Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has revealed how appearing in Spider-Man: Far From Home changed his perspective on acting for the better, helping him rediscover his love for the job.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, Gyllenhaal broke down every stage of his career, marking his appearance in the MCU as a turning point for him. Gyllenhaal said that prior to his appearance in Spider-Man: Far From Home, he had lost sight of the lightheartedness and goofiness within himself, instead taking himself and his roles too seriously. The actor said playing Mysterio helped him rediscover the joy of acting.

"It was such a cathartic thing to be able to throw away all that seriousness and really become the actor that I think I've always wanted to be," Gyllenhaal said. "I think that we go through journeys in our life where we're finding ourselves, and in the case of Spider-Man, I think I realized 'hey, acting is really fun, you know, enjoy it!'"

In Far From Home, Gyllenhaal played Quentin Beck/Mysterio, who initially acts as a mentor for Tom Holland's Peter Parker, before becoming the main antagonist of the film. At the end of the movie, Mysterio is responsible for revealing Spider-Man's true identity, which causes the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

While Mysterio didn't appear in No Way Home, there was a piece of concept art hinting at a battle between Mysterio and Doctor Strange. And, a multiverse version of Mysterio has been identified as one of the silhouettes at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Since Spider-Man, Gyllenhaal most recently starred in Ambulance, a loud, over-the-top action movie from Michael Bay.

Nosferatu director Robert Eggers wants to get Willem Dafoe for the upcoming horror remake.

During an interview with /Film, the 38-year-old filmmaker revealed that he really wants his frequent collaborator on board for his take on the classic vampire tale.

“Nosferatu is such an incredibly important film and story for me, so it's always percolating,” he said. “If Willem... if Nosferatu is made, Willem better damn well be in it because I just love working with him... but, you know, maybe he would play Ellen? Who knows.”

The upcoming Nosferatu remake will star Anya Taylor-Joy as Ellen Hutter – the object of the legendary vampire Count Orlok’s unwanted affection.

And it looks as though Eggers is really keen to develop a key group of regular collaborators.

Of course, Anya Taylor-Joy starred in Eggers’ directorial debut, The Witch, which saw her portray a young girl called Thomasin who is accused of witchcraft by her devout family. The two then worked together again on The Northman, with Taylor-Joy playing Olga.

Then, there’s Dafoe who has teamed with Eggers on his directorial follow-up, The Lighthouse, not to mention the upcoming Viking revenge flick, The Northman.

Better yet, Dafoe already has something of a history when it comes to Nosferatu…

The role of Count Orlok was originally played by Max Schrek in the 1922 silent German expressionist horror. But back in 2000, Dafoe himself played a fictional version of Schrek in the comedy, Shadow of the Vampire – a satirical look at what could have happened if the actor had really been a vampire.

Whether or not Dafoe would agree to suit up as the infamous Count Orlok remains to be seen.

However, since the upcoming Nosferatu remake has been in the works since 2016, we might still be in for a bit of a wait before we find out.

IGN previously named Count Orlok as one of the most influential monsters in film history, calling Max Schrek’s performance “eerie and iconic”.

There's a lot to unpack in this trailer, but what immediately jumps out is the seeming human/monster hybrid creature that appears to be the season's main villain. The entire trailer is bookended with his narration. We also see Max writing a letter to her brother Billy, who sacrificed himself to save several other characters at the end of last season and is, presumably, dead.

We get additional glimpses of Eleven's past, though she still doesn't have her powers back at least at the start of the season, and all the kids trying to adapt to a normal high school experience. And there's a view of Creel House in the Upside Down, and plenty of monster fighting - such as Hopper against a Demogorgon and Steve shirtlessly fending off attackers, too.

We have an in-depth breakdown of the trailer with the Duffer Brothers coming later today that will answer plenty more questions about what all is going on here and what we can expect. And we don't have too much longer to wait for the full fourth season of Stranger Things, which airs in part on May 27 and the rest on July 1. We'll be waiting with high hopes for season 4 after we called season 3 the show's "best outing so far" in our review.

Prime Video has announced the release date for the second season of its popular adult-animated comedy, Fairfax, which is set to premiere on Friday, June 10, 2022.

Here's how Prime Video describes Fairfax Season 2: "The gang-gang is back for more fun in Season 2 of this irreverent animated comedy following the misadventures of four middle schoolers looking to earn their place in the culture. It’s a modern look at the timeless struggle to fit in and stand out, hold on to your ride-or-die crew, and kiss your first crush - who may or may not be A.I."

IGN can exclusively reveal a clip from the second season, featuring Food Network icon, Guy Fieri, who makes a special guest appearance in the video, which you can view in the embed below or via the player above:

Joining Fieri in Season 2 of Fairfax is an impressive lineup of guest voice actors, including Billy Porter, Zoey Deutch, Camila Mendes, Rob Delaney, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ben Schwartz, JB Smoove, Tim Simons, Pamela Adlon, Annie Murphy, Jeff Bottoms, Larry Owens, John Leguizamo, Michaela Dietz, Michael Rooker, Edi Patterson, Mark Proksch, David Strathairn, and Colton Dunn.

Series regulars Skyler Gisondo as Dale, Kiersey Clemons as Derica, Peter S. Kim as Benny, and Jaboukie Young-White as Truman are all returning for Season 2.

The Batman will release on Blu-ray, 4K UHD, and DVD on May 24, Warner Bros has revealed.

The physical copy will include a number of special features including deleted scenes with analysis from Matt Reeves but not a full director's commentary. Among them is likely to be the deleted scene featuring a famous Batman villain that has already been released.

A ton of other behind-the-scenes content will give fans new insight into the making of the film and overall world of The Batman though, including insight into how Reeves created the characters for his dark and gritty version of the Dark Knight.

The full list of special features included in the Blu-ray and 4K UHD editions is as follows: Vengeance In The Making, Vengeance Meets Justice, The Batman: Genesis, Becoming Catwoman, Looking for Vengeance, Anatomy of The Car Chase, Anatomy of The Wingsuit, A Transformation: The Penguin, The Batmobile, Unpacking The Icons, and Deleted Scenes with Director’s Commentary.

Those picking up The Batman DVD won't be treated to as many extras, however, as this version only comes with the Unpacking The Icons extra.

For those who can't wait until May, or have just adopted the all-digital approach to entertainment, The Batman will be available on HBO Max on April 18 before airing on traditional HBO on April 23.

The opportunity to watch and rewatch the film will likely lead to further speculation on what's next for Robert Pattinson's Dark Knight. While a sequel isn't confirmed at the moment, there are two TV shows set in the same universe already on the way: one focused on Colin Farrell's Penguin, and a Gotham PD series that tells a "haunted house" style story based in Arkham.

The cast and crew have shared what they'd like in a proper film sequel, though. Pattinson himself wants to see a take on the Court of Owls saga while director Matt Reeves hopes to bring Mr. Freeze to his dark and gritty Batman universe.

In our 10/10 review, IGN said: "Matt Reeves’ violent, thrilling, darkly beautiful take on The Batman more than justifies its place in the franchise’s canon."

Japanese clothing brand Uniqlo has accidentally leaked an upcoming Final Fantasy clothing line.

While not announced officially, the series of t-shirts appeared on the company's Vietnamese website before being quickly taken down, as noticed by Kakucho Purei.

The collection features 16 unique shirts, one for every mainline game in the series and the upcoming Final Fantasy 16, created to celebrate Final Fantasy's 35th anniversary this year.

There's no real consistency to the collection, with some featuring modern artwork, others logos, and the ones based on older titles showing off the games' pixel art.

A price-tag wasn't revealed but Uniqlo's Pokémon series of t-shirts retail at $19.90 for adults and $14.90 for children.

Given that half the Final Fantasy series was released before any kids today were born it's likely this collection will only be available for adults though, and the advertising (accidentally) released so far is certainly only modelled by adults.

Dedicated fans will likely scan the Final Fantasy 16 t-shirt for clues about the currently unreleased game but the image doesn't appear to give anything new away.

An official announcement regarding the game is due soon though, as producer Naoki Yoshida said in December that a big reveal was scheduled for spring 2022.

Final Fantasy 16 is currently without an official release date but it would certainly make sense for developer Square Enix to release it in celebration of the 35th anniversary, though the game was delayed "almost half a year" as a result of COVID-19.

Jurassic World Dominion star Jeff Goldblum has a little black book… of Ian Malcolm quotes.

During an interview with Empire Magazine, the 69-year-old actor revealed that he had a book of Ian Malcolm lines with him while shooting the upcoming Jurassic World sequel.

“I have a book!” he revealed. Penned by himself, it’s an encyclopedia of potential Ian Malcolm lines. “Oh boy, I have a ton of them,” he continued. “I’ll just tell you one… We’re on a computer trying to fix something or other, and somebody says, ‘Uh-oh, it’s started flashing Error 99.’ And before Mamoudou [Athie]’s character comes in and explains, I was gonna slip in, very quickly, the line, ‘Error 99? Is it Barbara Feldon?’”

That err… well… you have to be a fan of Get Smart to get that one.

“Now, Barbara Feldon was an agent in Get Smart, a television series from 1962 or something, who played Agent 99,” he explained. “So, a lot of my ideas have to do with references that are totally irrelevant and of no interest or amusement to anybody who could possibly be watching a movie, and inappropriate to the scene. But it tickled me.”

I guess the puns will uhhh… find a way.

“I have never seen anyone pitch more dialogue than Jeff Goldblum,” said co-star Bryce Dallas Howard. “He literally had this piece of paper with these incredible one-liners, and he’d cross them out through the day. You know, some of them will make it in and some of them won’t. But a scene is not a scene without a Jeff Goldblum button.”

Of course, Goldblum is renowned for his witty one-liners and distinctive screen presence. The fact that he has a little Ian Malcolm book of zingers should come as no surprise… and yet.

“He would always bring extra things in his book that, yes, were often references to 1940s musicals, but he’s both hilarious and very powerful,” said director Colin Trevorrow. “It’s not just a comedy role. It’s the power of his presence in this movie that I love the most.”

Jurassic World Dominion’s Gigantosauras was recently revealed in a new image, and while the beast is huge, the film is even bigger with the longest runtime of a Jurassic World film yet.

Jurassic World Dominion stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard alongside BD Wong, Omar Sy, Mamoudou Athie, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, and Laura Dern.

Bugsnax, which originally debuted on PS4, PS5, and PC in November 2020, has been announced for Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X and S, and Xbox One, including a Game Pass release for console, PC, and cloud.

Developer Young Horses has announced Bugsnax will arrive on these new platforms April 28, which will also mark the release of the anticipated Isle of Bigsnax expansion, both on all of these platforms as well as via a free update for PC and PlayStation players. The expansion will come with additional trophies on PlayStation platforms, as well as additional achievements to the base list on Xbox.

For new players, Bugsnax is a first-person adventure game that sees you explore a colorful island full of the titular Bugsnax, helping the handful of grumpuses living on the island with both their personal stories as well as uncovering the larger secrets of what’s happen to the mysteriously disappeared explorer Elizabert Megafig, who invited you to Snaktooth Island in the first place.

The Isle of Bigsnax expansion will be accessible to new players after completing a particular grumpus’ storyline, while players who have already beaten the base game can load a pre-ending save to hop into the experience. IGN recently went hands-on with the Isle of Bigsnax and found its potential as an exciting expansion to the world both mechanically and narratively exciting. Young Horses expects the expansion’s additional campaign to add three to four hours of story content, as well as new additional quests, collectibles, and a new home decorating addition on the main Snaktooth Island.

Additionally, Young Horses has confirmed a special collection vinyl of Bugsnax’s soundtrack by composer Seth Parker will be released via iam8bit.

Several actors have weighed in on the recent debate over method acting, with Mads Mikkelsen, Will Poulter, and Samuel L. Jackson amongst those criticizing parts of the practice.

Method acting is a technique that performers employ to emotionally empathize with the characters they're playing in an attempt to deliver a more authentic performance. The process often sees actors immerse themselves in their roles by staying in character, both on and off set, though the exercise can produce mixed results and not all actors agree with it.

Mads Mikkelsen, who stars as Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, has learned plenty of new skills while preparing for the various roles he's taken on throughout his career as an actor, but he recently told GQ UK that he would never extend that commitment to method acting because he thinks the practice is "pretentious."

"It's bulls***," Mikkelsen said, sharing his aversion to method acting. "But preparation, you can take into insanity. What if it's a s*** film — what do you think you achieved? Am I impressed that you didn't drop character? You should have dropped it from the beginning! How do you prepare for a serial killer? You gonna spend two years checking it out?"

Mikkelsen then adopted a mocking tone, adding, "'I'm having a cigarette? This is from 2020, it's not from 1870 – can you live with it?'" The actor used this as an example of the issue that he sees with method acting, calling the process "pretentious" and blaming the media for commending a performance based on how seriously an actor has approached it.

These comments come shortly after Will Poulter shared his opinions on method acting. In a recent interview with The Independent, the actor acknowledged that the way in which an actor chooses to approach a role is entirely their choice, so long as it doesn't impact the production in a negative way under the guise of staying in character.

"When it comes to an actor's process, whatever that is, so long as it doesn't infringe on other people's and you're being considerate, then fine," he said. "But if your process creates an inhospitable environment, then to me you've lost sight of what's important. Method acting shouldn't be used as an excuse for inappropriate behaviour – and it definitely has."

These remarks echo those of Samuel L. Jackson, Robert Pattinson, and Martin Freeman who have all previously offered up their thoughts on method acting. Jackson told Collider that ultimately the process of shooting scenes should be a positive experience for all involved, especially when filming difficult moments that carry extra emotional weight.

"Sometimes, when you're working with people who invest like that, it doesn't feel like they're having a good time," he said. "It's a job of playing make-believe. You do it effectively and you do it in a way that's not harmful to you because it's a safe space. You're supposed to be able to safely come into this space, work and give emotionally, and not be harmed by it."

The Batman star Robert Pattinson once told Variety that he respects the practice of method acting, though he noted that "you only ever see people do method when they're playing an a**hole." Martin Freeman criticized the practice, citing Jim Carrey's behavior working on the 1999 Andy Kaufman biopic Man on the Moon as a particularly noteworthy culprit.

Despite these opinions, the method acting approach is still frequently adopted by actors. NME notes that Benedict Cumberbatch and Kirsten Dunst didn't speak to each other on the set of The Power of the Dog in order to stay in character, while Vanity Fair says Lady Gaga spoke with an Italian accent for nine months to portray her character in House of Gucci.

Jared Leto is infamous for his wild method approach to acting, and that apparently didn't change much while shooting Morbius. In fact, director Daniel Espinosa confirmed that Leto's method acting process included using crutches to go to the bathroom, leading to delays between takes as he had bathroom breaks that could take up to 45 minutes.

Unfortunately for Espinosa and Leto, the actor's commitment to the character of Michael Morbius didn't exactly translate to a particularly well-received film. Morbius sits at 16% on Rotten Tomatoes, making it the second worst-rated Marvel film behind the Fantastic Four reboot. IGN rated Morbius 5 out of 10, calling it "an origin story that lacks fangs and bite."

An Elden Ring player has beaten the game using only the Ground Slam Ash of War.

For those unfamiliar, this is basically the ground pound from Mario, where players jump into the air before slamming to the ground on their butt.

YouTube user Distortion2, an Elden Ring speedrunner who currently holds the world record for beating the game in under nine minutes, uploaded a two-hour highlight reel of his Ground Slam-only run, as spotted by Games Radar.

Unlike his speedruns, Distortion2 does defeat a number of bosses in this playthrough, and while he doesn't take on all of them, he does make his way through all Remembrance bosses (which are the main, tough ones).

This feat is also achieved from a completely fresh character, meaning it's not been achieved by bringing in an already over-powered Tarnished.

That being said, Distortion2 does deploy a number of tactics and buffs, all legitimate, to make himself, and his Ground Slam attack, incredibly strong. These include buffing his character with incantations like Golden Vow and Flame, Grant Me Strength.

While Elden Ring only released six weeks ago, several players have already tackled the game - which is hard enough to beat normally - in a number of wacky ways.

These include runs without taking damage, runs without dealing damage, and someone even beat an Elden Ring boss with a Nintendo Switch Ring Fit controller.

Just last week players also discovered a way to make the infamous boss Starscourge Radahn defeat himself, for example, luring him to the water's edge so that he splashes in and dies.

Elden Ring's other bizarre secrets discovered so far include a pair of fancy underwear hidden away in the game files and a hidden wall that only opens after 50 hits.

In our 10/10 review, IGN said: "Elden Ring is a massive iteration on what FromSoftware began with the Souls series, bringing its relentlessly challenging combat to an incredible open world that gives us the freedom to choose our own path."
