The Suicide Squad director James Gunn will guest star on Harley Quinn.

According to /Film, Harley Quinn co-creator Patrick Schumacker revealed that Gunn will appear in Season 3 of the DC comic book show in a very meta cameo.

“He is playing himself,” he teased. “And [he] is directing a movie about Thomas Wayne.” Unfortunately, little else is known about Gunn’s cameo.

It sounds though, true to form, Harley Quinn will be getting a very meta appearance from the director who brought her to the big screen in the form of Margot Robbie. And a movie about Thomas Wayne could give Gunn plenty of room to have fun with the role.

After a wacky Season 2, it looks as though Season 3 is going to really up the ante, bringing some new episodes that long-time DC fans will love – especially for fans of the old Batman cartoons.

“We have an episode that's a big love letter to 'Batman: The Animated Series'" said Schumacker. “We even got some original backgrounds from the show that we use in the episode.”

It’s unclear when Season 3 will debut – Schumacker only says it’s coming “soon”. But the adults-only animated show is making plenty of fans with its off-kilter brand of comedy.

Elsewhere, Harley Quinn’s Kite Man will be starring in his own spin-off – a show that’s described as “Cheers for villains” which sees him running a bar where supervillains hang out.

IGN’s Harley Quinn Season 2 review says: “the series looks to be even stronger in its sophomore outing. The new status quo and a stronger emphasis on Gotham's villains help create a darker tone while still delivering all the zany, deep-cut DC humor fans could ask for. Season 2 may well succeed where Birds of Prey never quite did - exploring what happens when Harley sets out to become her own woman.”

Netflix has announced today that it is testing new features that target widespread password sharing with people outside your household. The test comes months after the streaming giant announced it was raising its monthly prices again.

In a new blog post, Netflix's director of product innovation, Chengyi Long, confirmed that the company is testing out these new features in three countries: Chile, Costa Rica, and Peru. During the testing period, subscribers in these countries will receive a prompt that allows them to add viewers who don't live in their household to their service package at a discounted price: 2,380 CLP in Chile, $2.99 USD in Costa Rica, and 7.9 PEN in Peru.

Additionally, Netflix announced another new feature that will allow subscribers to transfer profile information, such as viewing history and personalized recommendations, into either a new account or an Extra Member sub account.

"We've always made it easy for people who live together to share their Netflix account, with features like separate profiles and multiple streams in our Standard and Premium plans," Long said in the blog post. "While these have been hugely popular, they have also created some confusion about when and how Netflix can be shared."

This is not the first time Netflix has attempted to limit people sharing passwords for its service by implementing new features. Last year, Netflix introduced a new verification system in multiple countries, warning users that they would need to purchase their own subscription if they do not reside in the same household as the account owner. And, taking a closer look at Netflix's terms of service, the document notes that a subscriber's account "may not be shared with individuals beyond your household."

While Netflix once turned a blind eye to password sharing for its service, the company has been looking to curb widespread password sharing in recent years. Last April, Netflix CEO Ray Hastings confirmed during an Investor Relations interview that it "will test many things" as part of an effort to stop password sharing.

Multiverse flick Everything Everywhere All At Once stars Michelle Yeoh as Evelyn – a downtrodden laundromat owner who’s enlisted to save reality itself. But she wasn’t the first choice for the role.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan explained that the leading role was originally written for martial arts star Jackie Chan.

“At first we were like, ‘Action movie, going to star a dude’,” said Scheinert.

“We were having trouble figuring out the casting for the father figure,” added Kwan. “And one of us started wondering what happens if we take Michelle’s character and flop it and she becomes the protagonist. And the film just opened up in a completely different way.”

Michelle Yeoh was originally cast as the main character’s wife… but the filmmakers instead decided to make her the protagonist.

“We have these very strong moms and grandmoms, and we’re also both kind of dopey, gentle guys ourselves,” said Scheinert. “As soon as we switched it, we were like, ‘Oh, now the husband and wife characters are more relatable. Why on earth didn’t we write it this way from the get-go?'”

Of course, it’s easy to see how Chan would have brought his signature charm to the role as the everyman tasked with saving the multiverse.

But with the roles now switched, it was time to rethink who would play the husband, who the directors also felt would be appropriate for a Jackie Chan-type actor. In a separate interview with Vulture, Kwan revealed how he eventually decided to recast the role.

“The hardest thing about finding this role was that it required a lot of different skill sets,” said Kwan. “He had to be able to speak Cantonese, Mandarin, English. He had to know martial arts. But he also had to be an incredibly believable sappy pushover. One day, on Twitter, I saw a picture of Ke Quan as Short Round. My brain was like, ‘What is that guy doing right now?’”

Everything Everywhere All At Once sees Ke Huy Quan take the role of the ever-cheerful husband, Waymond. However, he’s best known for the role of Short Round in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.

Again, it’s easy to see Jackie Chan fitting well here, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Almost like a multiverse itself, Everything Everywhere All At Once followed a different path, leaving us wondering what reality would have been like with Jackie Chan in those roles. But I can’t help thinking our Michelle Yeoh universe is the best one.

Konami has renewed its Silent Hill trademark amid ongoing rumours that a reboot is on the way.

As reported by Video Games Chronicle, Reddit user LongJonSiIlver noticed the updated trademark which came alongside renewals for Frogger, Gradius, The Water Margin, and Tokimeki Memorial.

The Silent Hill trademark covers games, virtual reality headsets, and a number of other goods and services, though this isn't particularly unusual as Konami still sells a variety of Silent Hill merchandise.

Reports emerged throughout 2021 that Konami was working on a new Silent Hill when VGC again reported that it was planning reimagined versions of some of its most popular franchises.

Various other reports indicated that further Silent Hill games were in development but Konami hasn't given any official word on if this is the case.

The franchise has been dormant since 2012 outside of a very brief appearance in 2014's P.T. Konami released the playable teaser to tease a new game called Silent Hills, intended to be directed by Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro, but it was cancelled and removed from sale a few months later.

There are eight mainline games in the Silent Hill series, starting with the 1999 original (which IGN said was amazing) and ending 2012's Silent Hill: Downpour (which IGN said was bad).

A fire has broken out on the set of Disney’s live-action Snow White.

The stage at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom was under construction when a tree caught fire on Tuesday 15th March, resulting in a blaze on set. The local fire & rescue service arrived at the scene at 3:13 pm.

Although the dramatic scenes were caught on camera, it looks as though filming had yet to begin. “No filming was underway,” a source told Variety. The fire is believed to have happened at the Richard Attenborough stage in Pinewood Studios, with a video of the dramatic blaze appearing on Twitter.

“It was just mental,” an eyewitness told The Sun. “I didn't see it start but I was told first a tree went up. By the time I got there the flames were massive, going right up to the ceiling. Then bits of the set started falling into flames and the thatched cottage started lighting up.”

As you can see, the flames quickly engulf the tree before spreading to a nearby thatched cottage which would have been used in the film. It’s currently unknown what caused the fire, but no casualties were reported as a result, and no actors were on the set at the time.

Buckinghamshire Fire & Rescue Service confirmed: “At the height of the incident, 12 appliances and crews were in attendance.”

“Thames Valley Police and South Central Ambulance Service also attended to support the multi-agency response to the incident,” they confirmed. “The incident response was scaled back at around 7 pm.”

According to the Fire & Rescue Service, a fire crew remained at the scene overnight to monitor for hotspots. It’s currently unknown how this will affect production.

Disney’s Snow White has been in the works for some time and will star West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler as the iconic Disney princess. The Evil Queen will be played by none other than Wonder Woman star, Gal Gadot. The Amazing Spider-Man's Marc Webb is directing the Snow White live-action remake.

Songwriting duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul will write new music for the film, while some classic songs from the original animated movie, such as “Heigh-Ho”, “Someday My Prince Will Come”, and “Whistle While You Work” will remain.

While many fans were upset when J.K. Simmons didn't get a ton of screen time as Commissioner Jim Gordon in Justice League, the actor has confirmed he will be a much bigger part of the upcoming Batgirl film.

As reported by SlashFilm, Simmons was speaking to Discussing Film and he began by sharing his excitement over getting the call to return to the role of Commissioner Gordon, despite not really knowing what is going on with all this multiverse business.

"I'm still not sure I understand all the various multiverse aspects of, you know, DC or Marvel ... But yeah, I was completely surprised and very happy obviously," Simmons said. "I had a lengthy phone call sort of having the story laid out for me before I even saw a script, and it was actually way back in the middle of the summer I think that they first came to me and approached me about doing it. I just finished my part, they have several more weeks of shooting to do."

He also spoke on his expanded role in Batgirl, which would make sense considering he is the father of Barbara Gordon a.k.a. Batgirl.

"It's much more than I got to do in my brief stint as Commissioner Gordon in Zack Snyder's film," Simmons said. "And really, it was fun because it was a completely different side of Commissioner Gordon.

"All that we saw in the little snippets of Zack Snyder's Justice League, in either the original or in Zack's brilliant, expanded cut, it was just Commissioner Gordon being business-like and needing Batman's help. In this film, I think I'm allowed to say since it does center on Batgirl, we see much more of Commissioner Gordon at home."

Lastly Simmons took the time to praise Batgirl directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, saying they were like "two-year-old Weimaraners, who have been pent up in the back of a station wagon all day and somebody just let them loose."

"Dude, those guys are crazy! I don't know how they do it, and they had been shooting for four weeks or so by the time I joined," Simmons said. "I met them via Zoom, and I was under the L track outside of my boxing gym in Chicago when we first spoke. They just bring such an energy.

"I've already compared them to a couple of, like, two-year-old Weimaraners, who have been pent up in the back of a station wagon all day and somebody just let them loose. The energy and the passion that they bring for making movies was a really fun energy to be around and then the fact that they also really know what they're doing is a nice part of the overall experience."

Batgirl is set to be released on HBO Max in 2022 and will also star Leslie Grace as Batgirl/Barbara Gordon, Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Brendan Fraser as Garfield Lynns/Firefly, and Jacob Scipio in an unknown role.
