Olympic Council to Brings eSports to the Asian Games

In a combined effort between the Olympic Council of Asia and Alisports of China, eSports will be making an appearance in the official program of the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games.

Due to their incredible popularity and growth, competitive Electronic Sports have been added to September's OCA Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games as a demonstration sport and are slated to make appearances at the 18th and 19th Asian Games.

The 2018 games held in Jakarta and Palembang, Indonesia will showcase eSports as a demonstration sport, which has been a stepping stone to becoming an Olympic event for sports such as baseball, tennis, and Taekwondo.

Remastered Street Fighter II Stage and New Costumes Coming to Street Fighter V

Capcom announced today that Street Fighter II's Thailand stage is being remastered and will soon make its debut in Street Fighter V. This news came out of Capcom's WonderCon 2017 panel, which also featured details about upcoming costumes.

According to the announcement, the stage will stay as true to the original design as possible, even keeping the same music. The stage will be available April 25 for $3.99 USD, or 70,000 of Street Fighter V's in-game currency, Fight Money.

New schoolyard costumes were also unveiled, along with concept art showing how the outfits changed before reaching their final design. Ryu, Chun-Li, and Juri are the fighters receiving new costumes. All three will also be available April 25 for $3.99 USD each.

Original StarCraft and Brood War Are Now Free

StarCraft and StarCraft: Brood War are now completely free to download from Blizzard's official website.

The price drop comes alongside a new patch 1.18 that includes a list of features including Observer mode, autosaving replays, and other general improvements and bug fixes. A full breakdown of the changes is available in the patch notes on the site.

The move to make StarCraft free was announced last month alongside the remaster of the original StarCraft, but Blizzard waited until the patch today to actually offer free downloads. The remaster will feature all of the content from the original game as well as the Brood War expansion and is coming later this year, though Blizzard has not yet announced a specific release date.

Netflix Users Spent ‘Half a Billion Hours’ Watching Adam Sandler Movies

Netflix users have spent "half a billion hours" watching Adam Sandler movies on the streaming service.

Netflix revealed the milestone via its quarterly earnings reports, where the streaming giant reiterated it's excited by its recent four-film renewal deal with Sandler.

"We continue to be excited by our Sandler relationship and our members continue to be thrilled with his films," the report states. "Since the launch of The Ridiculous 6, Netflix members have spent more than half a billion hours enjoying the films of Adam Sandler."

Documentary About GoldenEye on N64 in Production

An Australian-made documentary seeking to explore and discuss the history and impact of GoldenEye 007 on N64 has been announced today. GoldenEra will examine how an inexperienced team were able to defy expectations and build one of the most respected and influential console shooters ever.

The team has revealed the film alongside an IndieGoGo campaign to assist in its completion. They also showcased a brief trailer, which features interviews with a variety of experts from both the game and media industries (including GoldenEye 007 veterans Karl Hilton and B. Jones, as well as IGN’s Peer Schneider and Tristan Ogilvie).

Disney Survey Hints at Star Wars Hotel With Lightsaber Training

If your biggest complaint about hotels is they aren't Star Wars themed, a recent survey on Disney's behalf points to the possibility of a very real Star Wars hotel experience.

According to Disney news site WDW News Today, a survey of guests includes "concept art and many details" of what the future could hold.

Instead of merely sleeping and showering in an ordinary hotel room, the survey points to a fantastical future where guests would instead spend two nights not only staying in a replica star ship, but living out an interactive Star Wars story.

King Kong Skull Island TV Series in Development

King Kong is getting his first live-action TV series in King Kong Skull Island.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will be based on DeVito ArtWorks' Skull Island and Merian C. Cooper's 1933 film King Kong, with Cooper's estate backing the project. It will be a contemporary continuation of the franchise and will explore the origins of Skull Island. However, it won't be related to the latest King Kong film, Kong: Skull Island.

While casting hasn't begun yet, the series will have a female lead with a multicultural ensemble. MarVista Entertainment and IM Global are producing the series. Oscar nominees Jonathan Penner and Stacy Title (The Bye Bye Man) will pen the script and executive produce with Dannie Festa (Trolls).

Kingsman: The Golden Circle Teaser Deep Dive

The first footage for Kingsman: The Golden Circle has been revealed, but it may be difficult to see exactly what is being teased.

20th Century Fox dropped a brief teaser for The Golden Circle — the kind normally preceding a full trailer release — but all of the footage from the film comes in a brief, five-second flurry. To make sense of what's actually shown, IGN has broken down the teaser into two galleries of images, showcasing each scene briefly glimpsed in the tease. Check it out below:

Notable reveals from the trailer include a first look at Julianne Moore as Poppy, as well as her base of operations. Though the tease is too quick to offer any concrete plot details, there are brief flashes that indicate what Poppy's plan may be. The teaser also reveals some of the action sequences in the upcoming sequel, as well as a look at several members of the Statesman, the American equivalent of the Kingsman.

Han Solo: Force for Change Video Reveals New Alien

As filming continues on Disney's upcoming Han Solo movie, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller have taken a moment to provide a sneak peek at a new alien that will appear in the standalone Star Wars film.

The alien can be seen in a new "Force for Change" video (via Entertainment Weekly) hosted by Return of the Jedi and Rogue One's Warwick Davis, who's set to appear in the film as well. Roughly two minutes into the video, Lord turns the camera to provide a brief glimpse at the new creature, which you can see below:
