Bioshock Creator Compares New Game to a “Much More Ambitious” Shadow of Mordor Nemesis System

Ken Levine has discussed some of the influences and comparisons with his as-yet-untitled first game for new studio, Ghost Story.

The creator of Bioshock has previously said that his new project aims to be a replayable narrative game, and cited Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor's Nemesis System (which had NPCs remember and react to your actions in it open world) as the sort of direction he'd like to take it in.

In an onstage interview at EGX Rezzed in London, Levine once again brought up the action-RPG as an inspiration, but added that his new game would take the idea of a reactive narrative much further:

Spider-Man May Leave MCU After Homecoming Sequel

Spider-Man: Homecoming producer Amy Pascal has explained that Peter Parker may not be hanging around in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for all that long.

It was something of a landmark deal when Sony and Marvel partnered to allow Spider-Man (the rights for which lie with Sony) to appear in MCU films. That deal seems to have an end date, however. Speaking at the CinemaCon theater-owners event this week in Las Vegas, the former Sony chief explained:

“One of the things that I think is so amazing about this experience is that you don’t have studios deciding to work together to make a film very often. In fact it may never happen again, after we do the sequel

Jordan Peele Reportedly In Talks to Direct Live-Action Akira

Key & Peele co-creator and Get Out writer-director, Jordan Peele is rumoured to be in discussions to direct the live-action remake of manga and anime classic, Akira.

The Tracking Board reports that Warner Bros. - led by Get Out's critical and commercial success - has held "encouraging" talks with Peele about taking up the reins of the long-gestating project.

Showrunner for Daredevil Season 2, Marco J. Ramirez has reportedly written the most recent version of the script (although what that script involves is anyone's guess, not least because the original film could become a trilogy in live-action form). However, it's expected that Peele would at least edit that script for any version he directed.

Aquaman Designs Suggest Lord of the Rings Underwater

Aquaman star Jason Momoa appeared at CinemaCon Wednesday to promote his DC superhero's solo film, which hits theaters December 2018.

Momoa, who said he was just hours away from flying to Australia to begin working on Aquaman, introduced a brief video and recorded message from the film's director, James Wan.

The video included no actual movie footage as filming has not yet begun. Instead, attendees screened conceptual imagery to get a sense of the scope and design of Wan's film. And it looked truly epic, the director's grandest undertaking yet. Furious 7 may have shown what Wan could do in terms of action sequences, but this Aquaman video hinted at what Wan might achieve when working at a scale not dissimilar to Peter Jackson's Middle-earth saga.
