Why Quake Champions Is the Evolution of the Arena Shooter
is definitely an arena shooter,” says Tim Willits, creative director at id Software. “It is a true skill-based arena shooter in the spirit of Quake. The champions are definitely an evolution of the
genre, and they are definitely something that adds to the overall game experience. But, at its core – and it’s important to note – it is Quake. Keeping that DNA, that essence of what Quake is, was always very important to us. I feel very confident that we have captured that Quake feel.”
As Willits has identified, Quake isn’t just any old shooter. It’s an arena shooter. As an old-school fan who was blooded on Quake deathmatch, the arena shooter sub-genre refers to some very specific tenets.
Why Schwarzenegger Turned Down the New Predator Movie
Arnold Schwarzenegger has opened up on why he won't be appearing in the new Predator sequel.
When Yahoo asked the star if he'd be working with director Shane Black on the sequel, Schwarzenegger replied by saying he simply didn't like the offer.
"They asked me, and I read it, and I didn’t like it — whatever they offered. So I’m not going to do that, no. Except if there’s a chance that they rewrite it, or make it a more significant role. But the way it is now, no, I won’t do that."
The actor also confirmed that a sequel to the 1988 comedy Twins is still in the works, stating that "...they’re writing it, and now everyone is enthusiastic about it. It will probably be done in the next month or two, and then hopefully we shoot it by this fall. It’s really exciting."

Starring Community alum Alison Brie, GLOW's 10-episode first season will debut on June 23. The series was created by Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch. Orange Is the New Black creator Jenji Kohan serves as an executive producer.
GLOW is inspired by the 1980s TV series of the same name. Here's the official synopsis for the new series, courtesy of Netflix:
GLOW tells the fictional story of Ruth Wilder (Brie), an out-of-work, struggling actress in 1980s Los Angeles who finds one last chance for stardom when she’s thrust into the glitter and spandex world of women's wrestling. In addition to working with 12 Hollywood misfits, Ruth also has to compete with Debbie Eagan (Betty Gilpin) a former soap actress who left the business to have a baby, only to be sucked back into work when her picture perfect life is not what it seems. And at the wheel is Sam Sylvia (Marc Maron), a washed-up, B-movie director who now must lead this group of women on the journey to wrestling stardom.
