WWE Fastlane Live Blog and Results
WWE Fastlane is the final PPV (a RAW-brand event) before WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, and with Kevin Owens' Universal Championship on the line against Goldberg, look for the 'Mania card to start and shape up in very interesting ways.
Does Goldberg possibly winning the belt mean that Lesnar takes it at 'Mania and we get Brock as champ once again? Or does Goldberg retain against Lesnar and keep running with it? OR, will Owens somehow manage to squeak past Goldberg and defend his strap against Jericho? There are endless (okay, like three or four) possibilities here!
Alien: Covenant Will be the Goriest Alien Yet
“We got through a few gallons of blood,” says Neil Corbould, Special Visual Effects Supervisor on Alien: Covenant. “A few litres.”
“Everyone has their own little recipe and they won't tell anyone else, and ours is just basically cornstarch and food colouring, and that's it”
During our visit to the Sydney set, we are told time and time again that Alien: Covenant is the “bloodiest film” the crew has ever worked on (and Creatures Supervisor Conor O’Sullivan worked on Saving Private Ryan).
“It's just about getting the colour right, because each camera picks up different colours”, continues Corbould. “They're very subtle, but sometimes it can look silly. It can look too red or too dark. It's just about getting the right colour pattern right. We got this stand-in that came in for the day., had no idea that she was going to be covered in blood. She nearly fainted once. We said it's not real; it's just corn syrup. That was... quite funny.”
Nintendo Switch Skins Reportedly Cause Surface Damage
Applying stickers, skins or any similar type of adhesive to Nintendo Switch will reportedly damage the surface of the Joy-Cons, as well as the console itself.
In a series of posts on Twitter (via Polygon), a company that makes skins for a variety of electronic devices (including game consoles) called dbrand has been prototyping skins for Nintendo's new console and found that "after removing the skin, it was obvious that the coating on the Joy-Cons do not play well with any kind of adhesive."
Why Iron Fist Doesn’t Have a Costume on the Netflix Series
Danny Rand (Finn Jones) won't be seen wearing his iconic green and yellow garb on the Netflix series Marvel's Iron Fist, and showrunner Scott Buck has come forward to explain why.
In an interview with SFX Magazine (via GamesRadar), Buck said "there was no good reason" they could think to put him in that outfit. In the series, Rand "is still discovering who he is as a hero and where he is going to be." As such, he's "not yet ready to put on a mask or a costume."
However, protecting his identity "does become an issue for the character." Buck went on to note that Rand "is someone who is rather well known as a billionaire, so he can’t necessarily go out in public and do the things he does without being recognized."
Logan Claws Its Way to the Top of the Box Office
Logan dominated the domestic box office this weekend, debuting in first place with an estimated $85.3 million.
As noted by Variety, Hugh Jackman's final Wolverine film boasted a production budget of $97 million. Logan serves as further evidence that there's a large market for R-rated comic book films, as it's not the first adult-oriented comic-inspired hit from Fox, with Deadpool opening to incredible success last year.
For our thoughts on the James Mangold-directed film, which serves as an "amazing swan song for the Wolverine character," read IGN's Logan review.
Let’s Talk About the Ending of Logan
With Logan marking the end of actor Hugh Jackman's seventeen-year run as the X-Men's Wolverine, the new film would carry a lot of emotional weight for fans regardless of what actually happens in it. But what does transpire in Logan is certainly worth discussing so we're inviting you to post your thoughts on the film and its resolution in the Comments below.
The first video below contains our thoughts on the movie's ending, while the second is a revealing conversation with Logan actors Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart about their final X-Men movie together.
Obviously, consider this a big ol' SPOILER WARNING for both videos embedded below as well as for the Comments section!
