Peter Molyneux: Kinect Was a ‘Disaster, Trainwreck’

Populous and Fable creator Peter Molyneux recently weighed in with his thoughts on Kinect, calling Microsoft's motion-sensing device a "trainwreck" that ultimately failed to deliver on its ambitious promise.

"You know, Kinect... I'll be honest with you. It was a disaster," Molyneux said on the latest episode of our monthly interview show IGN Unfiltered.

"It was a trainwreck," he continued. "It started as this device which kind of could do everything itself. It didn't take up any processor power, the field of view could encompass the whole room. The audio on it, which no one really talks about, was originally supposed to be multi-sensing, it could sense where you were."

Netflix’s Sand Castle: Henry Cavill Goes to War

Sand Castle, Netflix's new original movie launching April 21, stars Henry Cavill (Batman v Superman) and Nicholas Hoult (X-Men: Apocalypse) as American soldiers in the early days of the Iraq War in 2003. Today, we have an exclusive clip featuring Cavill's badass Special Forces Capt. Syverson, as well as a one-on-one chat with Sand Castle director Fernando Coimbra (Narcos).

In the film, inexperienced Private Matt Ocre (Hoult) is among the soldiers ordered to the outskirts of Baqubah to repair a water pumping station damaged by U.S. bombs. Ocre will learn about the true cost of war as he tries to win the hearts and minds of the locals in a dangerous environment fraught with resentment and anger.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Release Date Announced

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will release exclusively for PlayStation 4 this August, Naughty Dog has announced.

According to a post on the developer's official site, the standalone expansion will release in North America on August 22 for $40 USD and $50 CAD. Additionally, the official PlayStation UK Twitter account confirmed The Lost Legacy will be available in the UK on August 23.

Max Payne Developer’s Next Game, P7 Coming to PS4

The next game from Max Payne developer, Remedy Games is almost certainly heading to PlayStation 4, among other platforms.

Remedy announced today that it's working on a project codenamed P7 and its strategy is to release the title on a wider range of platforms. The studio is currently developing its proprietary game engine, Northlight, for Sony's console as a result.

The Finnish studio's previous game - shooter/TV show experiment Quantum Break - was exclusive to Xbox One and PC. The last game from Remedy to release on a PlayStation platform was 2003's Max Payne 2.

New Star Wars: Force for Change Campaign Announced

At least one of the last Jedi (we'll find out about that soon enough) today announced the latest Star Wars : Force for Change charity campaign, with Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley telling fans how they could (among other things) appear in the Han Solo movie in return for helping a good cause.

Teased yesterday and revealed during Good Morning America, the latest campaign will support Unicef and the Starlight Children's Foundation - watch the video below:

Bayonetta Comes to PC With Enhanced Graphics

Bayonetta can now be experienced on PC.

The PC port, available right now on Steam, features enhancements such as mouse and keyboard support, Japanese and English voice over tracks, and enhanced resolutions up to 3840x2160.

On top of supporting a maximum 4K resolution, the game runs at 60 fps, with cut scenes running at 30 fps. If you've played Bayonetta before, you know a smooth framerate is critical to experiencing all the absolutely insane stuff that goes on during the course of a game.

If you purchase the game before April 25, you unlock the Digital Deluxe version of the game "at no extra cost." The Digital Deluxe package includes a soundtrack sampler, and an enhanced version of the "digital art book from the original Climax Edition."

Controversial Key Seller Accuses Gearbox and TotalBiscuit of “Defamatory” Statements

G2A has released an official statement rebutting the claims of YouTube personality TotalBiscuit and Gearbox Publishing regarding its marketplace practices.

Gearbox Publishing had originally formed a partnership with G2A and planned to release Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition special editions through the seller.  Youtuber John "TotalBiscuit" Bain then released a video, criticising the game company's decision to partner with the controversial game download key seller.

Marvel and Archie Team Up for Marvel Comics Digests

Marvel Comics characters are coming to the Archie Comics' digest format, beginning with Spider-Man this June.

The digests are familiar to Archie Comics fans, and bring the same format to Marvel's stories, with over 200 pages per digest of "the most memorable classic and modern stories" from every decade of Marvel's history.

The Spider-Man digest features art and stories from Marvel legends like Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. For a look at the covers of the upcoming Spider-Man and Avengers digests, along with a few selected pages, check out the slideshow below.

Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel told us "a lot of thought went into choosing the content for each of the Marvel/Archie digests."

Adorable Mei Figure Joins the Nendoroid Overwatch Lineup

Soon there will be two characters in the Overwatch Nendoroid collection. Tracer was the first, of course, and coming up next will be the ice cold Mei.

The Mei Nendoroid features her classic skin, and comes with two different face plates, one happy, and one extra happy. Various attachable parts come included as well, and she is fully articulated so you can recreate multiple poses from the game.

The weather drone on her back is detachable and comes with its own stand, plus Mei can pet her little snowball to act out the "Companion" emote. The figure also comes with a transparent sheet which can be placed to recreate Mei's ultimate Blizzard ability.

Mei's Nendoroid is available for pre-order from GoodSmileShop for 4900 yen, which is around $44 / £36. The Tracer figure which was announced back in February is also available for the same price.
