Destiny’s Age of Triumph Stream Shows Off New Weapons and Gear
Bungie showcased new gear and revised weapons during its final live stream leading up to Destiny Age of Triumph, the final update coming to the company's online multiplayer shooter.
Earlier in March Bungie teased new Destiny armor sets for Vault of Glass and Crota's End, ad today they finally showed them off. New armor sets will be available for all of the previously released raids. Each set is designed around the specific enemy race found at the raid and include flashy new visual effects, like regenerating armor pieces and other highlights. The Age of Triumph armor set was also shown off and can only be attained via the Treasure of Ages chests detailed last week.

Deadpool 2: Michael Shannon Frontrunner to Play Cable
Man of Steel star Michael Shannon is reportedly the new frontrunner to play Cable in Deadpool 2.
Variety reports that, while no deal has been agreed, Shannon has been the top choice at Fox for a week. Shannon is no stranger to comic book movies, having played General Zod in Man of Steel.

Earlier this month, Stranger Things' David Harbour was also reportedly up for the role and was even screen-tested by Fox. Several other actors have been rumored to play the time traveling mutant, while Cable and Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld championed Russell Crowe to play the character.

See a New Rocket and Groot Animated Short
Marvel is releasing a new series of animated shorts focused on Rocket and Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy, and IGN has the exclusive debut of the third installment for you.

These shorts follow the duo before they joined the Guardians of the Galaxy, as they attempt to get enough credits to buy a new ship after their old one breaks down. In this new short, their quest takes them to a five-star restaurant... where they don't exactly fit in.
The Rocket and Groot shorts are animated by Passion Pictures, who were nominated for Best Animated Short at the Academy Awards this year for their work on "Pear Cider and Cigarettes." They recently won an Annie award and are also behind the Gorillaz music videos. The shorts are based on a design by comic artist Skottie Young, whose numerous credits include New Warriors and the Rocket Raccoon comic book.

Nintendo Confirms Source of Joy-Con Sync Issues
Though Nintendo has previously addressed the issues some Nintendo Switch owners have experienced with syncing left Joy-Con controllers, the company has now confirmed the source of the problems.
In a statement provided to IGN, Nintendo of America has confirmed that "a manufacturing variation has resulted in wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con." The statement says there is no design issue with the controllers and that "moving forward this will not be an issue."
The statement from Nintendo of America in full reads:
"There is no design issue with the Joy-Con controllers, and no widespread proactive repair or replacement effort is underway. A manufacturing variation has resulted in wireless interference with a small number of the left Joy-Con. Moving forward this will not be an issue, as the manufacturing variation has been addressed and corrected at the factory level.
Marvel Teases a Third Thor in the Comics
The final chapter of The Unworthy Thor introduced a mysterious new player in the Marvel Universe.

This issue was plenty eventful, as readers learned what exactly Nick Fury said to make Thor unworthy back in 2014's Original Sin.
But even as one mystery was finally solved, writer Jason Aaron introduced a new one. The Unworthy Thor has revolved largely around the Odinson's efforts to escape imprisonment at the hands of The Collector and claim the hammer of Ultimate Thor (which survived the death of its owner and the destruction of the multiverse in Secret Wars). If he can't have his Mjolnir, he might as well settle for another, right?
Live-Action Death Note Movie Release Date Announced
The first teaser for Netflix's live-action take on the beloved manga and anime Death Note reveals the film's release date.
Directed by Blair Witch and The Guest's Adam Wingard, Death Note will be available to stream on Netflix on August 25, the first teaser for the movie confirms.
The trailer offers a brief introduction to the film's main characters — Light (Paper Towns' Nat Wolff), L (Get Out's LaKeith Stanfield), and Mia (The Leftovers' Margaret Qualley) — while also debuting the first voiceover from Willem Dafoe, who plays the Shinigami Ryuk.
