God of War Ragnarok's latest Japanese is a wonderful surprise that is shockingly upbeat in all the best ways.
Shared on PlayStation Japan's Twitter, the trailer features footage of God of War Ragnarok placed in between scenes of three men dancing and singing in a beautiful and colorful forest and mountainous setting. Saying any more would ruin the joy and surprise of it all, so here it is for your viewing pleasure!

Now, just like me, you will have this catchy and wonderful song stuck in your head as you prepare return to the adventures of Kratos and Atreus on November 9 when God of War Ragnarok is officially released.
This trailer follows another surprising one from yesterday, November 1, that featured Ben Stiller, LeBron James, John Travolta, and their kids in a counseling session led by Stiller in full Kratos attire.
As we mentioned, God of War Ragnarok is nearly upon us, and in our final preview, we said that, in its first five hours, the much-anticipated sequel "delivered an engaging, emotional story with portions of Kratos violently ripping things in half sprinkled in during the touching opening moments."
For more, check out God of War Ragnarok's graphics and performance options, how Sony Santa Monica dealt with Atreus' voice actor's changing voice, and our breakdown of the story so far.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Has the Biggest Opening Weekend in Franchise History
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II has set a new record for the best-selling weekend in the franchise's history, bringing in a total of $800 million worldwide in sell-through after only three days on the market, according to publisher Activision.
Given the series' history and cultural impact, it's never a surprise that Call of Duty regularly sees staggering sales numbers at launch. However, this year's second entry in the rebooted Modern Warfare series has already rapidly surpassed the previous franchise record set by 2011's Modern Warfare 3, which brought in $775 million across a five-day span.
“Thank you, Call of Duty players, for making Modern Warfare II’s launch one for the record books as well as the highest grossing entertainment opening of the year," Call of Duty General Manager, Johanna Faries, said in a statement. "It is our honor and privilege to deliver such a historic launch weekend for the best fans in the world. As amazing as this opening has been, Call of Duty has much more in store. An unprecedented level of support for the Modern Warfare universe is on the horizon and Warzone 2.0’s launch is right around the corner. It’s an incredible time for the franchise.”
Modern Warfare II is a sequel to 2019's reboot of Modern Warfare, both of which feature iconic characters and themes from the original series while telling fresh stories set in today's world.
In our campaign review, we called Modern Warfare II a "lackluster follow-up to Modern Warfare 2019’s refined take on a Call of Duty campaign, and an experience that’s already fading in my memory." However, our multiplayer review praised the multiplayer for how it "shifts its focus enough to where it feels distinct and different."
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is available now on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Avatar: The Way of Water Trailer Shows More of Jake and Neytiri’s Family, Giant Sea Creatures, and a Baby Na’vi
Avatar: The Way of Water's newest trailer not only gives us a much better look at Jake and Neytiri's family and the struggles they face, but it is also filled with giant and impressive sea creatures and a baby Na'vi.
Avatar: The Way of the Water will be released in theaters on December 16, 2022, and it is set more than a decade after the events of the original film from 2009. According to the official description, this new film "begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure."
The trailer also gives us a brief tease as to why the film's title is what it is, as "the way of water connects all things, before your birth, and after your death."
Alongside the new trailer, a new poster has been revealed that shows Jake, Neytiri, and their children, and you can check it out below.
Avatar: The Way of Water is directed by James Cameron, is produced by James Cameron and Jon Landau, and stars Zoe Saldaña, Sam Worthington, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Cliff Curtis, Joel David Moore, CCH Pounder, Edie Falco, Jemaine Clement, and Kate Winslet.
For more, check out why Cameron was "shocked" at how good the Avatar re-release looks, why 3D TVs for homes failed, and our breakdown of The Way of Water's D23 footage and its first trailer.

Sony Announces 11 New PlayStation VR2 Games, Including The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR
Alongside announcing the release date and price of PlayStation VR2, Sony has additionally revealed 11 new games headed to the platform, including The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR.
As revealed by PlayStation.Blog, the full list of games also includes Crossfire: Sierra Squad, The Light Brigade, Cities VR - Enhanced Edition, Cosmonious High, Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue, Jurassic World Aftermath Collection, Pistol Whip VR, Zenith: The Last City, After the Fall, and Tentacular.
All of these games are said to have a release window of 2023 and, while Sony has yet to confirm all the games that will be part of PS VR2's launch line-up on February 22, 2023, it did confirm that it is expecting more than 20 titles to be part of it.
The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR is being developed by Supermassive Games and is a "fast-paced roller coaster action-horror shooter where every move you make, and everything you see, could mean the difference between life and death." This game will take players to a Ghost Ship, to 17th-century New England, beneath a desert, and to the World's Fair Hotel to face "distorted apparitions," "demonic incarnations of persecuted 'witches,'" "vampires," and "a sadistic serial killer," respectively.
Oh, and if that wasn't enough, there will be enemies that only move when you blink.
Crossfire: Sierra Squad is a new first-person shooter from Smilegate that will cast players as the leader of a fireteam placed in the "middle of a war over a top-secret biochemical weapon that has recently been discovered." Crossfire: Sierra Squad will feature over 60 campaign missions and they can be played solo or with up to three other friends. There will also be an arcade mode, a realism mode, and a hardcore horde mode.
Funktronic Labs' The Light Brigade is a single-player roguelike that is "filled with immersive gunplay and moody mystery." The world is losing all the light it has left, and you are one of the last people still fighting against the ever-growing darkness. You will need to head to the Sunken World over and over again to take down the evil that is threatening this world, and you will do so with both guns and magic.
The Light Brigade will be a cross-buy title for both PS VR2 and PS VR.
Cities: VR - Enhanced Edition from Fast Travel Games is an adaptation of Cities: Skylines for PS VR2. This VR title aims to let players "build and manage the city of your dreams." Cities: VR - Enhanced Edition will "launch alongside PS VR2."
Cosmonious High is the newest adventure from Owlchemy Labs, the developers behind Job Simulator and Vacation Simulator. This single-player adventure will let players become Prismi, a "rare alien species that can adapt to any situation." When Prismi lands at a school with kids "plagued by mysterious malfunctions," they will have to use their powers to save the day.
Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue from tinyBuild Games and Steel Wool Studios tasks players with "outsmarting the neighbor" in a whole new way. Search and Rescue will take players back to Mr. Peterson's house and will let them choose between six "little neighborhood heroes" who must face their fears and rescue their friend who is trapped in the "bizarre basement prison."
Hello Neighbor: Search and Rescue will be a cross-buy title for both PS VR2 and PS VR.
Coatsink's Jurassic World Aftermath Collection combines both games set between Jurassic World and Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom that feature a voice cast led by Laura Bailey and the return of Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Ian Malcolm. Not only will you get to feel the scale of the dinosaurs as you try to survive on Isla Nublar, but a new mode called The Dino Viewer will serve as a "living museum" where you can get close to your favorite dinos without the fear of being eaten.
Pistol Whip VR is the "award-winning physical action-rhythm game where thrilling gunplay and dynamic tracks collide, creating a dreamscape world for players to blast, duck, and dodge their way through to become the ultimate action hero." This new version will take advantage of PS VR2's features by utilizing headset feedback, haptic feedback, finger touch detection, and very short load times.
Owners of Pistol Whip VR on PS VR will get a free upgrade to the PS VR2 version.
Zenith: The Last City will be a launch title for PS VR2 and will welcome players to the MMO that features a full story, immersive combat with weapons and spells, and much more. When it is released on PS VR2, it will do so with "hundreds of hours" of new content, a big graphics update, and the benefits of PS VR2's unique features.
Zenith: The Last City will be a free download for all players who own the PS VR version.
After the Fall from Vertigo Games is a co-op shooter set in a post-apocalyptic version of Los Angeles, and it allows up to four players to team up to take on a world filled with 32 real players at a time. After the Fall first launched in December 2021, and its content has 'more than doubled" since then. PS VR2 players will have access to it all from the start.
Tentacular from Firepunchd Games UG is a "charming VR game about a gigantic but good-hearted tentacled beast trying to figure out its place in the world." This physics-based adventure includes a story filled with heart and humor, and the PS VR2 will let you feel even more like a beast from the deep. This includes eye-tracking where you can interact with the inhabitants of La Kalma by "simply looking at them," enhanced audio-based haptics, adaptive triggers, and more.
These games will join such confirmed titles for PS VR 2 as Horizon Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey Director Is Preparing a Peter Pan Horror Movie Too
The viral, low-budget horror movie Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is coming to theaters but the director already has sites on another public-domain horror movie concept.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fathom Events announced that it will release director Rhys Frake-Waterfield’s slasher movie to theaters on February 15 across the U.S., with plans to showcase the film in the U.K., Canada, and Mexico.
Frake-Waterfield is already planning a sequel to go along with the first movie, as well as another murderous take on a public domain children’s series, Peter Pan: Neverland Nightmare.
Details are sparse, and we'll likely have to wait until Blood and Honey is released. But the interest generated in the film has seemingly paved the way for a sequel and follow-up.
Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey was created following the classic children’s book entering the public domain in January 2022. Based on A.A. Milne’s children's books, Blood and Honey stars a feral Pooh and Piglet as they go on a murder spree in the hundred-acre woods.
The first teaser for the movie became a viral hit, and interest in the movie skyrocketed both for the violent take on the Pooh character, but also for the successful interpretation once the character hit the public domain.
The first trailer was released in August and you can check it out in the video below.
