Overwatch 2: Sojourn Gameplay, Weapon, and Abilities Revealed

Blizzard has shown gameplay and broken down the abilities of Overwatch 2's new hero, Sojourn.

Revealed in a blog post on the Overwatch website, Sojourn's arsenal is headlined by a massive railgun that makes her an ideal mid-range character.

It fires rapid projectiles that generate energy upon hitting enemies, which is then used to power a much stronger blast that acts as Sojourn's secondary. The railgun, though a fairly simple weapon, therefore scales with player skill as accuracy directly affects secondary damage.

"We wanted to make a mid-range hero that rewards accuracy, but still make it fun for varying levels of skill and gameplay," said senior hero designer Josh Noh.

Another ability is the Disruptor Shot, an AOE attack that ensnares enemies, eats away their health, and was designed in tandem with the secondary attack as it allows an easier shot.

Sojourn also has a lot of mobility thanks to a rocket-powered slide that can be cancelled into a high jump to quickly reposition her. "We wanted to add a vertical element to her kit to enable her to quickly access high-ground vantage points and help solidify her role as a mobile damage hero," Noh said.

Finally, her Ultimate ability is Overclock, which automatically charges the railgun's energy for a short period of time and allows her shots to pierce multiple enemies if the player is accurate enough.

Noh said: "We wanted it to feel almost like the hitscan version of a Genji Dragon Blade. You will have a limited time to make a big play or you could miss all your shots."

While that's all of Sojourn's gameplay details, Blizzard also recently unveiled her Soldier: 76 entwined origin story. She's so far the only new character confirmed for Overwatch 2 but all 32 characters from the first game will also be playable in the sequel.

Players with access to the first PC closed beta can test her out on April 26, and though Blizzard has not confirmed a release date for the game's official launch, it has said the PvP and PvE modes will arrive separately.

Guardians Of the Galaxy: Karen Gillan Swears She’s Not the One Pranking James Gunn

While filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, director James Gunn has been receiving a slew of anonymous ‘gifts’ in the form of Ricky and Morty figures, and Karen Gillan swears she has nothing to do with it.

During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the 34-year-old Guardians of the Galaxy star was asked whether she knows who is behind the on-set prank.

“No, I don’t! Everyone thinks it’s me! It’s not me!” she said. “I would like to go on the record as saying it is not me. I don’t know who’s doing that, but I was at the monitor yesterday and it is getting out of control. They’re taking over the whole video village. So, I can’t wait to find out who it is.”

Gunn first shared that he was being pranked several months ago while filming the third Guardians of the Galaxy film when he began chronicling the mysterious appearance of Rock and Morty key chains on his video feed stand.

Since then, it’s only been getting worse.

Gunn is a self-professed Rick and Morty fan and has now received an impressive number of key chains and figurines during the Guardians shoot. Not so much of a problem for a fan of the show, but they are starting to take over a bit.

“We have less than six weeks left of shooting,” he said via Twitter. “I am praying we find the culprit before then (but not too long before then so we keep getting new figures).”

Clearly, the cast is having an absolute blast as they regroup for the sequel.

“I think everybody was so excited to be back together,” said Gillan. “The feeling was giddy excitement. The whole family was back together and we truly do feel like a family.”

Of course, Gunn almost missed out on the third installment after Disney removed him from the project… only to reinstate him soon after.

“It just wouldn’t have felt right without James back with us,” said Gillan. “It just wouldn’t have been the same movie. So, we were all extremely grateful that everything got straightened out, as it should have. And now, we’re almost finished. So, there’s a little bit of a bittersweet feeling in the air as we close out this chapter of the Guardians as we currently know it.”

As for who’s behind those Rick and Morty figures… we may never know.

But it’s clearly going well for the Guardians of the Galaxy, and they look like they’re having the time of their lives.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt as Starlord alongside Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax, Vin Diesel as Groot, and Bradley Cooper as Rocket. They’re joined by Karen Gillan, Will Poulter, Elizabeth Debicki, and Pom Klementieff.

James Gunn wrote and directed the Guardians of the Galaxy sequel based on characters from Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning.

Leslie Grace Teases Batgirl 2 And Reveals What It Was Like To See Michael Keaton Return To Batman

It may be a bit early for talks of a Batgirl sequel, but star Leslie Grace hints that there could be one on its way… at least if the first film does well.

During an interview with Variety, the 27-year-old actress revealed that there have already been some discussions about Batgirl 2.

“We got to see this first one first,” she said. “But there’s definitely some talks about what it could be. I’ve seen some of what we’ve shot, obviously in the playback and stuff like that, and it’s insane. We’ve already been talking about where do we take this from here because there’s so much that happens in this film.”

“There are a lot of different themes in the plot that we touch on,” she added. “It’s not just the action. There’s a love story. There’s this father-daughter relationship. There’s looking at the world through a lens that isn’t just black and white and seeing the color and the spectrum between things.”

Batgirl stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon – the daughter of J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon who takes up the mantle of Batgirl to become the titular heroine.

Although DC fans will no doubt be overjoyed to see the return of Commissioner Gordon, it’s Batgirl herself who’s been curiously missing from the DC Extended Universe so far.

And Grace was overjoyed to be the one putting on the suit.

“I think that was the first real moment where I was like, ‘Oh, wow, we’re here. I’m doing this. Like, I am really Batgirl.’ It’s still hard for me to say that. But, yeah, it was a surreal experience.”

“I had to summon up some things in me that I didn’t even know were there,” she added. “It was an incredible learning experience to be on set with also action veterans like Brendan Fraser, and soak up it all up. It was so hard because he’s our villain and I’m not supposed to like him but he’s such a huge teddy bear. He is one of the nicest people that I’ve ever met.

"In our fight sequences the way he would just hit marks, it came from all of his experience. You can’t improvise that kind of experience. There’s some crazy stuff that happens. There’s lots of fire because as everyone knows by now, he plays Firefly. There’s crazy fire. There’s crazy stunts, crazy drops. She’s a biker chick, so you’re going to see her do a bunch of badassery.”

Of course, the big return is that of Michael Keaton.

That’s right – the original Batman star is back as an aging Bruce Wayne, who presumably takes the young new vigilante under his wing. And it’s a return we’ve all been waiting for.

“It was wild for everyone,” said Grace. “Our directors were like two little kids. They’re legit Batman nerds openly. He’s Batman, man! I couldn’t even believe that I was sharing space with Batman. I want to say more, but I can’t. It was insane, surreal, incredible. It was the stuff of dreams really.”

Batgirl stars Leslie Grace as the classic DC heroine alongside J.K. Simmons, Michael Keaton, Ivory Aquino, and Brendan Fraser. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah directed the movie based on a script by Christina Hodson.

Avatar 2: Michelle Yeoh On Working With ‘Genius’ James Cameron

Michelle Yeoh will star in Avatar 2 and has also teased an ongoing role in its sequels.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 59-year-old actress hinted that her upcoming role in the Avatar sequel will lead to more.

“So, yes, I am in the Avatar sequels and as you know we can't really talk very much about it,” she said. “But it's James Cameron! Come on! I would be the tea lady for James Cameron!”

“We shot for a few weeks, and I was so impressed with the work that he's done, the work that he's doing, the energy,” she added. “He's a genius, he's a walking genius. And I really, really enjoyed the experience and I can't wait to go back soon, I hope.”

Clearly, it sounds as though she’s onboard not just for Avatar 2 but the eventual follow-ups, too. But quite what that means remains a bit of a mystery.

For years now, Cameron has been teasing a number of Avatar sequels, with up to five planned by Disney. It sounds as though Yeoh will be back for at least some of them, but quite where the series will go five movies in is anybody’s guess.

Filming on Avatar 2 and 3 wrapped in September last year, with Avatar 2 set for theatrical release on December 16, 2022, and Avatar 3 due out on December 20, 2024. Avatar 4 is set for December 2026, and Avatar 5 will eventually land in December 2028.

And while Yeoh was clearly enraptured by Cameron’s upcoming Avatar sequel, co-star Zoe Saldana was apparently moved to tears.

“I can get choked up just talking about it,” she admitted. “I was able to see just 20 minutes of the second installment, right before the year ended, last year. And I was speechless. I was moved to tears.”

James Cameron recently revealed the first set photos from Avatar 2, giving us a glimpse at this new underwater world, while also introducing Jake and Neytiri’s mixed-race family.

Avatar 2 stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Vin Diesel, Kate Winslet, Michelle Yeoh, and Jemaine Clement. James Cameron directed the film based on a script he wrote alongside Josh Friedman.

Seth MacFarlane Will Play Ted Again in a Peacock Series

Ted will return in his own upcoming TV series, with a pretty impressive cast.

According to Variety, the foul-mouthed teddy bear is getting his very own TV show over at Peacock, with Seth MacFarlane returning to voice the character.

But that’s not all – the cast is already shaping up with three other new additions.

Giorgia Whigham, Max Burkholder, and Scott Grimes have all reportedly signed on to the series.

Whigham is perhaps best known for the role of Amy in Netflix’s comic book series, The Punisher. Appearing in Season 2 of the hit show, she formed a strong bond with Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) after he saves her from being attacked in a bar.

Burkholder shot to fame after starring in the hit horror flick The Purge as Charlie Sandin – the son of a wealthy family who made their fortune selling anti-purge security systems. He made his film debut in Daddy Day Care and has also voiced animated characters in Family Guy, American Dad, and The Cleveland Show.

Grimes is a frequent collaborator of MacFarlane’s, voicing Steve Smith in American Dad as well as Kevin Swanson in Family Guy. He also starred as Lieutenant Gordon Malloy in The Orville.

The Ted TV series will take place in 1993 – long before the films.

In this new story, John Bennett, played by Mark Wahlberg in the movies, is just 16 years old. With Ted’s moment of fame behind him, he lives with John in his working-class Boston home.

“Ted may not be the best influence on John, but when it comes right down to it, Ted’s willing to go out on a limb to help his friend and his family," Variety writes.

Unsurprisingly, Burkholder will take the role of the young John Bennett, while Whigham plays Blaire Bennett – his older, outspoken cousin who’s not afraid to clash with her family. Grimes will take the role of Matty Bennett, John’s blue-collar father.

Essentially acting as a prequel, it looks as though the Ted series will further expand MacFarlane’s impressive TV pedigree. Whether it will prove to be any good is another matter entirely.
