Boba Fett Actor Temuera Morrison Wants to Bring the Star Wars Bounty Hunter Back to his Old, ‘Badass Ways’

Boba Fett actor Temuera Morrison has opened up about the legendary Star Wars bounty hunter and has revealed he would love to see him get "back to his badass ways."

Speaking to ET, Morrison discussed the future of the iconic character he first played in season 2 of The Mandalorian and then again in The Book of Boba Fett.

While he admits his fate is "out of my control," he does have some thoughts, especially now that Fett is the new Daimyo of Mos Espa after he moved in on the late Jabba the Hutt's territory.

“We’ve got to bring him back somewhere. We’ve got to see the old Boba Fett," Morrison said. “We reintroduced him. We found out some stuff. But I think it’s time to get him back to his badass ways. No two ways around that. So, I think we sort of have that scope to go back there, but that’s out of my control. I’ll just see what happens.”

In our review of The Book of Boba Fett's first season, we shared the sentiment that the team behind the series may have "softened [Boba Fett's] edges too much"

"Morrison’s grounded delivery, dry wit, and physical prowess in battle help to flesh out a previously unreadable character, but this trend of ameliorating classic villains has maybe softened his edges too much," IGN's reviewer Hanna Ines Flint wrote. "He’s still a crime boss after all, so it’s a shame we’re getting more Maleficent than Omar Little with this antihero reboot."

As of this writing, there is no word as to whether The Book of Boba Fett will return for a second season or if we will potentially learn more of the bounty hunter's story in The Mandalorian or otherwise.

We do know that The Mandalorian's third season will arrive in February 2023, so hopefully, we won't have to wait too long to see what the future holds for Boba Fett.

VergeWorld Is a Roguelike Combat-Racer With a Gorgeous Retro Aesthetic – IGN Expo 2022

VergeWorld is a new combat racing game with a beautiful, PS1-inspired look - and it's coming to PC this fall.

Revealed at IGN Expo, the game has a roguelike structure, sending you dogfighting, racing and violently exploding through procedurally generated courses. Between runs, you'll be able to use collected resources to upgrade your post-apocalyptic flying machine.

Aiming to mix the speed and precision of WipeOut with bullet hell combat, the game initially started as a fan project aiming to recreate Amiga and Sega Genesis style games, but blossomed into a full project for developer Bad Bones. Furthering the retro homage, the game features a 16-bit synthwave soundtrack, and pixel art story sections.

You'll be able to play a demo on Steam from June 13. This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

Pixel Art JRPG SacriFire Will Launch on PC Next Year – IGN Expo 2022

Developer Pixelated Millk has announced that its upcoming action JRPG, SacriFire, will release on PC in 2023. Console releases will follow later.

Revealed as part of IGN Expo, the news of a 2023 release came accompanied by a brand new trailer that shows off three of the game's vibrant locations. First up is Ivanstone, one of SacriFire's hub locations, which is located in the underground city of Antioch. The trailer then showcases Erebus, a forest haunted by the spirits of both the living and dead. Finally, we're shown Bohemond's Office, a room where missions are assigned to protagonist Ezekiel.

SacriFire is described as "Vagrant's Story meets Octopath Traveler", and will see Ezekiel explore the worlds of Antioch and Erebus, two very different lands with different stories. Those locations are realised through a combination of hand-drawn pixel art characters and 3D backdrops, which lends SacriFire its own distinct look. Dungeons full of hellhounds, imps, lemures, and more set the stage for a battle system that weaves together elements of turn based and real-time combat. Ezekiel's DIVOS gauntlet can transform into six different weapons, which can influence fighting styles alongside your companions.

Retro Shooter Project Warlock 2 Is Now Available in Early Access on PC – IGN Expo 2022

Buckshot Software and Retrovibe has announced that '90s-style FPS Project Warlock 2 is available now on PC in Early Access via Steam and GOG.

Revealed at IGN Expo, a new trailer showed a rapid-pace glimpse of the content available during Project Warlock 2's Early Access version. This smaller slice of the full game contains six levels that Buckshot Software describes as being up to 10 times bigger than any level in the original Project Warlock. Each level is a multi-floor structure with platforms and buildings that add a new layer of verticality to the run-and-gun gameplay.

Project Warlock 2 is inspired by the likes of Quake and Doom 64, and features an arsenal of upgradable weapons including swords, guns, magic staffs, cannons, and a range of special skills. The Early Access version will begin with playable warlock Palmer, but he's just the first of three characters. In the coming months, chapters featuring warlocks Urd and Kirsten will be added.

Buckshot Software expects Project Warlock 2 to be in Early Access for about a year, with player feedback from this first chapter being used to refine the gameplay and help develop the remaining two chapters.

For more, check out the first 10 minutes of Project Warlock 2. If it looks like your kind of thing, there's currently a 10% discount on both Steam and GOG to celebrate the launch. And if it's more announcements you're searching for, check out our Summer of Gaming 2022 schedule, which is your complete guide to all the big events happening this month.

No Place for Bravery Is a Pixel Art Soulslike Launching This September – IGN Expo 2022

IGN Expo is pleased to announce that No Place for Bravery, a 2D pixel art game with Sekiro-inspired combat, will launch this September.

A new trailer reveals that No Place for Bravery will be available on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG) and Nintendo Switch from September 22.

The 2D soulslike features fast combat that places a strong emphasis on parries, much like FromSoftware's Sekiro. As Thorn, you'll explore a wretched, grim world where death lurks behind every corner. Your journey to investigate your daughter's disappearance will see you accompanied by your disabled foster son, Phid. The concept promises themes of compassion and parental responsibility amidst the encrounching darkness, so perhaps we'll see parallels to God of War as well as Sekiro and Dark Souls.

No Place for Bravery was shown as part of the Guerrilla Collective back in 2020, and here on IGN developer Pedro Machado also walked us through how the game works.

Mining Sandbox Adventure, Core Keeper Reveals Its First Update, The Sunken Sea – IGN Expo 2022

Core Keeper, the mining sandbox adventure game from Pugstorm and Fireshine, has revealed its first major update, The Sunken Sea – and has added dedicated server support today.

Shown off at IGN Expo, The Sunken Sea update has players navigating a brand new water-based biome, filled with aquatic threats and treasure-filled islands. The update adds boats for the first time, as well as new enemies, weapons, valuables, ores, base building items, and more.

An exclusive teaser trailer gives us a hint at what's to come, including a gigantic three-eyed turtle... thing, which fires whirlwinds. No date has been given for the update, other than that it's coming soon.

Today also sees the addition of dedicated server support for the up-to 8-player game. Players will now be able to host their own multiplayer worlds and have friends join at any time.

"Dedicated servers have been requested since the start of the game's launch into Steam Early Access," said Pugstorm CEO Sven Thole, "and we'd like to say a huge thank you to the members of our incredible community who have helped test this feature ahead of its official launch today."

IGN helped announce Core Keeper at last year's Expo. The procedural mining adventure has since garnered almost a million players, and looks set to grow further. This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

There Is No Light - a brutal, pixel art hack 'n' slash - will be released in September.

The news was revealed in a brand new animated trailer shown during IGN Expo, showing the game's haunted hero dispatching enemies - and revealing a healthy slice of gameplay too.

Set in a grimdark underworld, There Is No Light has you exploring a world left shattered after the Church of the Great Hand massacres humanity. You'll help survivors and get into punishing, high-speed fights against the Church's enforcers. The game looks to mix the rewarding challenge of the Souls games with the speed of classic action games.

Ground Divers Is a Dig Dug Style Game.. With RPG Systems Built In – IGN Expo 2022

IGN Expo saw the reveal of Ground Divers, a brand new game in the style of classic arcade game Dig Dug – but filled to the brim with systems more familiar from an RPG. It arrives for Nintendo Switch on June 30.

Described as a "slapstick discovery game", Ground Divers sees you guide the rabbit-like mining robot Tsuruhashi into increasingly complex mine shafts of your own creation. The game sees you not just digging for "rare matter", but fighting off underground enemies, building Pit Relay Systems to help offer upgrades and supporting units along the way, and more.

Both Tsuruhashi and your home base can be upgraded over time, lending it something of the feel of XCOM. There are even special moves built in for cheering on Tsuruhashi enough. It looks truly unusual, and markedly different from anything out there right now.

This was just one of dozens of announcements and trailers revealed during IGN Expo 2022 - make sure to check them all out.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite – Pathogen DLC Exclusively Announced at IGN Expo 2022

IGN Expo has seen the exclusive reveal of Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Pathogen, the first major DLC pack for the co-op shooter, which will be released on August 30.

Pathogen will see Aliens: Fireteam Elite expanded with a brand new campaign containing three missions and new enemy types. The storyline sees the Endeavor's crew visit LV-895 where they find that the planet's xenomorphs have been infected and mutated into fearsome new forms. The trailer shows off several of these new aliens, which draw upon the grotesque white Neomorph designs from Alien Covenant.

To combat those new threats, Pathogen provides eight new weapons, 26 new weapon attachments, and a new perk for each class that modifies its main ability. You can also expect two new outfits for all seven class kits, six new head accessories, 21 new weapon colours, nine gun decals, and 10 new emotes.

Aliens: Fireteam Elite - Pathogen will launch as a paid-for expansion on August 30. Coming alongside the expansion will be a free update that adds a hardcore mode that provides an "extreme survival challenge".

Aliens: Fireteam Elite arrived in 2021, and has been receiving seasons of new content, but Pathogen marks a more fully-fledged piece of DLC being added to PvE game. We awarded the core game a 7/10 review, saying it "does enough right to be plenty worthwhile for a trio of co-op shooter fans who’d rather battle hordes of xenomorphs than the usual zombies."

Devolver 2022 Summer Showcase: Everything Announced and Revealed

Devolver has, once again, out-weirded the rest of the games industry with its 2022 summer showcase. Hosted by a malfunctioning "mecha" Suda51, the Devolver Marketing Countdown to Marketing was, well, intended to be a countdown... but the ongoing Devolver Cinematic Universe we've seen evolve over the last few years managed include robots, sci-fi madness, and several game announcements.

We’ve rounded up all of the new reveals in one handy place:

Anger Foot is a New Game About 'Kicking Doors and Kicking Ass'

Originally an itch.io game, an expanded version of Anger Foot is on its way in 2023. A bonkers FPS in which you use "the world's deadliest feet", Anger Foot will have you battering gangsters, buying new sneakers and upgrading your powers as you smash your way through sewers and skyscrapers alike.

The Plucky Squire Is a Beautiful, Ambitious New 2D/3D Adventure

The Plucky Squire sees a beautifully animated storybook adventurer called Jot, who works out he can leap out of said book into the 3D world. It results in one game with two very different perspectives. Inside the book is a top-down, 2D, hand-drawn adventure filled with mini-games. Outside the book is a gigantic world set in a child's bedroom, reminsicent of It Takes Two's 3D adventures. It gets stranger too – different surfaces can become 2D spaces of their own, from mugs to lunchboxes. It will arrive in 2023 for PC, Switch, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

Cult of the Lamb Is Out on August 11

Cult of the Lamb mixes Binding of Isaac-like action with town management in a deceptively evil world, as you build a demonic cult of animals to do your dark bidding and return an ancient evil to the world. It wil larrive for PC, Switch, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One on August 11. A demo is also available on Steam.

Skate Story: Gorgeous Skateboarding Adventure Is Now a Devolver Game

We've seen Skate Story pop up multiple times over the years, and it's always made an impression – and it clearly did for Devolver too, who have now taken on publishing duties. Arriving in 2023, the gorgeously stylized fantasy-skateboarding adventure sees you piloting a low-poly, glass demon into the underworld. Do it well and you'll progress on your journey – bail and and you'll smash to pieces.
