Rock Band Dev Announces DJ Hero-Meets-Trading Card Game, Dropmix
DropMix, a music mixing game where players collect playing cards to create unique song mixes, is being developed through a partnership between Hasbro and Harmonix.
The DropMix Music Gaming System will be available at major retailers and online in September 2017 and will cost $100. The system will include an electronic DropMix board and 60 DropMix cards, which will feature hit songs like "Take Over Control" by Afrojack (ft. Eva Simons), "24K Magic" by Bruno Mars, "Closer" by The Chainsmokers (ft. Halsey), "Sing" by Ed Sheeran, and more.
Players will place a DropMix card on one of five Mix Slots and the DropMix board will start playing the corresponding part of the song noted on the card, either bass, beat, loop, or vocals. The DropMix app, which will be free to download for Apple and Android devices, will then create a unique mix based on the cards you use.
The Walking Dead: Ranking the Communities
Once upon a time, the only place Rick and his ragtag crew of zompocalypse survivors had to worry about on The Walking Dead was a little place called Woodbury and an eye-patched maniac called The Governor. Now, as of Season 6, the world of the show has greatly expanded to include several other communities that all exist within a handful of wooded miles from one another. A web of survivor camps that all play by their own rules and feature their own separate advantages and disadvantages.
Some have medieval cosplay, others have pickles and murder, but all of them are united under the umbrella of trying to create a new society in the ashes of our old ruined and ravaged world. So let's do the most natural thing when it comes to personalized utopias - let's rank them! Which is the best place to live? Where would you like to wind up if you found yourself scrambling for survival in a world filled with death and decay? Here are all the current Walking Dead civilizations ranked from lame to, well, least lame. Look, it's not good out there.
Mass Effect: Andromeda Multiplayer Preview
Playing Mass Effect: Andromeda’s multiplayer, especially playing as a Krogan Vanguard, made me feel like one giant ball of intimidating badass, even as the wave-based difficulty escalated. The incredible satisfaction of charging at an enemy, smacking away half their health, and then finishing them off with a ground pound had me smiling every single time.
We played 1-7 of the horde-style waves, on a particularly-vertical map called Firebase Sandstorm. It’s a level clearly designed with Andromeda’s new jetpack feature in mind - if you’re feeling overwhelmed on one of the higher levels, jetpacking down to safety is a comforting way out, and in that, it feels a little closer to Halo’s Firefight than Gears of War’s Horde Mode. That said, there is an auto-cover system to help you shield yourself from incoming gunfire in situations you can’t jump away from, but it didn’t always work when I wanted it to, and sometimes I’d get into cover when I wasn’t trying to at all.
Planet of the Apes Actor Joins Avengers: Infinity War
Avengers: Infinity War has added an experienced motion-capture actor to its cast.
Terry Notary, who plays Rocket in all three modern Planet of the Apes movies and King Kong himself in Kong: Skull Island, revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he's portraying Thanos' "right hand bad guy" in the upcoming Marvel sequel.
"I can’t say the name of the character or I think Marvel will sever my head, but I apply those same principals of what it means to drop bullsh*t and just play a character truly evil," Notary said, while adding that he's working with Thanos mo-cap actor Josh Brolin and three other actors.
Cody Rhodes Returning to Arrow
Some cool news here for both Arrow fans and wrestling fans: Cody Runnels, AKA wrestling star Cody Rhodes -- who once tussled against Stephen Amell in the ring at WWE SummerSlam when he was wrestling under the name Stardust -- is returning to Arrow as the villainous Derek Sampson.
Rhodes was introduced as Sampson back in Season 5's third episode, "A Matter of Trust." In that episode, he was depicted as a drug-dealer (peddling "Stardust") who transformed into a regenerating supervillain who no longer felt pain.
Avatar 2 Isn’t Coming Next Year After All
Avatar 2 won't be hitting theaters next year, as James Cameron's long-gestating sequel has apparently been delayed once again.
The director revealed the news during an interview with The Star, explaining the reason for the delay is because of how massive of an undertaking it is to develop several sequels all at once.
"Well, 2018 is not happening," Cameron said. "We haven't announced a firm release date."
Cameron and his team are not only making Avatar 2, but the planned third, fourth, and fifth films in the franchise all at once, which is, according to Cameron, in part a reason for the delay.

New Darth Vader Comic to Reveal Origin of His Red Lightsaber
A new ongoing Darth Vader comic book series is on the way from writer Charles Soule and artist Giuseppe Camuncoli at Marvel Comics. The story will pick up at the end of Revenge of the Sith just as Darth Vader joins Emperor Palpatine in viewing the Death Star.

Soule has seemingly become the go-to writer for Star Wars comics at Marvel with Lando, Obi-Wan and Anakin, and the still ongoing Poe Dameron already under his belt. In a phone interview with IGN, he described this new story as “Darth Vader: Year One,” comparing his approach to Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s seminal Batman: Year One comic that showed the origins of how Batman went from rookie vigilante to the imposing Dark Knight we know today.
HBO, Hanks Making 2016 Election Miniseries
HBO is creating a miniseries based on the 2016 Trump-Clinton election, with Tom Hanks on board as a producer.
According to CBS News, the miniseries will be based on the third book in Mark Halperin and John Heilemann's Game Change series, which will be released in early 2018. The HBO series will then debut sometime after that unspecified date.
There's no word on who will play either Trump or Clinton. However, Jay Roach, who directed an adaptation of the first Game Change book for HBO, will return to helm and executive produce this iteration. Roach also directed HBO's All the Way, which starred Bryan Cranston as President Lyndon B. Johnson.
