiar foe who could appear in future sequels. While there's currently no clear path forward for Egghead to appear in this universe, we have looked into five comics that could shape the next Batman movie. If you haven't seen it yet, check out our The Batman review.

Nicolas Cage's next project is The Unbearable Weight Of Massive Talent, where the actor stars as himself in an action-comedy where he must accept a $1 million offer to attend the birthday of an unhinged superfan. For more on the actor, you can learn why Nicolas Cage gave up karaoke for good.

Rockstar Fixes GTA Online Account Migration Problem

Players unable to migrate their GTA Online characters to next-gen consoles are now able to.

Rockstar announced on Twitter (below) that save migration is now working as intended just a few hours after it acknowledged the issue.

Early during the launch period users playing on the newly released PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions of GTA V were unable to transfer their characters from previous generation consoles if they'd already done so to PC. This issue has now been resolved.

The PS5 and Xbox Series versions include much faster loading times, new graphics modes, and a number of other performance upgrades including "increased population and traffic variety, increased vegetation density, improved lighting quality across shadows, water reflections, and other elements."

While users won't be given a free upgrade to GTA V as it arrives on its third generation of consoles, Rockstar announced last week that a special price-point will be available for the first three months.

On PS5, standalone GTA Online is free for that period while the complete GTA V package is 75% off at $9.99 USD / £8.75 / $14.99 AUD. On Xbox Series, meanwhile, GTA Online costs $9.99 USD / £8.99 / $15.47 AUD and the full version is $19.99 USD / £17.49 / $29.97AUD.

After those three months, GTA V will return to its normal price of $39.99 USD / £34.99 / $59.95 AUD on all next-gen platforms.

Ms. Marvel: The Entire Cast of the Disney+ MCU Show (So Far)

Ms. Marvel will introduce Kamala Khan to the MCU, together with a number of other characters who will make their onscreen debuts alongside Iman Vellani's titular superhero.

Set to premiere on Disney+ on June 8, Ms. Marvel will follow Kamala Khan, a Pakistani-American teenager described by Marvel as "a great student, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe" who has "a special affinity for superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel," before she discovers her own "super powers like the heroes she's always looked up to."

Keep reading for a rundown of who is appearing in Ms. Marvel — and don't forget to bookmark the page, as we'll be updating this article with all-new casting announcements.

Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel

During Disney's Investor Day 2020, Kevin Feige confirmed that newcomer Iman Vellani had been cast in the title role of Ms. Marvel "after a long search." The series will serve as an origin story for Kamala Khan as well as set-up for the 2023 film The Marvels, in which Vellani will reprise her role alongside Brie Laron's Carol Danvers and Teyonah Parris' Monica Rambeau.

Matt Lintz as Bruno Carrelli

Despite feeling invisible both at home and at school, Kamala will have some friends by her side in the Disney+ Ms. Marvel series. Murphy's Multiverse shared that Matt Lintz had been tapped for a key role on the show, playing Kamala's best friend and trusted confidant Bruno Carrelli. He appeared alongside the show's eponymous hero in the first trailer.

Yasmeen Fletcher as Nakia Bahadir

Yasmeen Fletcher will play another of Kamala Khan's best friends, Nakia Bahadir. As Murphy's Multiverse points out, the character famously wears a hijab in the comics, which raised some concerns over whether the live-action series would stay true to this important cultural aspect. Fletcher later confirmed on Instagram that Nakia will be wearing a hijab in the series.

Rish Shah as Kamran

Twitter user @MsMarvelUK shared an image from British Vogue that confirmed Rish Shah had entered the superhero universe to play Kamran, the male lead in the Disney+ series. Kamran is a love interest to Kamala and appears in the first trailer clutching a bunch of red roses, though it seems to be nothing more than a daydream from Kamala's outsized imagination.

Zenobia Shroff as Muneeba Khan

Another member of Ms. Marvel's casting line-up is Zenobia Shroff, who is starring in the series as Muneeba Khan, Kamala's mom. In the comics, Kamala often clashed with her parents over adhering to Muslim traditions and values, but she was still very close to them. The first trailer confirmed that Kamala remains a practising Muslim in the MCU.

Mohan Kapur as Yusuf Khan

Bollywood actor Mohan Kapur is playing Yusuf Khan, Kamala's father in the upcoming superhero series. In her newest solo title The Magnificent Ms. Marvel, Kamala travelled to a distant world to defend its inhabitants from an invading force but later returned home to personal tragedy, learning that her father had been afflicted with an incurable rare disease – thankfully, we haven't seen anything of that nature in the MCU version yet.

Laurel Marsden as Zoe Zimmer

Laurel Marsden will also be making the jump into the MCU to play Zoe Zimmer, a character who was introduced in 2014's Ms. Marvel (Vol. 3) #1. In the comic books, Zimmer was the first person that Ms. Marvel rescued - after she fell into the Hudson River - even though she was initially perceived as somewhat of a "frenemy" to Kamala at Coles Academic High School.

Aramis Knight as Kareem, aka Red Dagger

Aramis Knight joined the cast of Ms. Marvel as Kareem, aka Red Dagger, a crimefighting character who has a familial connection with the Khan family. According to his Marvel Fandom page, Kareem lived with Kamala's grandmother in Karachi while completing his university studies in the day, and transformed into the masked hero known as Red Dagger by night.

Other Actors

Vellani will be joined by several supporting cast members, including Saagar Shaikh who is portraying Aamir Khan, Kamala's older brother; Travina Springer as Tyesha Hillman, Kamala's sister-in-law; and Laith Nakli as Sheikh Abdullah, Kamala's religious mentor. Azhar Usman and Nimra Bucha will also star in the series, though their roles have yet to be confirmed.

Xbox Cloud Gaming Receives Performance Update On iPhone and iPad

Microsoft has rolled out a new update to Xbox Cloud Gaming which should improve the experience for players using the service with an iPhone or iPad.

"You asked for a better iOS experience, and as a result, we have brought major performance improvements to all supported iPhone and iPad devices," the latest blog post from Xbox Product Managers Nicole Hilbert and Akshar Pandia write.

Given that latency is critical in cloud gaming, these new updates should provide lower latency when Xbox Cloud Gaming players use the service on their iPhones or iPads.

Microsoft released Xbox Cloud Gaming on Apple devices nearly a year ago. Unfortunately, there is no dedicated app on Apple devices like there is on Android devices due to Apple's app store policies, though this policy also impacts other cloud gaming services such as Nvidia's GeForce Now and Google Stadia, too.

So if you are playing the service on an Apple device, you will need to play it on a web browser like Safari on these devices which have their own issues as it is not a dedicated app experience. We even pointed out some issues such as latency in our review and noted that it felt pretty rough.

Xbox Cloud Gaming launched nearly two years ago, and since then, Microsoft has been rolling out many meaningful updates to improve the experience. Last October, the service is now fully powered by custom Xbox Series X hardware, though you still cannot stream games on the service in 4K.

Nevertheless, Microsoft has made it clear that it has been all-in on gaming within the last year. While it will still retain that playing its games within Xbox hardware will remain the true flagship experience, the company intends to bring the Xbox ecosystem to products like smart TVs and streaming sticks.

Even beyond Microsoft's expanding the Xbox ecosystem to non-game console devices, the tech and software mogul also released Xbox Cloud Gaming on its own consoles last year. Meaning you can stream these games on the cloud without taking up storage on the system and it will extend the Xbox One's lifespan slightly as Series X/S console exclusives like Starfield will be playable on the older Xbox hardware thanks to the cloud gaming service.

Dino Crisis Fans Aren’t Feeling Great About Capcom’s Exoprimal Announcement

The announcement of Exoprimal last week saw Capcom formally return to the world of human vs. dinosaur combat for the first time since 2003 – but many fans of the long-dormant Dino Crisis series haven't reacted well to the new game.

Dino Crisis first appeared in 1999, combining the survival horror spirit of Resident Evil with a dinosaur breakout storyline drawn from the likes of Jurassic Park. It hasn't seen a new entry since 2003, but retained a cult following over the intervening years. When last week's Sony State of Play showed a Capcom game featuring dinosaur combat and a redheaded character with a resemblance to Dino Crisis' lead, Regina, many thought the wait was over.

But that hope was dashed when it was revealed to be a seemingly entirely separate co-op action game, Exoprimal. Over on the Dino Crisis subreddit, the response has been less than positive, with users calling the announcement "tone deaf", "cruel trolling", and "slapdash nonsense".

That feeling has been deepened by the fact that Hiroyuki Kobayashi – planner of the original Dino Crisis and producer on its two mainline sequels – has announced that he's involved in Exoprimal's development on Twitter.

Shortly after his post, multiple Twitter users replied to ask Kobayashi to remake Dino Crisis, or release a sequel, seemingly instead of Exoprimal. Others have gone as far as to say that the game was altered from being a Dino Crisis entry: "You cannot convince me this wasn't a Dino Crisis game at some point in development," said stovetopism on Reddit.

Others have remained more hopeful based on Kobayashi's involvement, with several speculating whether Exoprimal represents Capcom testing its audience's interest for a dinosaur-based game. "Oh dear," said Reddit user T_sprigg_Z about Kobayashi's announcement. "Unless this is meant to gauge interest in Dinosaur video games at the moment. I really hope that’s the case."

However, Redditor GuiltyCombo doesn't think that, if this is a test of some kind, it will result in what the community wants: "They'll act surprised when it tanks and assume no one wants dinosaur games. They always learn the wrong lessons."

It remains unclear what plans, if any, Capcom has for Dino Crisis – or if Exoprimal is in any way meant to be connected to it. The developer did renew the trademark for the name in 2019, but hasn't publicly commented on any new games in the series since.

Exoprimal is set to arrive for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Steam in 2023.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands Will Have Full Cross-Play, and Local Split-Screen

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will have multiple options for co-op, including local split-screen and full cross-play online.

For local split-screen, up to four players can play locally on PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series consoles, while PS4 and Xbox One are capped at two. Players can also choose between vertical or horizontal split-screen orientation.

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands can also be played online with up to four players, across all available systems. Players on Xbox, PlayStation and PC can all play together through the Epic Games Store and Gearbox's SHiFT Matchmaking.

All versions of co-op will also offer two gameplay options for determening how loot drops and enemies scale during multiplayer.

The inclusion of PlayStation cross-play is a step forward from Borderlands 3, as Gearbox announced last year that, while it was ready to update the game to allow co-op across platforms, it was told to pull support from the PS4 and PS5 versions.

Gearbox also recently announced that Tiny Tina's Wonderlands will receive four DLC instalments following its release on March 25.

Each new content drop will add a new illusionary world, each with five levels and a final boss that Gearbox designed to be played over and over, with increased risk and reward on each run.

In our final preview for Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, IGN said: "The mechanics of Wonderlands are solid, built on the tried and true Borderlands formula, and its pedigree is undeniable."

Xbox Series X DirectStorage Brings Better Loading Times to PC

Microsoft has announced that DirectStorage has finally arrived on Windows. The tech, previously used in Xbox Series X consoles, means PC games that support it will not only have more expansive and detailed in-game worlds but will have faster load times as well.

If you are unfamiliar with DirectStorage, it is an I/O system that was introduced in the Xbox Series X. DirectStorage is designed to use hardware compression and fast solid state drives (SSDs) to improve load times and reduce the CPU's workload, allowing the processor to focus on demanding elements such as physics or adding more NPCs.

Back in 2020 – a couple of months before the Xbox Series X launch Microsoft promised to bring this critical piece of tech to PCs.

As detailed in the latest DirectX Developer Blog, Microsoft says that DirectStorage is compatible with both Windows 10 and Windows 11 machines. However, the tech giant strongly encourages to use Windows 11, as the newer operating system has the latest storage optimizations built-in.

The announcement of DirectStorage coming to PC is great news for gamers who prefer that platform. Yet, it is important to note that there are no games available yet currently taking advantage of DirectStorage.

Although Microsoft has not disclosed exactly which games will support DirectStorage, we know that the action-RPG Forspoken will support the tech. Although the Forspoken was recently delayed to October , a virtual presentation at GDC next week will explain and break down how Luminous Productions implemented the Direct Storage API during the game's development.

Lost Co-Creator Damon Lindelof Reportedly Working on a New Star Wars Movie

Damon Lindelof – co-creator of Lost and The Leftovers, and creator the Watchmen TV series – is reportedly working on a new Star Wars movie.

According to The Ankler's Jeff Sneider, the writer/producer was approached to create a new entry in the Star Wars universe after publicly saying he'd like to work in that universe. Sneider has previously revealed unannounced details about a number of movies, including revealing the villains and even some of the less-expected protagonists of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

"At some point, but certainly not in the immediate future," Lindelof said in 2020, " I feel like I would love to do something in the Star Wars universe. Maybe a decade from now when I would no longer be blamed for ruining it. That would be a hoot.”

As Lindelof jokes about above, he remains a polarising figure for many fans. While his Watchmen and Leftovers series have been beloved, the finale of Lost and the controversial Star Trek Into Darkness have seen some fans question his work.

However, even if Lindelof is developing a Star Wars movie, recent history makes it clear that this isn't confirmation that he'll release one. Previously, a trilogy from Game of Thrones' David Benioff and D.B. Weiss was cancelled, a Rian Johnson trilogy seemingly remains in limbo, and multiple directors have been dropped from the more recent movies.

Even with those dropouts, there is a lot of Star Wars on the way, with Obi-Wan Kenobi set to premiere on Disney+ on May 25.
