Hellraiser: New Trailer Released Ahead of October Release
We're just a couple of weeks away from Pinhead's return to our screens, and we're now getting a better look at the upcoming Hellraiser reboot with both a new trailer and poster.
The trailer gives us the best look yet at Jamie Clayton's portrayal of Pinhead, along with a few of the other Cenobite characters that come along with the franchise's classic villain. The clips also show the human characters becoming more and more fascinated with the mysterious puzzle box, which of course leads to plenty of suffering and pain for those who refuse to stay away.

We also got a look at the first poster for Hellraiser, which shows a silhouette of Pinhead with the franchise's iconic puzzle box making up the backdrop.
Hellraiser is headed to Hulu on October 7.

The movie's official synopsis says, “In the all-new Hellraiser, a young woman struggling with addiction comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that its purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.”
Alongside Clayton, Hellraiser will star Odessa A’zion, Adam Faison, Drew Starkey, Brandon Flynn, Aoife Hinds, Jason Liles, Yinka Olorunnife, Selina Lo, Zachary Hing, Kit Clarke, Goran Visnjic, and Hiam Abbass.
Clayton is the fourth actor to play Pinhead, while Hellraiser 2022 marks the eleventh film in the franchise. Fans are hopeful this one can start to right the Hellraiser ship, as 2018's Hellraiser Judgment only dug the franchise into a deeper hole.

Portal RTX Is a Ray-Traced Remix of the Puzzle Classic
As part of Nvidia's GTC keynote today, the company announced Portal RTX — an RTX-enhanced version of the 2007 puzzle classic developed by Valve.
Portal RTX includes updated graphics and supports ray tracing. This is not the first time Nvidia has made RTX upgrades to older games. The company previously made RTX versions of Quake II and Minecraft. However, this latest RTX remix game is special because Nvidia confirmed that the tool used to make Portal RTX will be available to all for free. Meaning others will access the tool and make their own RTX-enhanced games.
Portal RTX will release sometime this November; while pricing was not listed during the event, Nvidia did confirm that those who own Portal on Steam will receive Portal RTX free of charge.
Portal RTX was one of many announcements Nvidia made during its GTC keynote. Other announcements include the unveiling of the long-awaited RTX 40-series, which consists of the RTX 4090 and two RTX 4080 GPUs: one with 12Gb of memory and another with 16GB. For more, check out our roundup of everything that was announced during the GTC keynote.

Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 and Ada Lovelace Everything Announced
The day PC gamers have been waiting for is finally here, new Nvidia graphics cards. Nvidia announced a new Nvidia RTX 4090. Additionally, the computer chip maker announced new a new RTX platform and tools, and even an RTX remastered version of Portal.
Ada Lovelace
Nvidia announced its third generation RTX architecture called Ada Lovelace. This new GPU architecture is based around a 4N process resulting in chips with 76 billion transistors and 90 teraflops of processing power. The RT cores have also been bumped up with 2x the ray-triangle intersection throughput.
Meanwhile, the new tensor core will support FP8 and power DLSS 3.0, which can now use a new AI algorithm to generate entire frames rather than just upscaling pixels. According to Nvidia DLSS 3.0 can boost game performance by up to four times over brute-force rendering. In a demo, Nvidia showed how DLSS 3.0 can double the frame rate of Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Portal with RTX
Nvidia has modded Portal and remastered it with RTX and DLSS 3.0. The game features all-new, realistic lighting effects applied through omniverse tools.
RTX Remix
RTX Remix is a new application that essentially lets you convert any game into an RTX experience. All you have to do is capture the game in a universal scene discriptor, and from there you can scene to alter lighting and other attributes. After that, you can replay the experience with the new lighting.
Nvidia RTX 4090
The Nvidia RTX 4090 is the first new generation card Nvidia announced at GTC 2022. It features 1400 TOPS tensor performance that allows it to be 4x faster for RT games and 2x faster for more traditionally rasterized games. Compared to the outgoing Nvidia RTX 3090, Nivdia claims this new card is two to four times faster.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 will come with 24GB GDDR6X video memory and it’ll be available on October 12.
New pricing
If you’re not ready to jump into the new generation of GPUs, Nvidia also announced price cuts for its older generation GPUs.
The Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 will now come in 16GB and 12GB GDDR6 versions, starting at $899. Meanwhile, the RTX 3060 will return to its $329 starting price.

Nvidia Officially Announces the RTX 4090 and 4080 Desktop GPUs
Nvidia has announced a new flagship GPU as part of its RTX 4000 series of graphics cards, the successor to its nearly two-year-old RTX 3000 series.
Using Nvidia's new Ada Lovelace architecture, which uses the third-generation DLSS, the first GPU is the GeForce RTX 4090, which includes 24GB of G6X memory and is claimed to be two to four times faster than the RTX 3090 Ti, Nvidia's previous flagship GPU. The RTX 4090 will cost $1599 and will be released on October 12th.
The RTX 4080 was also announced and includes two memory configurations: 12GB and 16GB. The RTX 4080 is claimed to be two to four times faster than the RTX 3080 Ti. While no release date was given to the RTX 4080 GPUs, Nvidia says the cards will release sometime in November. The RTX 4080 with 12GB of G6X memory will retail for $899 while the 16GB variant will cost $1,199.
During the presentation, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang went into extensive detail about the RTX 40's new graphical architecture. Huang notes that the Ada architecture features third-generation RTX, which boasts new features, including real-time path tracing as well as the third generation of Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). DLSS 3 is reportedly capable of generating additional frames and boosting game performance by up to two times.

FBI Investigating Alleged Rockstar Hacker
The alleged hacker that leaked around 90 videos of Grand Theft Auto 6 and also targeted Uber is being investigated by the FBI.
As reported by Eurogamer, the hacker who claimed responsibility also said they were behind the major cyber attack suffered by Uber on September 18. The taxi company has since released a blog post that announced it is actively working with the FBI and the U.S. Department of Justice to resolve the matter.
Acknowledging that Rockstar had also suffered a breach, Uber said it believes the hacker is associated with Lapsus$, the group behind recent attacks on Nvidia, Microsoft, and Samsung.
"We believe that this attacker (or attackers) are affiliated with a hacking group called Lapsus$, which has been increasingly active over the last year or so," Uber said. "This group typically uses similar techniques to target technology companies, and in 2022 alone has breached Microsoft, Cisco, Samsung, Nvidia and Okta, among others.
"There are also reports over the weekend that this same actor breached video game maker Rockstar Games. We are in close coordination with the FBI and U.S. Department of Justice on this matter and will continue to support their efforts."
Rockstar had been keeping GTA 6 under wraps, having only announced the game in February this year, but footage showing robberies, gunplay, fully voiced conversations, and more appeared on GTAForums last week. The footage all but confirms the rumours that GTA 6 will feature male and female protagonists and a Vice City setting.
Seven British individuals aged 16 to 21 were arrested in relation to the Lapsus$ attacks back in March, not long after the group hacked Microsoft and Nvidia.
Rockstar has promised more information on GTA 6 is coming soon, but there's no telling as to when the developer will have a full reveal for the game. Just like its eventual launch, GTA 6 will only be shown when its ready.

Orlando Bloom Joins Gran Turismo Movie, Production Begins This Week
Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom has joined the Gran Turismo movie, along with Never Have I Ever star Darren Barnet.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 45-year-old actor has joined Gran Turismo – the upcoming video game adaptation by director Neill Blomkamp. Bloom will reportedly play a “hungry” marketing executive who is selling the sport of motor racing… “and just may believe in its art, too.”
Additionally, Never Have I Ever star Darren Barnet has joined the cast as competition for the young racer, as a driver who is “ranked at the top at the GT academy, who is not thrilled to see the upstart teen excel.”
According to the latest report, Gran Turismo will begin filming this week in Hungary.
The Gran Turismo film is based on a true story that sees a teenage Gran Turismo player step up to become a real professional race car driver after winning a series of competitions. It seems to be based on the story of Jann Mardenborough – a British driver who began competing in events such as the F3 European Championship after winning the GT Academy reality show at 19 years old.
The teen driver will be played by Archie Madekwe. David Harbour is on board as a former driver who teaches the upcoming teen everything he knows.
The latest Gran Turismo game was released earlier this year. IGN’s Gran Turismo 7 review gave it 9/10 and said: “On the eve of the series’ 25th birthday, Gran Turismo 7 is more than just a celebration of cars this time around; in some ways, it’s also a celebration of itself... It’s the best the series has been since its dominant PlayStation 2 era.”
The Gran Turismo move has been written by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin. It's due to hit theaters on August 11, 2023.

Another Shining Sequel Was ‘So Close’, But Warner Bros. Declined It
Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan has revealed there was almost another Shining sequel after Doctor Sleep.
Appearing on Twitter, the 44-year-old filmmaker revealed that The Shining almost got another sequel, but Warner Bros. turned it down because Doctor Sleep didn't meet box office expectations.
“We were SO CLOSE,” he said. “I’ll always regret this didn’t happen." Asked by a fan why it didn't happen, Flanagan added, "Because of Doctor Sleep’s box office performance, Warner Bros opted not to proceed with it. They control the rights, so that was that.”
We were SO CLOSE. I’ll always regret this didn’t happen https://t.co/0hr3hUTMhg
— Mike Flanagan (@flanaganfilm) September 18, 2022
Doctor Sleep debuted in 2019 – a direct sequel to the classic 1980 Stanley Kubrick film, The Shining. It tells the story of Danny Torrance – Jack’s son from the first movie. Now grown up (and played by Ewan McGregor) he struggles with his supernatural gift and the trauma of his past until becoming a popular orderly at a local hospice, using his powers to comfort dying patients and earning him the titular nickname, Doctor Sleep.
Unfortunately, the film was something of a disappointment at the box office, earning $72 million worldwide, after being made on a $45 million budget. Now, it looks as though Warner Bros. chosen not to take another roll of the dice when it came to a potential sequel.
Flanagan, who also wrote the Doctor Sleep script, is also known for another Stephen King adaptation after bringing Gerald’s Game to Netflix. His adaptation was met with critical success, with King himself calling the film “hypnotic, horrifying and terrific”.
IGN’s Doctor Sleep review gave it 8.5/10 and said: “When it’s focusing on the new things it brings to the table, Doctor Sleep is consistently terrifying, visually impressive, and soulful in equal measure. Though it may get a little heavy-handed and tonally confused in its reverence for Stanley Kubrick’s Shining in the homestretch, the vast majority of the film succeeds in using the Torrance family’s pain to tell a story of coming to terms with the past."

What to Expect From the Nvidia GTC 2022 Keynote
The main thing we're expecting to see from the Nvidia keynote today is the new RTX 40 series GPUs. While we haven't gotten any official confirmation from the company that the new graphics cards will be unveiled, recent leaks and comments from the CEO suggest this is what we'll see tomorrow. Nvidia will be most likely be unveiling the RTX 4090 and atleast two other cards from the 40 series line.
Although we are mostly expecting to see the RTX 40 series GPUs unveiled, there's a chance the company will announce more than just that. Nvidia has been teasing something called Project Beyond on Twitter over the past few weeks. These teasers have been rather vague, but in a recent earnings call, Nvidia stated that it is planning to reach new segments of the market.
It's possible that Project Beyond is just a codename for the next-gen GPUs, but it seems more likely that this will be a surprise announcement outside of the RTX 40 series.
