Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Debuts New Trailer and Images Ahead of September Release Date

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is set to plug in on September 13, and Netflix has released a new trailer and images to hype up the insane anime adaptation.

Adapted by famed anime studio Trigger, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners tells an original story set in the Cyberpunk universe. The series is centered around a young street kid who dreams of becoming an edgerunner, or a mercenary outlaw. He seemingly teams up with Lucy, a skilled netrunner looking to escape her past.

While the synopsis might be typical, the trailer is anything but. The art style leans on the abstract and it's very clear that Cyberpunk: Edgerunners will have a different tone and vibe from the more serious Cyberpunk 2077 RPG from CD Projekt.

You can check out the NSFW trailer here as well as the new screenshots in the gallery below.

Studio Trigger is a Tokyo-based anime house best known for its expressive style. The studio has made anime like Kill la Kill, SSSS. Gridman, and Little Witch Academia.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a co-production with CD Projekt and therefore a spinoff from Cyberpunk 2077. CD Projekt's RPG was released in 2020, and while it was an ambitious RPG on PC, the console versions suffered from severe technical issues. Though CDPR has promised to address these with regular updates.

Jordan Peele Says ‘More Stories To Tell’ in Nope Universe

Has Jordan Peele finished telling his most recent horror tale? Nope.

During an interview with The New York Times, the 43-year-old filmmaker teased that sci-fi horror flick Nope could be part of a wider universe. After fans noticed that a character seen in the trailers (and listed on IMDB as “Nobody”) was cut from the final film, the director revealed that there’s a good reason for that.

“The story of that character has yet to be told, I can tell you that,” he told The New York Times. “Which is another frustrating way of saying, I’m glad people are paying attention.”

“Nobody” is played by Michael Busch and can be briefly seen in one trailer. Unfortunately, the mysterious character was cut from the final film… but fans have been eager to find out why he’s spotted walking so calmly among a clearly panicked crowd.

“I do think they will get more answers on some of these things in the future,” added Peele. “We’re not over telling all of these stories.”

There’s certainly plenty of scope for more Nope – the film’s ending leaves a lot of its story untold.

Whether or not we’re talking about a sequel or merely another story set within the Nope universe remains to be seen. However, if it is a direct sequel, this would be Peele’s first. His directorial debut came in 2017 with the horror film Get Out, followed by Us in 2019.

The mystery certainly deepens considering the character is called “Nobody”, raising questions about how he would have fit into the story of Nope… and how he might eventually get his own appearance elsewhere.

IGN’s Nope review gave it 9/10 saying: “A hilariously bleak vision of the American dream, Jordan Peele’s Nope is a farcical love letter to Hollywood filmmaking. A sci-fi-horror-comedy that builds cinematic myths before casually knocking them over, it’s one of the most effective and purely entertaining summer blockbusters in years, from a studio director at the peak of his craft.”

Whether or not “Nobody” appears as a blu-ray extra or something more, remains to be seen.

AMD’s Ryzen 7000 Series CPUs Feature Integrated RDNA 2 Graphics and DDR5 RAM Support

AMD has unveiled its long-awaited Ryzen 7000 series of processors, which will be released on September 27.

Initially teased by AMD back in January during the company's CES 2022 keynote. The new chips also have integrated RDNA 2 graphics, the same graphical architecture found in the Radeon RX 6000 series GPUs, the Steam Deck, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The Ryzen 7000 series uses Zen 4 architecture; these are also the first processors by AMD to support the DDR5 RAM but do not include support for DDR4. So, if you are planning to upgrade your processor and motherboard, you will also need to invest in new RAM as well.

Four CPUs make up the Ryzen 7000 line. The Ryzen 9 7950X is the flagship, featuring 16 cores and 32 threads and a boost clock of up to 5.7GHz. The Ryzen 9 7950X will retail for $699. Other processors in the lineup include the $549 Ryzen 9 7900X, the $399 Ryzen 7 7700X, and the Ryzen 5 7600X, which will cost $299.

AMD also confirmed new motherboards to support the Ryzen 7000 series. The AMD X670 and X670E chipsets will be available starting next month, while the AMD B650 and B650E chipset motherboards will arrive a month later.

Besides the expected announcement of new CPUs, AMD also teased its upcoming graphics cards, which will feature RDNA graphical architecture. During the presentation, AMD demoed a pre-production model of its next-gen GPU, pairing it with its flagship Ryzen 7000 processor showing gameplay of Lifes of P running on ultra settings at 4K resolution.

AMD is expected to launch its RDNA 3 graphics cards later this year.

Star Wars: Here’s Leia’s Wedding Dress From the Happier Times Before Force Awakens

Star Wars fans have finally gotten their first look at Han Solo and Leia Organa’s wedding.

After surviving an assault on not one, but two Death Stars, Star Wars power couple Han and Leia eventually married. We met their offspring in Star Wars: The Force Awakens but have never quite managed to get a glimpse of those happier times. That is, until now.

A new book, Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel, finally gives us a glimpse of Han and Leia’s wedding day.

“Their marriage, and the peace and prosperity it represents, are a lightning rod for all — including Imperial remnants still clinging to power,” reads the book’s synopsis. “Facing their most desperate hour, the soldiers of the Empire have dispersed across the galaxy, retrenching on isolated planets vulnerable to their influence. As the Halcyon travels from world to world, one thing becomes abundantly clear: The war is not over. But as danger draws closer, Han and Leia find that they fight their best battles not alone, but as husband and wife.”

Filling in some of the gaps between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, the new book tells the story of the iconic rebels in the aftermath of the fall of the Empire. It sounds as though marital bliss is only short-lived.

Star Wars: The Princess and the Scoundrel charts the couple’s nuptials all the way to their honeymoon on the Halcyon luxury cruise – yes, the same cruiser that features in Disney World’s Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser, its $6000 a night Star Wars hotel experience.

Whether or not the Galactic Starcruiser experience will now tie into the plotline of Han and Leia’s honeymoon remains to be seen. For now, you can read all about it in the upcoming book, with a hint of Han and Leia’s wedding revealed in an excerpt over at Variety.

“Leia wore a gown made of soft meadow green, embroidered with flowers similar to the ones bedecking the outside of the temple. It hung loose over her body, yet it wasn’t shapeless. The sides were open, giving her space to move her legs and expose the laces of her white fur boots that went all the way up to her knees. She held a bouquet of wildflowers tied with the same bit of lacing woven in her hair, and Han suspected that Leia had picked the flowers just before she’d climbed the ladder to the temple.”

The Callisto Protocol Has an Achievement for Seeing Every Single Possible Death

The Callisto Protocol features a lot of different ways to die - and will reward you for being punished with every single one.

During an interview with IGN Japan, developer Mark James revealed that there’s actually an achievement for seeing every single possible death the game has to offer.

“We’re working on our achievements and trophies at the moment, and we actually have an achievement in there for seeing all of the deaths,” he said. “You are gonna die in our game. A lot of people ask how long the game is, and it’s like, how many times are you going to die? Also, the variables are huge in the way they attack you or you attack them, so you might actually die more or less. Even things like backing into a fan, it’s a mistake and it will result in a death, you’ll have to do that section again.”

The Callisto Protocol is the upcoming survival horror game from Glen Schofield – co-creator of the Dead Space series. Much like its predecessor, The Callisto Protocol has become renowned for its inventive (and rather gory) ways to die, and a recent gameplay trailer gave us a glimpse of just how gory it can get.

“It’s become our signature now,” said James about the game’s numerous deaths. “We have a signature death at the end of every trailer. We want you to see death not as a punishment but as a time to learn about what you did wrong, and a little bit of tongue-in-cheek entertainment about how you die.”

There are plenty of gruesome creatures to encounter in The Callisto Protocol as prisoner Jacob Lee is thrust into the middle of an alien invasion, but it’s not just the monsters that’ll kill you.

“Each monster has its own way it kills you, and environmental hazards are hazards to you as well as to the enemy. In one of our trailers, he backed into a fan, and when you’re backing away from a monster you’ve got to be really careful because these hazards can kill you as much as the enemy in front of you.”

How many different ways are there to die in The Callisto Protocol? Lots. But achievement hunters will have to work out exactly how many on their own.

“We're not going to reveal the number of deaths at the moment,” said James. “But I think you’ll have to work hard to do it.”

Daniel Craig Forgot His Knives Out Accent While Making Glass Onion

Daniel Craig’s southern accent when he returns as detective Benoit Blanc may sound a bit different in the sequel, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Partly because Craig worked on a more “grounded” Southern accent for the role, but also because he forgot how to do the accent from the first movie.

“I’d forgotten the accent, and I didn’t want to do a pastiche,” Craig tells Empire Magazine in a recent interview. So, to prepare for the role again, Craig says he worked with an accent coach for about four months before the Knives Out sequel started filming.

“I wanted to make it as grounded and as anchored in reality as possible,” Craig continued.

Craig’s southern-fried accent in Knives Out hit the right balance between comical and restrained, but it sounds like his accent for the sequel will be more grounded and realistic.

Though it’s funny Craig forgot the accent seeing as though he also sported a southern accent in Steven Soderbergh’s southern heist Logan Lucky.

Like the detective heroes of the past, Glass Onion will see detective Benoit Blanc return for a whole new mystery with a new cast. Set on a private Greek island, Blanc will have to solve a new murder among a new cast of suspects.

They’ll include Edward Norton as a tech billionaire, Janelle Monae, Kathryn Hahn, Leslie Odom Jr, Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudson, and Dave Bautista.

Glass Onion will premiere on Netflix after the streamer bought the rights to two Knives Out sequels for $450 million. Meaning once Glass Onion wraps up, Craig will be back for a third Benoit Blanc mystery, though he’ll hopefully remember the accent the third time around.
