Mayans MC: Edward James Olmos to Star in Sons of Anarchy Spinoff
FX has cast the first star for its upcoming Sons of Anarchy spinoff, Mayans MC.
TVLine reports Edward James Olmos, best known for his role as William Adama in Battlestar Galactica, has signed on to play one of the main roles in Mayans MC.
Olmos will portray Felipe, the father of main character EZ Reyes and someone who struggle to keep his family away from a life of crime and keep his past hidden. No release date has been set yet for the series.
Mayans MC takes place in a "post-Jax Teller world." It centers around EZ Reyes and his thirst for retribution against the cartel. Kurt Sutter, who created Sons of Anarchy and wrote, directed, and acted in quite a few episodes of the show, is back to direct the pilot of Mayans MC, which he wrote as well with the help of Elgin James. Production is set to begin this coming March.

It's a shame how Batwoman went from having one of the best books in the New 52 to having no book at all. The good news is that she's quickly making up for lost time in DC Rebirth. Building on setup in recent issues of Detective Comics, Batwoman Rebirth #1 kicks off a new ongoing mission for Kate Kane that'll drag her out of Gotham City. As Kate travels the world to halt the spread of Monster Venom, she'll also return to many of the places that played a formative role in her evolution from socialite to soldier to superhero.
Nintendo’s Shigeru Miyamoto Expresses Concerns About VR
Nintendo creative fellow Shigeru Miyamoto recently shared his thoughts on virtual reality, saying that while some of its issues are being worked out, he still has a few concerns about the technology.
"In terms of being together online in virtual reality, I think a lot of the problems have been solved or are starting to be solved," Miyamoto said in an interview with Time, noting that "this is something that we're looking into, too."
That said, the brilliant designer behind some of Nintendo's most iconic franchises still has lingering concerns about VR. "When I see people play virtual reality, it makes me worry, just as for example if a parent were to see their kid playing virtual reality, it would probably make them worry," he explained.
Lucifer Renewed for Season 3
FOX has renewed its DC/Vertigo Comics-based series Lucifer for a third season. The renewal comes two months before Season 2 resumes airing new episodes on May 1st, following a midseason break.
Said FOX entertainment president David Madden, in a statement, “Lucifer is one of those rare shows that starts strong out of the gate and just keeps getting better and better. Tom, Lauren and the entire cast have really made these characters three-dimensional, and the production team – Jerry, Len, Jonathan, Joe and Ildy – is one of the best in the business.”

Zelda Creator Explains the Importance of Story in Games
Nintendo creative fellow and lauded game designer Shigeru Miyamoto offered his take on the importance of story in games and, more specifically, in the upcoming Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
In an interview with Time, Miyamoto offered his thoughts. “Let me start off by saying that Mr.
and his team, instead of creating a game where you're playing the story, you yourself are embarking on an adventure,” he explained, “and I think they've found a unique way to strike a balance between the story and the fact that you're on an adventure.”

There's no doubt Captain Marvel screenwriter Nicole Perlman stresses about plenty of things while scripting the upcoming superhero movie. But one thing she's not worried about: actress Brie Larson's age.

Black Widow: Scarlett Johansson Says ‘Timing’ Is Key to Solo Movie
Scarlett Johansson believes a solo Black Widow movie should be made, but that timing plays a major factor in making it a reality.
In an interview with Total Film Magazine, Johansson revealed both her and Marvel head Kevin Feige agree Black Widow deserves a solo adventure. However, Johansson thinks "timing" is key to making this film happen, as she has plenty of other movie roles she still wants to do. It'll also be particularly challenging to commit to a Black Widow movie considering the "huge roster" of superheroes Marvel currently has.
"We’re creatively really compatible," Johansson said of herself and Feige. "I think we both agree that the character is right for a standalone, it’s just a case of timing at this point for both Marvel and myself."
