Payday 2 Is Getting a Free VR Mode

Payday 2 developer Overkill Software is working on a virtual reality mode for its first-person bank heist shooter, which will launch for free for all Payday 2 owners. The VR mode will allow Payday 2 players to experience the entire game in VR. A beta is planned for sometime this year.

The Payday 2 VR teaser trailer demonstrates players using the HTC Vive's motion controllers and full-body tracking to hide behind cover, order hostages, shoot weapons, steal jewelry, and revive fallen teammates.

Crossplay will allow VR players and traditional PC players to team up in the same game.

Watch the Payday 2 VR Mode trailer below.

Payday 2 is also getting an Ultimate Edition, which will merge nearly every piece of DLC into a single collection available for $45 along with the base game. That includes over 55 heists, 18 playable characters, 77 primary weapons, 51 secondary weapons, and 82 melee weapons.

FOX Cancels Son of Zorn, APB and Making History

FOX has canceled its freshman series APB, Making History and Son of Zorn.

Deadline reports the tough production and lack of a new showrunner for Son of Zorn ultimately led to the hybrid live-action/animated show's cancelation.

The story follows Zorn, a barbarian warrior from the fictional South Pacific island of Zephyr, who moves to Orange County to reconnect with his teenage son. For our thoughts on the short-lived show, read IGN's reviews of Son of Zorn's first two episodes, "Return to Orange County" and "Defender of Teen Love."

"While his show was geared toward children, his messages have universal appeal.”

New Darth Vader Comic Picks Up After Revenge of the Sith

A new Star Wars comic book series will debut this June that chronicles the rise of Darth Vader, picking up right after that infamous, heavily meme'd "No."

Get a sneak peek at Darth Vader #1 in the slideshow below that shows what happens in the moments after Anakin's darth rebirth:

Astonishing X-Men and Poe Dameron writer Charles Soule is working with Amazing Spider-Man artist Giuseppe Camuncoli on the new series, simply titled Darth Vader.

The series will begin immediately following the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, after Anakin Skywalker is defeated by Obi-Wan Kenobi and falls to the dark side.

"With the all-new Darth Vader series, we will finally get the chance to witness iconic moments in the Star Wars galaxy through the lens of one of its most famous characters," series editor Jordan D. White said. "We are going to spotlight the construction of Vader's red lightsaber, the fallout of Order 66, the beginnings of the Inquisitor program, the rise of an Empire, and many more sinister moments never seen before!"

What the Heck is American Gods Actually About?

If you've watched the first two episodes of American Gods and still find yourself confused about what this show's actually about, we've got you covered. Here's a general spoiler-free breakdown of what's happening:

In a word, Bryan Fuller and Michael Green's adaptation of Neil Gaiman's modern fantasy novel is about "belief." But the exploration of that concept is set against a backdrop of a massive battle for America's belief -- even if the TV show hasn't been so explicit about it yet. To get you in the loop on the Big Picture of American Gods, here's a general spoiler-free breakdown of what's happening:

Many of the characters we've met so far on American Gods are what's considered "Old Gods": Mad Sweeney, Bilquis, Anansi/Mr. Nancy, Czernobog, and the Zoryas among others. These Gods are essentially immigrants; they came to America with their loyal subjects, as we see in the "Coming to America" vignettes. Think of it like the Hitchhiking Ghosts who jump in the ride vehicle with you at the end of Disney's Haunted Mansion attraction and follow you.

The Best Drone for Beginners

Remote controlled drones used to be something just the military used, but a few years ago they were downsized and rolled out for consumers and just took off, pun intended. Suddenly everyone was flying drones with cameras, and you couldn't visit your local park without hearing a quadcopter buzzing in the sky above. They're still quite popular thanks to a booming market filled with every type of drone imaginable; from uber expensive units with high-res cameras to tiny "toy" drones, and everything in between. Naturally, a lot of people are curious about drones, and want to give them a try, but don't want to drop a ton of cash on a video drone that's just going to end up in the bushes, or worse. With this situation in mind we set out to find the best cheap drone for beginners, and reviewed five of the most popular models of 2017.

Prometheus Helped Bring Back the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant

The mixed response to Prometheus helped bring back the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant, according to director Ridley Scott.

In an interview with Yahoo, Scott revealed that, despite saying a few years back that the classic Xenomorph would not show up in his Prometheus sequel, fans' negative reaction to that news helped change his mind. "They wanted to see more of the original

and I thought he was definitely cooked, with an orange in his mouth," said Scott. "So I thought: ‘Wow, OK, I’m wrong.’"

The filmmaker then went on to admit that, with the way people reacted to Prometheus, he needed to change the direction he wanted to take the Alien franchise and satisfy series fans. "I think you’re not sensible if you don’t actually take
