Tron Identity, a New Detective Mystery Game, Officially Announced
Disney announced a new game from Bithell Games set in the Tron Identity.
While the brief teaser didn't offer much information, the music and neon glow of the Light Discs evokes the look of 2010's Tron Legacy. You can check out the teaser (and thumping music) below.
In a press release, Tron Identity is described as a visual novel adventure that follows Query, a detective program that must solve 'an unprecedented crime' in The Grid.
Bithell Games is best known for the indie hit Thomas Was Alone but has gone on to make unique takes on established IP. Games like John Wick Hex, which was an action strategy game set in the John Wick universe.
While details for Tron Identity are sparse, we can expect more info before the game is released on Steam in 2023. Be sure to check out our interview with Mike Bithell about Tron Identity after the livestream.
And for everything else, IGN has a full round-up of new games and announcements from the Marvel and Disney games showcase.

Steam Deck Official Repair Centers Are Now Open
Steam Deck owners now have a new option if their device needs fixing.
An official statement from Valve confirms that its Steam Deck Repair Centers are now officially open, with Steam Deck owners able to send in their device to get a full diagnosis and a potential fix.
“If you encounter an issue and need to send your Steam Deck for repair or replacement, devices will now go to one of our repair centers,” they confirmed. “Once there, our team will diagnose the device, repair if needed, then ship the fixed unit back to you.”
According to Valve, repairs for issues covered by the Steam Deck’s warranty will be undertaken free of charge.
But you might have to stump up for your repairs if it’s been accidentally broken.
“If a Steam Deck comes in that is not covered by warranty, our team will reach out and offer to repair the device for a fee (if a repair is possible),” they explained. “This out-of-warranty repair service is completely optional, and you can ask for your device back if you prefer.”
Valve goes on to explain that a console that develops an intermittent button issue, for example, would be covered by the warranty… whereas a Steam Deck ruined by your dog would require a fee to fix.
However, they also offered some alternatives…
Repair kits and guides for the Steam Deck are all available at iFixit if you fancy repairing the Steam Deck yourself. In fact, the popular DIY repairs site has been stocking Steam Deck parts since earlier in the year.
IGN’s Steam Deck review gave it 7/10 and said: “When the Steam Deck is living up to its promises, it's absolutely incredible. Playing GTA 5, God of War, and other modern games on the go is an absolute joy, and the hardware and controls feel good to hold even though it’s a big chubby boy of a handheld.”

Ezra Bridger Will Appear in Star Wars: Ahsoka, Played by Eman Esfandi
Star Wars: Ahsoka will reportedly see the return of Star Wars Rebels hero, Ezra Bridger.
Making his live-action debut in the upcoming Disney+ show, Bridger will be played by actor and filmmaker, Eman Esfandi, as confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. IGN has independently reached out to Disney and LucasFilm for comment.
Ezra Bridger was first seen in the galaxy far, far away in Star Wars Rebels – the recent hit animated Star Wars show that followed a rag-tag band of rebels during the rise of the Rebel Alliance.
Although plot details for Ahsoka are firmly under wraps, it’s expected to follow the Jedi’s quest to track down Admiral Thrawn – a former Imperial commander.
Thrawn was last seen heading off into space along with Bridger… and it’s thought that Ahsoka will continue the trio’s story.
Ahsoka is being developed by Dave Filoni, who also created Star Wars Rebels, alongside executive producer Jon Favreau. It certainly sounds as though Star Wars Rebels will feed into Ahsoka in a big way, and with Ezra Bridger returning, it might not be long before we see some of our other Rebels favorites follow suit.
Notable, Sabine and Chopper have already been teased…
Star Wars Rebels starred Freddie Prinze Jr. as former Jedi Kanan Jarrus, Tiya Sircar as Mandalorian graffiti artist Sabine Wren, and Steve Blum as Lasat fighter Zeb Orrelios alongside Vanessa Marshall as their pilot, Hera Syndulla, and David Filoni himself voicing the plucky droid, Chopper.
Bridger was originally voiced by Taylor Gray, who has been replaced in live action by Esfandi.
Similarly, Ahsoka will be played by Rosario Dawson following the character’s first live-action appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett… but was originally voiced by Ashley Eckstein.
As well as heading to the galaxy far, far away, Ahsoka star Dawson recently confirmed that she wants to return to the MCU in the upcoming Daredevil series, Daredevil: Born Again.
She previously starred as Claire Temple in the hit Netflix show.

Latest She-Hulk Trailer Includes Some Exciting, if Expected Cameos
She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is about to re-introduce a familiar face.
A new sneak peek at the rest of the series shows none other than Daredevil himself giving She-Hulk some advice… and it looks as though she really needs it.
“I think you’re in a unique position to do some real good,” said Matt Murdock. “Jen Walters can use the law to help people when society fails them. She-Hulk can help people when the law fails them.”
It’s no surprise that Charlie Cox is back as Daredevil. After all, he recently appeared in Spider-Man: Now Way Home giving legal advice to Peter Parker, and he’s even getting his own solo MCU show in Daredevil: Born Again.
Now, it looks as though he’s helping out his fellow avocado-at law.
Of course, we also got a brief glimpse of Daredevil’s new suit during an early She-Hulk trailer… and the new midseason sneak peek gives us an even better look at Daredevil’s swanky new costume.
Daredevil’s new red and yellow suit is a big departure from his earlier look in Marvel’s Daredevil, but more in line with some of Murdock’s early appearances – having fashioned his suit out of the boxing trunks, robe, and boots of his late father, Jack Murdock.
Aide from the suit, there’s also a hint that Daredevil and She-Hulk might end up getting a bit… closer.
“This guy’s really kind of doing it for me,” she smirks.
Given her recent dating fumbles in Episode 4… she could definitely do a lot worse. Whether or not the pair end up dating, however, remains to be seen.
IGN’s review of She-Hulk Episode 4 gave it 9/10 and said: “The midpoint of She-Hulk: Attorney At Law does exactly what a midseason episode is meant to do. Head writer Jessica Gao and team have upped the ante when it comes to both action and questions on what’s to come for Jennifer Walters, leaving us incredibly excited to see what the show has in store in the coming weeks.”

Ubisoft Launches 5-Year Plan to Improve Diversity at its Studios
Ubisoft is launching a five-year plan to improve racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity within its studios and the wider company.
As reported by GI.biz, a Ubisoft blog post delved into how the Assassin's Creed and Far Cry publisher is planning to evolve its workplace culture, one of which is through a new initiative called Project Rise.
It looks to diversify Ubisoft's staff by increasing the number of people from different backgrounds – focusing in particular on gender equality, race and ethnicity, LGBTQIA+ inclusion, and disability inclusion – present at different parts of the company.
"We know we have room for growth when it comes to the representation of racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity, both within Ubisoft and the gaming industry at large," said VP of global diversity Raashi Sikka. "With this in mind, we created a multi-year strategy called Project Rise to ensure that Ubisoft better reflects the diversity of our players, with a focus on racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity.
"Over the course of the next five years, we will focus on three key areas: talent acquisition, internal talent development, and external talent pipeline development.
"We know that different people experience life and the workplace differently – there are different opportunities and barriers that we all face. In the workplace, addressing barriers requires us to be specific, targeted, and focused in our actions."
An increasing number of entertainment companies have made diversity a growing focus in recent years, including Take-Two Interactive, Disney, and more. Elsewhere, a series of lawsuits filed against Activision Blizzard were a result of its alleged "frat boy culture".

Scientists Create Remote Controlled Cyborg Cockroaches
Scientists have created a remote controllable cybernetic cockroach that could one day help rescue workers search for survivors in the wake of a disaster.
A team of scientists, led by researchers from the Japanese RIKEN research institute are attempting to harness the natural strengths of the humble Madagascar hissing cockroach to aide in search and rescue operations and environmental monitoring missions.
However, in order to control the bugs in a way that would actually make them useful, they would have to combine their biological form with a technological control system - in other words, they had to create a cyborg.
Naturally, the tiny size of these creatures makes controlling them all the more difficult. However, the team was able to develop an ingenious, ultralight, battery-powered control system that fits entirely on the back of the 6 cm long creature.
Here’s How it Works
To start with, the researchers designed a 3D printable elastic polymer backpack, which was crafted to conform to the natural shape of the cockroach's body. This specialized piece of gear allowed the bug to move largely unhindered, yet allowed the precious equipment mounted above to remain attached to the cockroach for over a month.
A tiny control module that included a lithium polymer battery was mounted near the head of the cockroach, and thin wires snaked outward to connect to the bug’s leg sections. Each of these wires was capable of delivering electrical stimulation to the legs - forcing them to move - and the entire system can be controlled wirelessly using a bluetooth signal.
One of the major issues faced by the team when developing their system was that of power. The lithium polymer battery powering the control system would function for a time, but would inevitably run out of juice.
At this point, the painstakingly designed cyborg would become less than useless to its handlers - running amock as its natural tendencies reasserted themselves.
In order to ensure that their cyborg remained fully charged and obedient, the researchers attached an ultrathin 0.004 mm thick solar cell to the lower part of the abdomen. This was tricky, as during normal movement, a cockroach's abdomen contracts, and parts of its exoskeleton shift relative to one another.
To combat this, the energy-generating cell was attached strategically so as to allow the bug to maintain much of its natural range of movement.
That’s right, they fitted a solar cell to a cockroach, and incredibly, it worked.
“The body-mounted ultrathin organic solar cell module achieves a power output of 17.2 mW, which is more than 50 times larger than the power output of current state-of-the art energy harvesting devices on living insects,” Kenjiro Fukuda, a Senior Research Scientist at RIKEN, and lead author of the new study said.
During testing, the researchers were able to command their cyborg cockroach to move and turn right and left on command. The insect was also able to right itself 80 percent of the time after being flipped onto its back, despite the presence of the control system.
Moving forward the team is hoping to adapt their control rig to work with beetles and possibly even flying insects like cicadas.

Cyberpunk 2077 Just Got Official Mod Support
CD Projekt Red has released an official modding tool called REDmod that allows Cyberpunk 2077 players to officially create and install their own mods to the PC version of the game.
As reported by Eurogamer, the REDmod tool includes custom sounds, animations, scripts, and more that lets players easily create custom content. It will also be updated regularly as new updates for Cyberpunk 2077 are released in order to stay compatible.
"You can use REDmod modding tools separately (in the commandline) or integrated into the WolvenKit mod editor (recommended for best experience and ease of use)," the official website reads.
Old mods created outside the new tool will still work without issue, CD Projekt Red made clear, and popular modding website Nexus Mods has added an official page on its website to explain how the two services will work side by side.
REDmod is also completely optional, being branded as DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 instead of a mandatory system, meaning users can continue to use the old modding systems if they prefer.
The game's modding community has already produced countless wacky and wonderful mods since it was released in 2020. Users have made CD Projekt Red's unused quests available, a way to listen to Cyberpunk 2077's music outside of the car, and tons of new weapons and clothing too.
On the weirder side of things, some users even tried to mod the game so that Johnny Silverhand is a romanceable character – something that Keanu Reeves thinks is "nice".

King of the Hill Revival Won’t be Happening on Fox
King of the Hill may be about to make a comeback, but it won’t be at Fox.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Fox Entertainment president Michael Thorn explained the network won’t be involved.
“That’s not going to be with Fox,” he revealed. “We love that team, and we love that show. It’s obviously part of our animation legacy. But what we’re really focusing on animation is launching the kind of the next wave of our signature animated series, while still having our great legacy shows.”
King of the Hill creator Mike Judge recently teased the show’s return saying that it “has a very good chance of coming back.”
It’s not the first time we’ve seen the show touted for a revival either, with Judge and co-creator Greg Daniels launching a new animation company, Bandera Entertainment, back in January while also hinting that something is in the works.
“We were very excited to go into different tones and different styles and try to expand the animation art form,” Daniels said about Bandera's animation slate. "We're in a golden age for content, right? That's animation, too. That was one of the things we were talking about in founding the company: 'Let's push animation into all these different genres.'"
However, Daniels later clarified that no deal had been made for King of the Hill.
Going back even further, writer Bent Forrester claimed there were “hot negotiations” for the show as far back as 2021.
“They are in hot negotiations to bring back King of the Hill,” he said. “The Trump administration made it suddenly very relevant again. The characters have all aged 15 years. The project is sooooo good. Okay, I've said too much.”
Whether or not King of the Hill will make it back to our TVs remains to be seen. Either way, it looks as though the show’s original network won’t be involved.
